I've listened to this performance often over the years. It never fails to make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up - and my legs turn to jelly! What a voice! Sublime.
I think Ermonela Jaho is today's exemplary soprano in Puccini's music. Yes, there are many superlative artists singing this music at the moment, but Jaho's understanding of Puccini's idiom seems to me unparalleled.
