I’m really not into baking much. In fact , I eat my toast raw. But, this was a most excellent video, particularly the part where Stacey and I got to see Fancy again. She’s a beauty! Hope Fancy has been a blessing to you and your family especially through your trials. God bless!!

Raw toast. Took me a minute. 🤣🤣🤣 Thank you for sending her to our home. You guys really put a lot of effort into creating such wonderful puppies! She’s been an absolute joy and has kept us very busy! She’s given me a lot of hope and truly shown God’s blessings in times of hardship.

@@JacksonsjobAwesome. I subbed in hopes of having the opportunity to see more of Roxy. You can thank Stacey for most of the hard work in raising our puppies….Oh, and doing the sandwich making around here too.

I couldn’t make out her name “fancy pants Roxy and Joy”. Is that right? She is adorable!

It’s my hick accent. Her original name was Fancy. And I called her Fancypants because she has one leg that’s got a a big black stripe. We were allowed to name her anything with the letter F for her registration so I tacked on the pants. Stacey and Aaron are good sports. 🤣 We named her Roxanne after the famous song, Roxie for short, and it’s ironic as we had the name picked out for years. The name Fancy has similarities and is also a song. Joy was for the joy she brought into our family and to remind us to find the joy in darkness. That was perhaps the most poignant moments. We never anticipated getting a 4th dog and our plans was to get her years down the line as a second dog. But for some reason, the universe told us she was the one. Little did we know our lives were about to fall apart. Looking back, we saw signs of the tumor. It was old age we were assured when the blood work and physicals came back with great results. Perhaps that nagging feeling in the back of my mind was what made us go mad and get a puppy neither of us expected.

@@Jacksonsjob A bit of a mouthful if you take her to a “dog run”… “Here Fancy Pants Roxy n’ Joy”!…”Here Fancy Pants Roxy n’ Joy”….who’s a good girl… Domo was easy. I would call out “Dough” because if there might be someone that speaks or understands Japanese, it means “bite!”. Also much easier than his registered name “Domo Arigato”. I’m leaning towards “Beau” for the next pooch and “Belle” if it’s a female. Or both names if I get a brother and sister. The sage bread came out pretty good but, I couldn’t linger for an extra couple of hours. So, it still kinda stalled. Mind you it’ll be easier in a wood stove environment annnd maybe in a cast iron cauldron could be the trick to stop the skinning over. Maybe I’ll pop into the retirement home on the island and flirt with the old girls as part of my nefarious plan to garnish knowledge. It’ll be fun.

Hahah. That’s why I often call her Rox or rock steady. 🤣 She’s a very sweet girl and is at that age she still charges into your arms full speed just with a little whistle. She is starting to get to the age of independence and sassiness so it will be interesting to see how she matures.

And hey, it sounds like you made great progress! If you visit the folks homes, look for the women with well worn hands and not dolled up. Those are the ones that will know the best recipes.

@@Jacksonsjob Thats the thing with the agriculture community. Always very proud and polite. Dirt under the fingernails was and is the norm. My neighbour (3 miles away) is always up at 4.30 am, clean shaven and shirt buttoned up to the collar. Loves to spin a yarn about the local events, in great detail. He even recounts his conversations with him in the second person. I hope I described this properly. He would....oh and then I said. And darn is he ever proud of his fields, much like a father watching over his brood. Keep in mind that his great grand parents were dropped off a train, the local priest then took them to a track of forest. Gave them a 100 pound sack of flour, some sugar, dried beans and good luck to you as he rode off on his horse and buggy. All social engagements were stringintly controlled by the priest, as were relationships. Such a proud peoples with simple pleasures.

That is a really good tip, if you have a sugar cookie recipe you love adding different spices makes it a different cookie. And I have a tip if you over bake them, just dunk'em. 😁

Haha. Good idea on the overbaking and dunking! 😁 I usually through them in the tin with soft cookies and it makes them a bit better after a day.

So glad to see you back in the saddle! This video was a real tear jerker in a good way. I'm overwhelmed by the wonderful news, what a darling!!! She is adorable and fancy. You know you don't have to use all her names all the time, no, reserve that for when she's in trouble! lol right? love it thanks for sharing.💗

That one cracked me up, Karen. A much needed laugh. I usually call her Rox or Roxie. She is very sweet but takes up a lot of time and energy. Especially since she’s just discovered she’s a herding breed a few weeks ago and chasing the vacuum, broom and Luke are quite fun. I hope you are having a lovely Sunday. 💗

What a beautiful puppy. I'm sure she will bring you lots of joy. The recipe is great and I have been making a lot of pumpkin cookies lately. I don't care for pumpkin so my wife and our neighbors are getting to enjoy my baking efforts. Good to see your videos again, take care and God Bless.

I used to adore pumpkin until I hit about 40 a few years ago. Then it decided to give me heartburn. Isn’t it funny how your body begins to reject weird things as you age? 😂 I bet your neighbor and wife are thrilled! I’m debating about doing some bread and basic tutorials instead of traditional fall baking. I think they would be more beneficial to everyone since the weather is finally cooling down. God bless you and your beautiful family! It’s always a pleasure hearing from you!

I think we are all novices at something in our lives. It keeps you from becoming stagnant in life. 😁👩🏼‍🍳 I’m going to try to get up a couple muffin recipes as well since I’ve been working on them on and off all spring and summer. 😂 I hope the rest of your weekend is fabulous!

We had a good safe stay at home holiday season. The kids and grandkids visited and we cooked some good meals. For the most part we all stayed healthy and that was a good thing. This morning it was 27 here when I got up just at sunrise. I bet it was colder than that at your location. I'm drinking my coffee and turned on the computer to see your reply. Thanks for the note, always enjoy hearing from you. I took advantage of a few warmer days the past 2 or 3 weeks and got a lot done in the garden. I'm trying to be ready for spring planting but I still have a lot to do. I saw the high today will be about 51 so I may try to get outside for a few hours this afternoon and make a little more progress. This reply got long, sorry. Take care and stay warm and healthy.

Long replies never bother me! Neil writes practically poetry about his travels in Canada on here. 🤗 It sounds like you had a lovely holiday and surrounded by those you love. This year was bittersweet for us. Most of our family has passed or moved away. Those still in the area no longer like to get together in the cold months so it was a quiet time for us and without our little man, it was a bit melancholy. 😔 We are trying to remind ourselves to be grateful for what we still have and what more could two people ask, really? We have a roof over our heads and heat in the ❄️🥶 winter. That is so cool you can prep your garden this time of year. The ground is officially frozen here so it’s likely going to be March before it all warms up enough to dig. But maybe not. It’s been a warm winter. It hasn’t gotten below freezing much at all this year. Now who’s talking a lot? 😳🥴 I am going to try out my new to me camera with a simple video I think. I’ve been struggling with it.
