Old mate, angry Angus has been fighting his friends. It probably started our as a hematoma, but it is fully organized now into a seriously creamy abscess. We drained it, flushed it, and medicated him. Now he is a happy Angus bull!
Only farmer I seen that actually took the time to wash out the abscess and spray the wound instead of slicing the cow open and walking away. Nice guys!
Right? Ive seen farms take out their pocket knife... stab the animal, and then back up and let nature take it's course. The goddamn flys that brings is awful for the animals sanity though
I’ve watched numerous “Enoch the Cow Vet” videos. In every one that he has lanced an abscess, he has ALWAYS flushed it out with this iodine mixture to help cleanse the infection. Usually in conjunction with a shot of antibiotics.
Thank you for cleaning him off afterwards also. There's no reason to leave them completely messy and stinky. They deserve a little respect also and I admire you for that
I’m an artist. I can understand what that means. The feeling of paint and charcoal and clay on my hands is like being alive. Idk how else to describe it. It’s like ughh like the joy of labor idk
I always feel like their being manhandled but I have to remind myself they know the animal better than I do and its going to make them feel better. There only in discomfort for a lol while. 🤗
First flushing of the abscess I have seen, and I've been wondering for years, how can we do it with humans, and not for any other animal. Thank you for taking good and complete care of them.
My husband had an abscess on his bum and was on the verge of blood poisoning. ( he was booked for the doctor the following morning) To try and help relieve his discomfort, we used a horse poultice called “tuff rock”. Well it worked a treat. Pain relieved and pus removed. Doctor was impressed. 😂
I REALLY wanted to be a large animal vet when I grew up before I became too disabled(Dr. Wheelchair wouldn't be great at handling bulls) to go down that route and have avoided the topic like the plague, but the absolute glee this man has for his job has made me so happy that vets like this exist and are thriving. These videos are a joy, thank you for existing.
I was on the way to be working in vet clinics as a technician, I enjoy working with animals a lot until I got hit by a car as a pedestrian about 6 years ago. I had both shoulders injured, was given a lovely pain and fatigue illness called fibromyalgia which effects just about everything I'm finding, and ptsd. I tried to keep working after and I just couldn't, it really took awhile to stop being angry I was out in this position.
@@masterunity2456 Why would that cow know you are trying to help him??? Hes in a stantion with his head cranked and tied down tight and has to endure the pain of a scapule . without any numbing or sedative!!! Would you let your children be tied down and be traumatized and be cut open with no lidocaine??? Or how would you like your dog or yourselves go through that???? I understand it needs to be done, but I feel it couldve been done in a way better way and more humane. Shame on this ass!!! Ive worked with cows for many years and they are so abused and treated like shit. If you only knew what Ive seen but have made no friends for sticking up for animal rights. Hitting a 1500 Lb cow with a cane that drops it to ground????? Cows are extremely UNintelligent !!!!
@@drumminmike Absolutely they do. Pain and stress releases chemicals in the blood that taint the meat. Good meat comes from animals who are comfortable, well-treated, and free of pain. It's almost a covenant between the animal and the farmer - we ask their death to provide food and income, so it is in our best interests to provide for them a good life in exchange.
Yes it’s refreshing to see. I just wish we all had that same compassion for human beings. It seems that some folks love animals but show hatred to humans.
Between Angus being such a good sport, the vet guy miraculously avoiding the pink stream constantly coming at him, the guy in the blue shirt with the bucket who may or may not have a mullet, and the guy in the sleeveless shirt on the gate who I very briefly thought was wearing Uggs, this was a great watch. I hope Angus is still doing well! He did such a good job!
I love how educational you are, and straight to the point! This guy must be feeling a million times better now that you got that mess out, thanks for doing what you do 😊
Thank you so much Darlin!! My mother is a retired nurse. There is a special place in heaven for you Angel's. Regardless of the religion! Nurses have been the saving grace to men's antics since the beginning of time!!
Everywhere and everyone is so worried about catching something that they don't seem to realise that the first thing you have to do in life is to start building an immune system. Nice work and I bet that big fella felt better after.
My dad passed away in my arms in September 2008. He was an extremely creative man an excellent dad and well, let's just say... authoritative. As a girly girl, I never wanted to put my hands in oftentimes questionable gunk. Dad would say, with a tone and inflection indescribable in this short format. I HATED IT!!!!! I mean HATED, LOATHED DESPISED when he said it that I'd 'bout get myself in real trouble complaining (authoritative remember). Fast forward a decade or 2 and I must confess to hearing myself say dad's favorite phrase. Times like in this video, where I hear this highly intelligent Vet explain the exact same reasons why "Hands were meant to be washed!" and it makes me miss my dad. He could prepare me for gunk but not a life without his guidance & humor.
1. Love the name Enoch. 2. Love how you’re big on not adding to the landfill! 3. Really cool, educational video. 4. You have a new subscribe! Thank you ☺️
That poor bull, I guess it hurts. Lived on a small farm in very very south Alabama. My first experience with large animals. Very interesting to a NYC gal.
OMG!! I have said it before, I will say it again... Enoch, you have got to be one of the most patient people I have ever seen. IF People would take the time to LISTEN to you they would know why no gloves (what the hell did we do before gloves, anyway?) AND they would also know why no sedation or numbing.... you just keep typing the answers over and over and over and over and explain and explain.... may I suggest you just copy and paste the answers to both of these "concerns" in the intro/information area then suggest at the beginning of each video for folks to READ IT BEFORE asking any questions!!!!! I just wish the people who have not been to vet school nor worked with farm animals quit trying to be the experts and just watch and enjoy a true professional AND expert do wonderful work! Thank you
@@trueheartfarm8831 I m on of those gemalen Carriers :-D, retired now die to EDS. Lover my work. But hard on the back. I m a small person( Heights eisen) so IT s less painfull for me. Anyway I didn t mind the hard work, IT s such a great profession and have helper a lot of horses
Oh god I love watching you, you have a weird sense of humor which I love and you get straight to the point it's bloody fantastic you must be married your wife must be laughing all the time you are just wonderful love it keep up the good work
Oh this poor boy. I think he finally got the message that you were trying to help him and he calmed down…”hey this feels a lot better…” so glad that he has you to help him!
It's so great to watch you good-looking men, working hard on a farm. And you have a great sense of humor thruout such a nasty job -- kudos for that, too! Much ❤ from MN!
I'm a physician and I've never worn gloves when doctoring my horses the one exception being pulling fat ticks off tails, ticks gross me TF out and pus-y ass tails would do me in, but you can't do shit with gloves on so I invested in a tick pulling tool believe Ii t or not
Hats off to Dr. Enoch! We were fortunate to have our vet Dr. 🦓 🐮 🐶 Zeh, large & small animal. And ea time when we called I was right there assisting & watching. Dr. Enoch & he are so much alike in mannerism, attitude & thoroughness AND explaining what caused problem as well as treating our animals (dairy, horses, dogs & cats). Oftentimes felt I should've went vet science vs. my RN degree studies... take a guess why lol. Jack was also good @ explaining human illnesses. If it were a large animal call, he was receptive to treating our felines/canines. I've seen too many vets that were crude.
This is the first video I've seen of them making the incision at the bottom area of the abscess and explaining why you should. I always thought "how is it supposed to properly drain?" when I seen them make the incision in the middle or upper area.
I wouldn't even worry about the no gloves comment you're the first person I've ever seen that actually takes the time to wash before they make the incision so you're doing great!
My 5 year old daughter was watching this with me and she said "mom that looks like strawberry ice cream, but i know its not thats blood." 😂. Just made me chuckle. Good job cleaning it out!
I too really enjoy your videos Dr. Bregman. I’m sure that bull realized how much you were helping him later. Keep on doing the great work Doc. Stay Healthy and Safe !!!
