It's on tires! After a year and a half of what feels like endless teardown and cleaning, I'm finally starting the reassembly of my 1974 Dodge Power Wagon with a new engine (5.9 Magnum) and new transmission (NP435)

I admire your skill set as well as patience. You tackled this custom work well and the results are showing. I like the method of how you take the time to explain each step. You are a talented one man crew. Wish I was your neighbour!

Awesome work! Been watching this come together for a while now. I have similar aspirations for my '76 D100.

Just finished getting the motor in my 1992 W150. I did a 410 magnum stroker NV4500 5 speed. Parts are so expensive and hard to find. Can't wait to see your truck finished

I wanted to do a 4500, but couldn't find one anywhere around me that was less than the price of a whole truck

@@YoshimoshiGarage I got lucky and bought my truck about 25 years ago. It came from the factory with a 5.2 magnum nv4500.

It's one thing to have the wrong parts, it's waiting for the correct ones to ship that bites.

The number of trips to the hardware store for expensive bolts is also horrible

@@YoshimoshiGarage I've been doing a little research on this myself, it sounds like a Magnum engine will drop into a '70s truck. Correct me if I'm wrong, but you can even use the LA bellhousing and mechanical clutch setup for a manual. Also, if you convert it to carbureted, you can use the '70s style engine harness. I know the magnum requires its own flywheel and stuff for balancing, but other than that am I missing anything to put a magnum in my 73 Power Wagon?

Yep, all the same mounts as an LA. The intake and heads are different, but there are aftermarket intakes that allow a carb (that's what I'm doing)
