If you want to try your hand at planting pumpkins at your home or garden site, this video will give you all the information you need to get things started. Watching pumpkins grow (whether for eating or carving), can be great fun. Juan Arias, UArizona Extension Tribal Agent, filmed a quick, 3 minute video to show you how to get your own pumpkins planted and growing.

I planted a huge handful of pumpkin in my small garden and I got tons of leaves and huge yellow blooms covering every surface of the garden. I just wanted to see if they would grow. Planted them like 2 inches apart in several rows. 😄

I made a mistake of just starting a small mound of mulch and miracle grow. without mixing those two items with the soil, am I in trouble ?

When is the best time to plant?

It depends on your area but I would say early to mid June would be the best. However, I planted mine as late as early July and I still had pumpkins in time for Halloween.
