Fabulous answer to my question, thank you both so much! I've seen those plastic timbers before but hadn't even considered them for this. Since my pool is already filled, concrete would be a bit tricky to pour in-place so I think I'll give the plastic a try. Cheers from Michigan!

Yo lo from Grant in Southern Africa. Would you believe i made an organic pond with plastic pallets cement and pond bitumen paint in an old pool. Gave it plenty time to dry and Bob's yer monkeys aunt it worked. A year on and all is well apart from the leg growing out of my shoulder. Inner frog embraced! You guys are brilliant. Thanks David for all the masterful yet somewhat comically hilarious videos. Blooming treasure trove. And sweet Sahrahrania.. you rock dude.

Love the Q&As and the highlights of Norfolk tour! On to my question: I have a sloping site (approx 1:20) and wonder if it best to dig away the slope to get a level base or build up to a level? Can see arguments either way. What are your thoughts?

Hi David and Sarah, I bought your fabulous guide which is bible (thank you so much). I see that you fill the "sand bags" with a concrete mix and use concrete in other parts of the pond (fixing the overflow). Are you able to confirm if it affects the pH in the long term? I haven't seen you doing pH tests in your video or book. Is it something you monitor? Thanks Jonathan

Hello there David and Sara, my name is sara ann, i live in Mississippi near the gulf coast usa. Ive been slowly hand building a plant filtered pool for about 4 years. It now has the liner in and i built a wooden retaining wall but it is floating a bit. I will be putting the piping and gravel in this week although there is already a good bit of water in the filter zone due to heavy rain this summer. Im wondering what advice you have for how to keep my wall from floating up. And also should i put the air supply in a circle or pipe each drain loop to the compressor separately? I have a very limited budget and have worked with reused materials as much as possible. Id love any advice and am happy to share photos with you if you want to give me and input! Thanks:)

Aquaponics needs high nutrient levels so doesn't fit very well with an Organic Pool. Make them both, but keep them separate.

Salute dragon swimmers. Well, at least one of you has embraced their inner frog that we know of. Not sure if Sarah has actually plunged through the refreshing plumes of coagulated algea yet? To my question, what is the best way to test water quality and when should we be concerned?

Thank you so much both of you! I just love you! What you are doing is 100% better than classic swimming pools full of chlorine. But do you believe it is still eco friendly to build swimming ponds while water is becoming so rare? Wouldn’t it increase evaporation and limit the water going back to the aquifer?

Hi Jonathan, An Organic Pool just delays the water on its way through water cycle. If fed from roof water it stores the water during downpours and gently releases it into the environment. This moderated flow helps water to be absorbed back into the ground without it rushing into the drains. Thank you for your kind message.

Hi guys Love the work and the chats I live in snowy mounts NSW Australia iwas woundering if i can use a 40 ft shipping container As i live on a slope block will it work Was thinking haveing a swim zone of 6m and at each end 3m of planted zone and about 1.5m deep Thanks Scott

Yes, containers have been used. It is just like a pool conversion.
