Qigong for Sensitivities and Anxiety with Jeffrey Chand
www.qigongforvitality.com/qigo...
There are many reasons to practice qigong. Amongst the most popular reason is anxiety and sensitivities.
Many people experience the symptoms of anxiety such as:
Panic, fear, and uneasiness
Sleep problems
Not being able to stay calm and still
Cold, sweaty, numb or tingling hands or feet
Shortness of breath
Heart palpitations
Dry mouth
Nausea
If you know that you are a sensitive or highly sensitive person, truly, awareness is the first step. Once you know you have sensitivities then you can work to build the skill of protecting yourself from your environment. In this video I discuss the concept of Maai, and go through an exercise called Playing with Water. Not surprisingly the exercise is very playful!
The 30 Days of Qigong is coming soon! Make sure you are on our email list so you know when it goes live!

After living my whole life wondering why I was "different" or " too sensitive" I recently discovered that I am a HSP. Thus I am researching all the ways I can integrate holistic methods into my life to help me cope with these feelings. Thanks for this video. Very helpful, as well as your video on addictions which helped me realize that I am yin deficient. I am a retired healer and have struggled throughout my life and career while helping others yet not able to fully heal my own issues. Understanding what it is to be a highly sensitive person has opened up a whole new perspective for me to help understand myself and why I respond the way I do to my outer world. I recently found your channel as I have been practicing Qigong for a while now and was researching different methods. Thank you for your clear and interesting style of teaching. I also love the older videos you made with the recipes! Many blessings....Sage 🌿

I really like the way you start your videos telling what you're going to do and then briefly explaining who you are and what you do. Better than boring people with a big long introduction about what you do and why you do it. One feels that the information given is really valuable and beneficial for our health. Thank you so much 😊

This exercise will help the body and mind desensitize and heal so we stop being hyper vigilant and more in the moment not noticing to many details that makes us anxious like over analyzing other people's behaviors in public places etc...And if it's a different exercise that can retrain the brain to less hyper sensible can you teach us please. Thank you 🙏❤

This is where I am at , have had a virtual total physical collapse from all the energies in the groups and places I go to for company to socialise and learn. My body just wont work any more so I have to stay at home eating well and resting and even the program has seemed to give me too much energy which I find difficult to use for my needs as I feel I have be out there ‘doing’ things for my communities who actually exclude me from special outings whilst one Community Manager having left me out of several events emailed me to demand I return to the group as they needed my energy which I felt was a big warning as when I did attend groups they were not very nice. I thought maybe as I am now 78 yrs it is too strong for me however I am so pleased you have explained what is going on in my body so that I can stay in the world and enjoy it too. Thank you for picking up on this dilemma as it really applies to me and my life to date. From diana watkins in the Qi Gong community.

Absolutely! The news has been causing people stress and overwhelm for a lot of people. It is not just recently, it has been a problem for quite a few years. Part of the problem is how visually overstimulating TV news can be with images, words flashing, and special effects. Our human brains aren't used to all of that! Let me know how qigong helps your sensitivity, I am sure it will!🙂

WOW man I love qigong, but I think I love you more. This technique is amazing, im someone who picks up on things to the extreme, and im always super anxious. This exercise made me feel like a million bucks. Im relaxed and very present. THANKS for your video! Ah to finish can you recommend me how I should do this exercise? I know theres alot of stuff in qigong as I have done quite a few things from it, but this technique is great. So would you recommend me to do this daily? Like once a day every day? Or is twice a day better? Just looking for your opinion on the jist of this and other tension/anxiety releasing exercises. Ah and when I do the exercise i do feel more centered and literally like my maihii field(or w/e you called it) is smaller/more centered.

Thanks so much! I would suggest practicing once a day to begin with. If you are feeling drawn to practice longer, "deeper" routines that will balance your entire system I would suggest exploring our practices in the Communi Qi. You can read about them here qigongforvitality.vhx.tv/browse We do have a specific program on anxiety. I would definitely encourage you to keep practicing, but also be gentle and balanced with your approach. Take your time and let your body and mind unwind :)

I believe the weight came on due to several months of extremely stressful situations. I believe the stress hormone cortisol caused weight because everything else is the same...good healthy home cooked diet free of chemicals and preservatives, and excellent supplements, high pH clean water. This was very interesting. Maii is a new concept for me, but I have talked about energy sphere with friends in the context of other people occupying your energy sphere and that some people are more sensitive to that than others. So this must be pretty much the same as maii, or..?even though that concept is coming from having space around you when fighting.. I wonder if it is possible to change this energy sphere or if you have to accept it and live with it, and to also see that is has some advantages. In a hunter/gatherer context the group needed some members with big energy spheres as they felt danger more quickly. today that is not filling the same purpose and can of course cause problems not because it is anything wrong (my opinion) but because we have such a weird society. But do you mean that having bigger maai is usually no good...and we can change it?

When it’s a video aimed at sensitivies maybe go easy on the sales pitch at the end. You’re just sharing good stuff I do know that, but I just calmed down only to become anxious again from the fast talking sales pitch. For the end talk please speak as slow and gently as you do in instructions, no need to speed through it.

Oh thank you so much!!! It's my "MY" that creates the anxiety I feel on a daily basis! I've never been able to understand it till now. This explains so much. Thank you for your videos. I took Qigong training years ago but stopped. I'm glad I found you channel because it's inspired me to start up my practice again. I feel amazing when I practice😆
