Shadows: Lots of health, immune to melee attacks until you weaken them with gunfire, fast as hell, tricky to predict their movements, they hit like a truck, and they'll kamikaze you when they turn red. Death Scissors: Only part that can be damaged is the horns, can move through walls, attacks are VERY hard to dodge, can enter a berserker rage that makes it immune to all damage temporarily, and there's barely any room to maneuver. Good times....
Death Scissors are those reddish Goat skull ghosts who trap you in a tiny space??? Yeah, those are even harder than their Scythes version... And even more scary with their ominous laugh!!!
@@DrSanto91 That's the worst part, we wouldn't have that much trouble with DMD if it weren't throwing us DT flaming puppets and DT shadows every 20 seconds
@Edrick T- It’s really perfect when you think about it, the song has a sort of feeling of panic, anxiety and adrenaline when hearing it. It’s almost like it triggers those emotional feelings in most people, especially for those that bravely fought through “DMD Mode”. Nothing was to prepare any of us for “Dante Must Die Mode”, it was a totally different experience than playing through the original game on either Very Hard, Hard or Normal altogether. The game didn’t hold nothing back and even though you had everything and were the Incredibly Unstoppable Son of Sparda, you definitely DID NOT feel like a legendary devil slayer. My reflexes were beyond the normal limits while going through DMD mode and after getting through it, did I finally feel like a legendary unstoppable force.
@@macdoninri So true. They were smart in adding things like this to please hardcore fans of DMC1. DMC5 is definitely the DMC game i've been waiting for for many years.
This is one of those songs you don't really get to enjoy for any length of time in game. You're either too busy fighting or dead. Walk into a hallway and hear two things, 1. this song kicking off and 2. woosh woosh woosh as a cat turns into a scythe and flies at you. Love this song. . . fucking hate this song. Good song.
More like cute sounding footsteps... yea I remember my first playthrough on DMD I herd the noise in the hallway and I was like oooo KITTY 😄 Then I heard another pair of the same footstep noise and immediately said fuck no! But that was a long time ago, now I love taking 3 on at a time!
Normal mode was bad enough. I never even beat hard mode, damn final boss. To think it can get even harder, better go practice my reflexes on ninja gaiden and get back into this.
+Thejj405 dante must die is truly horrific. each boss has 3 times the health they did in hard mode and can almost 1 shot you. i'm still stuck on the third nelo angelo fight
blkmattymatt XD this is literally my alarm clock XD every morning starts with a heart attack then I jump out of bed in a panic and fumble with my clock to try and shut it off XD It is insanely loud.
@@K1000Master Just imagine being in the middle of dream and you're alarm wakes you up in the dream. It would probably turn into a nightmare for a few seconds and then you wake up looking for the closet thing to use a weapon.
This is probably the coolest urgent threat music still to this day! I especially love the way it's delivered in Mission 2 on Hard/DMD. *Stage begins. You notice there's no puppets laying around, but Dante's gun/gun's are drawn. You walk towards the camera. Nothing Yet. Then, you hear it... those wet, echoish bare footsteps...* "Aww Shhit..."
@@ApolloAugustusyou need higher ground to damage him as the only weakness available is his horns, during confrontation he will try to reduce your movement space and enter berserk state, during this time he will become invulnerable and will do consecutives lunging attack so you need to focus on dodging it either by timing your jump or sidestepping until he stopped, then counter attack. You can damage him effectively with Alastor’s dt ranged attack and vortex, or just use helm breaker repeatedly, also Ifrit’s hellfire and meteor can dispose him fast.
Attention: In a few seconds, a feline creature will swoop down at you with cutting edge accuracy. Heal now if you can, otherwise, rest in pieces. -This music-
The True Theme Song for “Dante Must Die Mode” everyone that played through that mode would know what I am talking about. Anyone who got passed every single DMD mode in every DMC game deserves some kind of medal by Capcom for doing so 😎👍🏼😈😇🗡.
assburgers95 i swear i am the only human in the world who was not afraid of the shadows. Even the fight with 3 of them. Maybe im just realy good at fighting them. PS. if you don't know there is a way to insta kill them and its not that hard Just google "dmc1 shadow critical hit"
+Vivil2 There is? I always got stuck in that part where you jump from a cliff and there are 2 or 3 shadows (don't remember exactly) waiting for you in hard mode. I always beat one with low health and then the other one finishes me off :C
Giddiani Im pretty sure you can just run past them if you want but I only did that in dante must die difficulty because they are really hard when they devil trigger
Giddiani also the way to insta kill them is to wait until they do the head spear thing (the one where ther head streaches real far to stab you) but instead of rolling sideways, jump. you will land on its head spear then just unload ebony and ivory into them they will most likely die before they pull there face back. and yes they take MASSIVE damage while you are standing on them. You should also note while waiting for the head thing DON'T SHOOT they will normaly walk around very calm unless you shoot them if you shoot them they start sprinting around and are less likely to do the spear head Lastly this can be hard to do sometimes when there are more than one because you might target the wrong one to shoot or one of the others might hit you while you are standing on their friend but it is the most effective way to kill them and gets you bonus orbs.
Forget the cats, did people forget the random portals walking in a hallway because a death scythe was lurking by? The music didn't even kick off until he threw one at you!
I've beaten this game 3 times on DMD and this song still makes me think of a shadow, and Dante slowly circling each other while Dante peppers it with E&I, waiting for the shadow to make it's first move.
+HashBandicoot God damn this mission. I've played DMC as a lil' kid and I've replayed it just a few weeks back, this time for serious (you know...I was a kid without internet who didn't know English, so I missed like 60% of the game and its mechanics). THIS freaking mission...it's just awful.
It would be amazing if DMC1 had a bloody palace mode. By the way, this reminds me of the day where my sister was being disturbed by a demon back when I was 13 and this song was the only thing that came to mind.
Those first few sticky sounding steps you hear a second before this theme plays and you realized you didn't pack enough holy waters/vital stars for the 3 shadows below the cliffs >_
+lraven _ Honestly, I was too busy trying to be badass and enjoy the music XD so I ended up trying to fight as long as I could if there wasn't a gate nearby. Emphasis on Trying XD

Played DMC for the first time not too long ago (shush my backlist is enormous) and this already gives me flashbacks. Bad kitty doesn't mess around and neither do Death Scissors or Death Scythe
Ifrit gauntlets, with the jump that lit you on fire. Wield the shotgun. Jump, shoot at point blank range. Break their shadow shell to get to their core. Devil trigger. Unleash inferno. Dead real quick. Been years since I played. Miss dearly
I was bored one afternoon so I decided to put the OST of the first Devil May Cry game into the movie “The Nun.” Some songs from DMC really fit seamlessly into some scenes in The Nun. Psycho Siren, for instance, is perfect for that one hallway chase scene (the hallway with those wooden crosses).
I never got to complete the Game Shadow was always there When i finally got old and good with the controls my CD got a bit scratchy and the game didn't want to work i never got to end it
GET OUT OF MY HEAD GET OUT OF MY HEAD GET OUT OF MY HEAD GET OUT OF MY HEAD GET OUT OF MY HEAD GET OUT OF MY HEAD GET OUT OF MY HEAD GET OUT OF MY HEAD GET OUT OF MY HEAD GET OUT OF MY HEAD
If frost can be a returning enemy from DMC4 after mundus is dead. Why can't shadows, sins, and blades return?!?! It would keep the old creepy but badass vibe to the game.
Note to players: if you see a glowing red cat chasing you, DO NOT FIGHT IT, JUST FUCKING RUN. instincts may tell you otherwise but if it catches you, INSTANT GAME OVER
