A have been meaning to ask some of you peeps that i follow about vehicle size concerns. My wife and i are planning to build off our short box 1 ton dodge ram ( will build a bit longer flat deck) with a fibreglass camper and want to tow a trailer big enough to carry our 2 door Mercedes Gwagon, maybe 14’ long. What are your thoughts of the places you have travelled to? Would we be way too restricted or only some towns would be inconvenient? Thanks, enjoying the content!
Personally, I wouldn't take anything ANY bigger than we are now. 24' long is already tight to make some corners in smaller towns, and we are constantly hopping out to see that our fan hood at 10'7" is tickling power lines, official and otherwise. And I knew that going in, but I thought we'd just go around those towns or park and walk in... But the fact of the matter is that the roads go through these towns and if you want to get to some of the places we're going, you NEED to go through town. Jeremy (the other Beard in this video) told me that he recently got stuck on a steep narrow street and they couldn't continue, they needed to back down the hill (including the pile of cars behind him). I can't imagine doing that with a trailer too...
