I've been debating on a fuel tank for my 1992 W150 as well. It came out with a saddle tank on the driver side with a in tank fuel pump. But now I have a mechanical fuel pump 410 stroker carburetor. You have a great idea

Awesome stuff! I am trying a similar idea except utilizing a ford ranger tank to fit where the front plastic tank would sit on my dual tank model. Once I get that set where I like it, I think a bronco full size or 2 would fit in the rear position.

I would trim that metal so it's inside the edge of the frame so it is not catching debris, mud, water, rocks all the above sitting in between your frame and the steel plate

Unfortunately you are pretty far along with this, but I would suggest trying a Ram Charger tank. I think it would fit better, and if it’s metal and a Dodge tank, it will probably be Terne metal inside and less likely to rust. In any event, thank you for a very informative and interesting series. nice work. it will be interesting to see how the filler neck issue is resolved. Dumb question time...If you knew that a Dart tank would work from previous experience, why did you select a Mustang tank?
