Don't worry people. I'm still alive. When Heller ripped my arms off and threw them away, the amount of biomass in them was enough for me to regenerate and escape while he was consuming my other body ;)
Ahh, that's the disappointing thing though, just a skin. They could've developed it more by at least giving the voice through the gameplay dialogues. I mean c'mon, they could do the zombies, why not do yours :/
muscle mass was pointless honestly, armor may have been over looked saying he was full of energy and it would be scummy for him to be like 'ok, let me put on my armor that makes me invincible :]'
Dark Nation muscle mass was bad ass. he should have at least used his shield as well. I feel as if muscle mass gets underestimated hella hard that shit hit hard

Guys mercer was dead before heller killed him he might of been alive but that wasn't mercer it was just the virus it had taken over he just didn't no it
then this shoulda been about the real Alex mercer being resurrected, has virus powers and does everything heller does including consuming his virus twin
I'm an unsatisfied fan, and I think it's actually a cool concept of how the Mercer we saw in Prototype 2 wasn't the Mercer we saw in Prototype 1. I mean, just think, the original Mercer in Prototype 1 could've washed up on multiple parts of the shore. I know it's most likely not true, but I really wish that the Mercer we saw in this game was just another version of him regenerated, and not the Mercer we all love :)
I finished the first Prototype without doing any events and purchasing any upgrades, except some upgrades required for the main mission e.g. Stealth Consume, Air Dash, Dive Roll etc. and I felt a huge satisfaction for beating it. In Prototype 2, I completed all collectibles, Blacknet missions, Heller upgrades, and Radnet events. So when I fight Alex, I felt like "Is this all you got?" "Why is he so easy to beat?" "I need more challenge". Is it just me or some of you think Prototype 2 is way easier? I can't know for sure because I neglected Alex and spoiled Heller.
Heller seems rather uncivilized, I like Alex more he seems more flexible in personality (Not really in terms of sanity, he will always be a sociopath). I don't know it seems like Heller is more unprofessional in dialogue due to his consistent swearing, but then again Alex is no better especially after he devours all those soldiers. Cursing is fine it shows off emotion, but doing it too much can lead to the assumption of uncivility, or that one is completely uncultured, either one leads to the same assumption that one is unintelligent. But it is not all the time these assumptions are made.
The fans let me down on this franchise. Alex Mercer is not a literal virus like fanboys shout. Anyone with a lil common sense can figure it out with definite proof
Alex Mercer Well james heller and alex mercer are exactly the same. A human body infected with a virus that changes said body. Difference being that mercer died before being infected and suffered brain damage (amnesia). If you have at least some knowledge on how viruses work and what they are then saying mercer is a sentient walking virus is cringeworthy thought
Mizantrophy Here is the thing, if you know anything about Prototype you would know that Blacklight is not like a normal virus, it has many properties that in real world, retroviruses just don't have. Just like how Bruce Banner should've died when hit with the gamma pulse instead of becoming a green rage monster who can take on cosmic beings. This is a game, a fictional story in which the rules that apply in our universe don't apply in theirs. That retrovirus is not a normal retrovirus, it's a genetically enhanced virus that does not function like a regular retrovirus. One other thing is, Mercer and Heller are not the same, Mercer isn't Mercer anymore, it's the virus thinking it's Mercer as a result of taking on his memories and form, Heller on the other hand, is a product of his resilient DNA rejecting the Blacklight and not letting the virus fully infect and mutate him in a way it's intended to do. I don't know if you fully understood the game or not, or the concept of Blacklight, but if you have a problem with how the virus worked in the game, maybe you should talk to the people at Radical or Activision, because they were the ones who came up with it, not me or the fans, we just follow what they wrote.
i think that halfway through alex started to realize heller could be his replacement so he gave up and let heller take him, and when people say hellers stronger, mercer most likely has his abilities since he gave heller his virus powers
... I wonder what the odds are that Mercer still lives inside of Heller, considering last time he "died" he reformed from a crow that ate bits of his remains...
When Heller chopped Mercer's hands off he could've regained it back, he got his whole body back by consuming a crow. Mercer could be plotting something, he a smart fool

didn't we learn in the first prototype that Alex was actually the virus itself...so wouldn't consumeing him mean he controls you? like a new body or something like that?
Sucks that Alex had to die ending the prototype game but I mean, they could of probably said something like, Alex Mercer learned how to create infected clones that had all of his memories and powers obviously saving the games continuation. I would of enjoyed to see a Prototype 3.
I agree with you man, he could've just armored up and spammed devastators, I mean, all the Biomass he would've got off all the evolved he consumed would've made him even more of a god
What would be awesome is a third prototype with Alex mercer taking over the body of james heller. Just think about it.. Alex was his creator and he should be more powerfull and capable of that... and i would really love to play as Alex again, maybe it's just my opinion i don't know..
So, in the end, Mercer becomes a Super-Prototype, only to get his ass kicked by a slightly-less powerful regular Prototype. Cool, though not as much as Mercer getting nuked to smithereines.
I reckon they'll do a prototype 3 and mercer lives in heller as a voice and the game will have a few choice paths, the more decisions heller makes that are mercer aligned the more heller will become like mercer, regardless of this midway, heller will transform into mercer and heller will become the voice, then through out the game the player can chose which one to control which will ultimately end the game with one of them been the dominant prototype.
They were so concerned with improving graphics that they completely forgot to improve literally everything else. Story, Characters, Gameplay, Writing quality, Music. All these things were objectively INFERIOR in the sequel.

To be honest, Alex could've won that, not that I side with him nor Heller. I liked Mercer when it was the first game, now I did not like him since he got so obsessed with power, revenge, taking over the world. I still don't side with Heller, and let's not forget that I don't side with Mercer. The reason why I think that Mercer could've still won that is because he was quite powerful, going back to [PROTOTYPE] he defeated Elizabeth Greene in that huge worm thing, and he defeated a supreme hunter, and still survived at the end on a small crow after being exploded by a nuke. Alex Mercer should've gained more power then. In this fight he did not use his Shields, his amazing armor, muscle mass, tendrils (correct me if he doesn't have it) infected summoning, if Heller can summon infected then so can Alex, not to mention he could've used powers like, tendril barrage devastator, ground graveyard devastator where huge spike on the ground shows up, etc. Heller could still beat Alex after all that consuming he has done. I think that a goliath would be enough, if he consumed many goliath probably 6 or 15 or more goliath will be equivalent to Elizabeth Greene + Supreme Hunter so both Alex and Heller would've still been matched. But I was just thinking though, not complaining or anything, why is Heller still quite powerful than Mercer even though that he had consumed and grew stronger? Gifted maybe? I actually like both characters, both badass is the word. Now this is only my opinion, don't go "You f*****g idiot Alex would totally won that, go suck a d**k" or "You're just being racist because Heller is black and you hate him, NERD" or "Heller is way stronger , Mercer is just an emo f**k and likes d***s" I do not care what you think, it's my opinion not yours. But if you want to add something to that, something that I'm missing or something that I said wrong (probably the whole thing) please feel free to tell me, but not the way I said earlier.
Anime Lover Muscle mass is boring, it just makes Alex's throws stronger. As you can see from this final battle, Heller just doges things thrown at him. The armor looked really cool, but it doesn't look like Alex. That's probably why they didn't include it. In the first game it hindered movement, so it wasn't even good. Alex's shield would certainly make the final battle more complex and fun to play, but Heller's shields are much better so it wouldn't give Alex an edge. But those devastators; Alex was MUCH better at it than Heller. That would've given him an edge... But bottom line is that Heller is supposed to have DNA better suited for being an evolved, that's why Alex liked him so much.
Prototype 2 screwed up the story because in prototype 1 Alex mercer was not evil and his evil in prototype 2 why? Also Alex mercer should have killed James Heller because he is more powerful and knows how to use the powers correctly.
Hello ... this fight sucks. Alex Mercer did not use even 10% of his abilities ... If he would have used all skills (I speak for those who know the first game) Heller It would have been killed within 10 seconds
NYZ was one step close to recovery then Mercer suddenly made an outbreak. If it's true that Mercer wanted to save humanity, why did he release the 2nd virus?
I think Alex Mercer is still alive , you wanna know why I know this is shit Heller weakened Mercer by cutting his weapons out of him and Heller consumed him but he did not know that those cutted weapons will combine and Mercer rerives but he is still weaken and he got to reconsume again to regain his weapons and increase all his abilities so you will use ALEX MERCER again in Prototype 3 The Revenge of Mercer That should be the title!
ok how about the blacklight pick up dna samples of mercer and heller and create a clone, the perfect assassin under their control, you got to admit that would be one bad ass boss fight really.
I never like it when a protagonist becomes the villain in the next game. They spend so much time making us love the character, only to have him killed by some prick you have to play as in the next game. Mercer was simply a far cooler character than Heller.
if you think about it alex was right of course james heller just wanted his daughter but the infection has spread and black watch is taking over but the only answer is alexs to turn others in to prototypes

People keep asking me this, and, to that I say, I DON'T WANT TO KILL HIM! Overall I didn't even like the story of [PROTOTYPE2], why make ME evil when you had PARIAH being mentioned EVERYWHERE in the first game!? I mean that just lead me to saying "Fuck it, just kill me off then if you're gonna do this" which I didn't think the Lead Story Writers were actually gonna follow.........god damn you Rad(i)cal and Activision
Heller is not up to Alex's level. He looks like a dull, limited, and uninteresting character. I don't even understand why Alex chose him in the first place.

For my opinion mercer might have turned evil because I think of one reason he did consume Elizabeth green she could have did something to Alex from the inside out....but who will know
Its cuz mercer found out he wasnt man anymore,he was just the virus,consuming to survive (shown in ending of prototype 1) So in prototype 2 he thinks like a virus,whats best for his kind (the mercer virus)
Maxenzie Actually, according to the Prototype 2: The Anchor comic book (which takes place between Prototype and Prototype 2), Alex went through many events that convinced him that humanity wasn't worth saving. The final straw was when a woman he developed feelings for shot him in the face and told him that she cared about herself more than Alex. He then regenerated and consumed her.
