This video saved me! After a day of struggling with my mini it's finally working right again. I couldn't get past the first layer...then it would under extrude and start clicking. The clue I needed was in your video, where you show how to adjust the heat sink to the PTFE tube. I set up the top fitting like you showed, backing it out 1/4 turn, then loosened the 3 set screws and gave the whole thing a good pinch to put a little compression on the tube. It's back to printing like a dream again. Thank you!
My tip for removing nozzle: heat up, unscrew little bit to break the lock, than let it cool down (you'll need to do it anyway) only then unscrew it all the way down when it's cold, that way you don't have to worry about hot part falling all over

I'm looking forward to seeing if anyone does mods for it, like replacing the hot end with a genuine E3D-V6 or something. That would be interesting.
I actually quite like the light hot end they have on there now, I'd worry that anything heavier will get too bulky to move or that it might tip the gantry's balance or something. One pro-tip, the 3 bolts that hold the X/Z axis to the Y bed need to be tightened on a regular basis ... mine started tipping away from the bed after only a few months.
What led you to making this fix? I have had the day one mini and just recently started coming into issues with stringing and also some layer skipping (printing same model with different filament getting issue on both models). I’ve done all the retraction testing I could and the test models come out great, but I think my stringing is resulting in issues elsewhere. Just thinking maybe I need to updated the heat block/break. Replaced the nozzle already, minda, and did the updated ptfe tube thing as well.
I’m looking to get a few of the tools I need to work on my mini and I don’t like the stand “L” shaped allen wrenches. What is that one you have? Is it part of a larger kit or is it just an allen key set?
I finally figured out the right words to search for (“hex bit screwdriver set” worked for me). Thanks for your videos! They’ve been very helpful in my Mini adventure.
It's not as good as the i3MK3, but for most normal stuff it gets the job done. And for 90% of normal stuff I am getting the same quality as on my i3MK3
I Typically get it right from Prusa. The shipping can be a deal killer, so whenever I buy something there I load up on spare parts I may or may not need.
@@iqless i have mk3s but every month i have problem with it. Now i have problem with bearings i visited the support and they send me new bearings i changed it and lubricated it. It was working for like 2 weeks and now it is very loud again. I want to change bearings from metal to plastic. What do you think?
I would give it a shot. I have thought about replacing the linear bearing to see if I could make it even more quiet, but have just not got around to it yet.
