Poor thing! I had a pet bull as a small child on the farm. He'd get out every so often and come charging right at 4 year old me, to the horror of all present. He'd slide to a stop, inches away, with his head down so I could scratch his head and ears. The uninitiated would scream and run. It was LOTS of fun!

I am so glad that animal medicine has advanced the way that it has. Less than 100 years ago this big boy would have just been put down...but now he has wonderful advocates and methods of treatment to ensure a long happy, healthy life.

That was a HUGE abscess!😳 Poor bull was suffering. I was with you on every stroke of your knife. Get all the detached horn off.👍 I’ve watched hours and hour of The Hoof GP so I feel like I’m a virtual hoof trimmer!😂 I’m so happy that I found you to watch and learn from also. pretty sure the bull was actually stumbling, if you look at the clip again you can clearly see, it putting too much weight on the tips of it's front feet and eventually stumbles and actually drags for a bit on it's front left knee.

I never spent anytime on the farm but my Great Great Grandfather bought a section of land in northwestern Iowa and raised feed corn and fattened beef. I do know how much these farmers try to keep their heards healthy. Very interesting videos.

I find if of interest in watching vids such as these, is how calm the cows and bulls seems. They seldom make any sounds or try and pull their foot away, even when it looks painful. Keep up the good work.

I noticed something about this patient of yours, I think he did aim at his owner a bit but his left front foot was turned under and he seemed to be unsteady on his feet. Yes you are correct, that is one of the steps. The toes on this animal suited his size. Shortening them further would have reduced his walking surface. Thanks for watching and your comments 😀

I always equate it to a blood blister. Once you actually break it open and drain the blood, it’s a world of difference and relief. I imagine it’s the same for these babies too to an extent.

I’ve seen this question asked and answered so many times, and since this is a month old comment with no reply, I’ll answer. There are 2 answers that I see the most; 1. The animal in the wild would have these problems, and would be killed off or die an early death. 2. The environment in which these animals live is very different to what they would have naturally, so this happens
