Thanks for the vid! I just got my ftdx10 running today, and while I had no problem getting the main HRD program to work, DM780 been a bear..I still cant get it to transmit. And yes, while you do look a bit like Sheldon, he doesn't have an AR!

Hey congrats on the FTDX10 I am sure you will not regret making that purchase. It is one of if not the best radio I have ever had the chance to use. Let me know if I can help you any further with the transmit problem, and if you want to talk guns I can do that to. Again thanks for the contact and 73's.....

WELL if you run a 100w your over powering plus we all learn as a tech that only use as much power you need to make a contact

What are you talking about?

After re watching the video I see what your talking about. Here is what I was trying to convey. We do all learn that as per the FCC regulations you should only use the amount of power necessary to make the contact. I would argue that the vast majority of ham operators getting started and throughout there lifetime run somewhere from 80w-100w on voice and don't touch it again. And I know of nobody that will make contact with a station and slowly using radio checks or other means lower their power to the lowest power that can still make a copy. So what I am saying is just meant as a reminder to turn down the power a bit so that your not wiping the waterfall

@@mind_warp when you said about power i was saying if you use to much power it will splatter your signal making it hard to recive you and two i remind u what we all learn when getting are tech lic that it says to make only use enough power to make the contact

It is strange how much I get that I can't see the resemblance but it is obviously there.

4:47 That's not what I'm seeing in my device manager, all it shows is Silicon Labs CP210x USB to UART Bridge (COM3), and no other com ports.

I'm not sure then I'm not a Windows master. I am sorry. I would try Uninstalling the drivers and the program then I would be sure your cable is data capable not just charging
@cryptolioicecreamoranges6974
@@mind_warp I figured it out, I was using the wrong port on the back of the transceiver... RTTY/Data... Different plug, and driver entirely.
