LOVE the empty gold frame leaning against fridge with a framed print inside it that brilliantly echoes the flower arrangement on top of fridge! A welcome addition to the beautifully colored the Dansk pots that ultimately had to be moved.
Thank you! The repost with corrections & gluten warnings is far better than letting this lovely episode disappear. Great! Yummy. I will now buy more tinned smoked sardines. Great poncho & necklace Elizabeth!
Never shut up Elizabeth! I can't decide if I like the banter or the cooking more! Added bonus is my puppy has gotten so used to listening to you guys, since I'll just put it on in the background and let it play whatever from your channel while I work, it's now the only thing that she'll fall asleep to for nap time. Calming music everyone recommended made her insane.
I got at 3:00 am to put my brisket on and had you guys on the tv while I got things going... was kinda comforting...and decided to make the tinned fish board for afternoon appetizers.
Just got my signed bag of coffee, thank you so very much it smell great. My husband and I watch live every week and all our friends and family know not to come visit when your show is on or they dont get to talk while they sit with us and watch.. LOL
I love this meal/menu idea! I grew-up eating "kippers on toast" with my father(still a comfort food), and my grandmother always had smoked oysters and mussels for holidays. I'll be putting together something like this for my son and I this weekend. :)
Love your videos. I'm the only one in my family who likes sardines, but I bet this would turn them around. My Dad introduced us to sardines and anchovies. We'd gross our friends out. Now they're a gourmet item. Made your french omelette last week. Delicious! LOL at your fake sneeze of the crap oven. We once had the same one. You be funny. Didn't see you live, missed the coffee offer : (
Alton...great for the coffee add in. I've been roasting my own coffee beans for almost 3 years now. And everyone tells me mine is way better than what they can normally get.
In the 60's, I ate a lot of sardines and saltines cuz my dad did. We always had "Tiny Tots" brand. They were very small and very tender, and so tasty whole sardines in olive oil. Can't find them today. Sooooo good. I now get King Oscar wild caught sardines from Amazon in EVOO and they are great. Melaney from SoCal
Missed the full episode of QQ earlier this week but had to let you go that I just saw the Reloaded episode about eggs. Had seen it before but didn't realize that it was Scabigale that was the chicken!!! 😃😃 Pretty funny & it didn't look like it bothered her at all🤣!!
Laxative commercial! 😂❤ I have a regional sweet and sour lentil stew recipe from here that might just be up your alley in this regard. It has prunes...Not good in a human stuck in a traffic jam, but for the ship it would have been great! Portugal really takes pride in high quality canned fish, they even serve it in bars as a snack. Which you probably already know, but maybe others here find it interesting, too.
I wont watch ANY cooking competition shows. They remind me of sports…cooking is ART not a sport. So please dont encourage any more competitive cooking shows. And i dont care if you chop or slice slowly. I will watch every second of your QQ and youtube-ing. Love you both and feel gifted for every showing. ❤
My kitchen isn’t tiny, but the last people who owned our house, put an island in that is just enormous. Too big for the kitchen, it’s like having a ship moored in there. Design & functionality is EVERYTHING.
I live in Putnam County, and I thought my Quitchen was small. I have a row of cabinets along the right but that;s basically my kitchen setup. Can't wait to buy my own place so I can customize my Quitchen.
I've been watching you from day one on Food Network... Your recipe's are the best. Thanksgiving wouldn't be the same without you! One hundred percent Texas and I know you are from the south. God bless you both!
Batdorf & Bronson does a Puddles Pitty Party Decaf for those that like Night Drink! It's quite good. May be good for night cap coffee boozy or after dinner bev.
Great show! Combining orange and egg seems different. I am inspired to try that and also to give sardines another chance.... Elizabeth, ... on pitting olives with limited tools, you may want to try pressing gently with blunt side of chef knife ....or press gently with anything if Alton is using the only knife... : ). I was tipped to do this after many tedious preps of large bowls of olives and it works ! I find it even better than a cherry pitter.
Anybody know the brand name of *tinned* Castelveltranos that have a *buttery* taste? Those are the best in my opinion. They sell countertop ice makers. Beaded collars have been around for centuries. You can buy books of beading patterns to help identify the approximate dates of your collar. It's not foolproof but it's a start.
I hope the 2 I ordered the other day during the live version were signed! The website kept going down! Also hope the roast is how I like it! It sounds like it’s a little lighter which is exciting! I do love Batdorf and Bronson but half of their blends are too dark for me. Excited to try this one. I still do the salt trick from good eats when it’s bitter. 😂💯
Elizabeth, I remember my mom had fancy collars that look like the one you're wearing. This was during the 1950s when I was a kid. Is yours a vintage piece? It's beautiful & haven't seen one since she used to wear them & fancy, sequined neckties too that were sewn to elastic rounds. I haven't seen those since but were very very cool.
Just received my coffee, ordered during the live episode. Did I do something wrong? Neither of the bags I ordered were signed. Did I get bags 401 and 402?
I would have purchased your coffee during the live broadcasts, however I cannot have caffinated coffee-only decaf due to medical issues. I did not see any decaf. Sorry. It does sound delicious, and probably smells like heaven in a cup!
Are the canned fish in water or oil? I'm very interested to try this because I love canned fish. Also, what's a good way to search for the good quality stuff?
Finally at age 61 got my first dose of Pfizer vaccine today, only thing I have issues with is my arm feels like it's about to fall off. I am supposing that Elizabeth got Moderna which has side effects that are considered "strong". I am glad I got Pfizer. I had to drive 2 counties away to get it but it's a done deal now.
ELIZABETH: if you read these, please consider this: since we're coming into spring, would you and the hubby consider using some "fridge pickles" in a recipe on a QQ night? ❤️❤️
First if all, #thevelvetloungelife heard Alton use the shi💩 word at least 4 times. 2ndly, I see a soecial coffee cocktail in your future featuring your new coffee blend. 3rdly, when I am on set in NYC you owe me a meal. 🍽️🤭 P.S. Elizabeth can set her phone so that phone calls will automatically go to her voicemail while you are filming.
Hey Alton & Elizabeth....sorry, I wasn't able to watch until now (feeling guilty for missing the live) .... I have a question about the coffee..... We live part time in Nicaragua and I adore the coffee there so, naturally I'm curious about where the beans are from???
Any idea how you’d approach a new diet requiring low/no salt? Noose or .44? Chefs never try it because it’s nearly impossible to create tasty food without sodium. This isn’t about a narrow butt, but a heart that doesn’t explode. ❤️ Thanks.
Hot dang ... sure I could handle all of your stuff... since we're fur baby babysitting please you make me smile and laugh now at My bottle of Chopin#vodka
Just rewatched your mango cutting demonstration after slicing 3 fingers and loosing roughly half a cup of blood... mangos are much more deadly than a over caffeinated rabid weasel (and I have a dachshund that acts like on...)
Now that you're doing coffee, why not do the I'm a ray of sucking funshine mugs with your caricature on it. I think that would be a gold mine opportunity. I'm glad to see you, Alton, with more meat on your bones. You were looking scary skeletor for quite awhile.
