Thanks for the contact, Aaron. I was the P2P, running 10w on a KX2. Your videos have helped me head-copy CW better and gave me the confidence to get out and activate using CW only. 73! - K2MJP

At 0545, my Ham Alert went off on my cell phone. I got out of bed and fired up my rig in the cold garage to see if I could hear you. You were 219. I was able to hear some of the hunters but you were very difficult to make out so I didn’t try. Maybe some day I’ll make a contact. 73 from CA. 😊KA6VVD

As I've gotten older, my winter activating is usually from inside my car as well, usually running 50 watts or so using an easy to deploy EFHW while the car is still running. Then when i get in the car I don't have to get out to switch bands. You have the ATAS and can do the same thing. Good to hear you yesterday and get you in the log. 73 de KN3A

It’s nice to have options, the ATAS is just so easy haha. It’s my “I’m feeling lazy” antenna. TU for the contact & 73!

I operate from my truck cab when the temps are below about 35, or there's precipitation. Can't wait for warmer days to get back outside. But I was nice and toasty in my shack for our contact this time. --n1bs

For power, were you using an external battery, or was your car running?

I was using a 10Ah LifePO4 battery. I don’t have a permanent HF mobile installation, I set up the same as portable, just inside the truck. Hah 73!
