Hello. Five days ago I got unexplainable hives covering 60% of my body,as days went by i was hoping for it to go away on its own. It didn't. So like always i went to RU-vid and typed " Dr. Berg hyves" this video came up. Right away went to vitamin store, 20 mins later I'm taking my quercetin, another 30 mins later i feel like a normal person for the first time in 5 days. I was scratching myself to the point of bleeding. Thank you for being our doctor.

@@sosad9381 hi, no. I have a genetic connective tissue disorder called EDS or Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. My skin, joints,.. Everything is affected. Additionally, my type commonly has a comborbit or additional condition associated with it called Mast Cell Activation Disorder. Mast cells live in many areas of our body, lungs, skin, and elsewhere. Mast cells are cells that contain histamine and several other chemicals that are normally released to combat an allergy. Think of bee sting and skin gets red and swollen. However, in MCAD, the mast cells are way over reactive, or releases chemicals when they shouldn't or release too much. This can cause hives, breathing issues, drawing on your skin called dermatographia and more. I also have eczema which is very itchy and for me, can be painful. I encourage you to look up more natural ways to control allergies and listen to Dr Berg more. I've learned things I didn't learn in school (Medical field but not a Dr!). Blessings

Ate a huge pile of it with some protein and I just slept through the night for the first time in weeks. Always up for inhaler between 1-3am due to viral induced and allergy induced asthma. Vitamin C is also an excellent natural antihistamine. Again, contraindicated in high amounts during pregnancy. I feel stuck with having to take claritin now

I agree with the other comment here. I'd be taking quercetin and vit c over Claritin any day even pregnant. Claritin restricts your blood vessels, i dont even think it would be on the 'approved during pregnancy' list 🤔 almost all drugstore cold meds are not considered safe 🤷🏼‍♀️

With gut allergies/intolerance, the feeling in the gut has an effect of feeling awful, but as if you want to keep eating. I know, sounds strange, but it's true. I don't know anything about that company but what I do know is that around 80% of all supplements are fake. Because they are not FDA approved it somehow legally allows them to lie about what is in their products. So you gotta find a company that has been verified for purity by a 3rd party. This usually means that you have to pay quite a bit more - but it also means you get what you are trying to get. I would recommend a company but I haven't searched for one concerning this supplement yet.

After 20 years of taking Benedryl I now find myself Histamine intolerant. So I stopped. Histamine intolerance really bites. So many foods create histamine in the body. It's intense, I take it with high-fat yoghurt because of low bioavailability. However I only take about 250mg-500mg, it's enough. It's hard to describe the effect, but it contributes to an overall more "normal" feeling. I originally got interested in it because it has an effect on adenosine receptors for dopamine increase.

I’ve been taking quercetin complex since 2001 for spring allergies. In 2000 I had 3 sinus infections (or 1 that never quite went away until the 3rd dose of antibiotics) and almost entirely lost my sense of smell for a year. I had been taking prescription antihistamines and always developed infections after about a month, which I think was listed as a side effect. An herbalist suggested quercetin complex which also contains bromelain, citrus bioflavenoids, vit c. It works very well for me. Just quercetin alone was not as effective for me.

@@XwhatshesaidX the biggest thing i experienced is learning to cut out high histamine foods and histamine liberators foods. 2 different lists. No canned foods. No store bought broths. No common snack foods store bought. It helps a lot. I make fresh homemade soup. Cut carbs. Try B FREE bread sold in walmart and krogers. Or make homemade gluten free bread, biscuits. Etc. . Diogenes II - i'll look into all of these thanks. I didnt know there were more natural options that were effective. I've always breathed through mostly one nostril so assumed it was some type of deviation in my nose. The last few years however, in the fall, Ive noticed more of a pressure build up along with headaches. When I bent over to pick something up i could really feel it. However i didnt have any other symptoms that would indicate allergies. No nasal drip or what I would categorize as 'mucous', sneezing or anything. Seems to be the worst in fall though. I thought some type of membrane could be swollen like adenoids or something. Have tried eliminating dairy in past as well with no improvement. I'll look into these and see what an appropriate dosage would be for temporary relief and not for prolonged usage 👍🏼

Avoid sinus medication that makes your nose dry. You are not allowed to take Sudafed or Benadryl while breastfeeding. I do think that jalapenos pickled or in salsa clean the sinuses naturally and these aromatic herbs like cilantro, parsley and rosemary and red onions can alleviate symptoms. Can you stomach a hot dog with sauerkraut, red onions, and jalapenos?? Your fall allergies could be due to pollution not the Fall pollen thus you may want an air filter for your bedroom and home furnace filter that filters pollution, smog and smoke (Wal-Mart)

Stuff works my naturopath put me on one called D-Hist for an allergic rash I had and the “side effect” was it cured my seasonal allergies! My seasonal allergies were like a million times worse than the rash I went to see her for so it was kind of a god send. I have to take up to 6 capsules a day to keep allergies at bay in season, if you forget to take them you can have a break through attack which sucks but there is zero sensation from taking these things unlike otc remedies. I did read somewhere that quercetin was developed by the military which concerns me as I was in and I don’t have a lot of faith in them other than destroying stuff so take at your own risk

@CaraWeston
@CaraWeston 4 года назад
Well, remember quercetin occurs naturally in food, so just because the military decided to make a supplement out of it doesn’t automatically make it worthy of suspicion. It looks like in this case they were trying to help personnel perform better with a natural substance. Dr. Berg did make a point of saying there are no side effects.
@JH-lz4ky
@JH-lz4ky 4 года назад
Cara Weston yes uranium is naturally occurring also. Look Iv been taking this stuff for over two years I have very little choice. When you’re taking 6 capsules a day you should consider the possibility that there could be long term health effects. You don’t have to agree with me but this is my view in light of the fact that there hasn’t been a long term study on its use. I used to drink tons of orange juice fully convinced that it was good for my health so Iv cultivated a certain amount of skepticism. I can say for sure that it has the ability to make my debilitating seasonal allergies go away. So I give it a thumbs up but I wish I didn’t have to take anything
@JH-lz4ky
@JH-lz4ky 4 года назад
Peter Fitzpatrick what the military has to do with it, as I stated, was that they were involved in developing it. I’m not saying this is some kind of smoking gun but I’d prefer if this were a natural unprocessed substance with a long history of usage as a folk remedy rather than coming from a military lab somewhere. If you don’t share my reservations good for you.
