📝 Detailed Breakdown:
The supplies we will need for today’s project are the 5.5” Fixture and Mighty Hoop which are included in the 5.5” Mighty Hoop Start Kit and can be bought separately. Addition to that, we will need stabilizer. Due to how large and dense this design is, I went with two sheets of 3.0oz cutaway stabilizer for longevity of the design. Once we have everything, we can get the bottom hoop in place and lay the stabilizer on top. This will be held in place with the magnetic tabs. Once that is in place, you can carefully align the shorts over the bottom hoop and position the garment how you would like it to be embroidered. Because this design takes up the whole hoop, I take my time with this step as I won’t be able to make adjustments on the machine. If you design is much smaller than the hoop, you can simply get the shorts squared up to the hoop then align the position separately on the machine. Once satisfied, simply press the top hoop down and remove the whole assembly to bring it over to the embroidery machine.
Once at the machine, make sure to invert your design as we have hooped the shorts upside down. Then simply press go after selecting your tension, speed and other appropriate settings. After the embroidery is complete, you can remove the hoop and shorts from the machine and finish the clean-up process on a table. I use a lighter to singe down the tie off threads on the back of the design. However, I HIGHLY recommend that you use scissors if you are uncomfortable to avoid damage to the design, shorts or worse. After that, I trim the excess stabilizer closely to the design and round over any corners for nicer wear. Once all that is complete, congratulations! You have added custom embroidery to your shorts and they are ready to be worn.
