Hey Nick, quick correction: There is no water injection. The water is sprayed on the intercoolers to cool the air down. PS: I work for Porsche, that's why I had to make this correction ;) greetings from Germany, I like your videos!

The speed of that PDK is nothing short of incredible. I love manuals. I've only owned nothing but. But seeing that PDK in action, well, it makes me a believer.

Why? Are you getting paid based on your lap times? The PDK is extremely boring and takes away control of the car. Nothing like a great heel toe downshift that you can't get with a fast automatic

maxpowers3732, yes, I agree. However, many engines are now being designed for PDK transmissions. Having a car that can do a quarter mile 0.3-1.0 second faster makes the car much more visceral. I love manuals. If I could afford a Porsche I would purchase a manual. However, in some applications, manuals may not be as enjoyable due to amount of torque, like the GT-2 or an engine that has specific rev range were the optimal power is within.

I have those same seat belts 991 turbo. I thought the same but they are Gaurds red. Porsche just changed the color of them. 😕 carmine Red is much darker. I’m glad you were able to drive one 😊

Question about the water injection. Does the engine knock when using high octane gasoline/petrol? If so, is that the reason Porsche included the water reservoir?

Nick, It is true what you said, and it is sad in a way, that in normal everyday driving, my 991.2 911 turbo S is less fun that my 991.1 911 4S. The engine sound is less satisfying and all at once you find yourself going 100 mph without that feeling of torque that we love. I am not a "track" person so its performance is something that I am sure that I am not fully appreciating. It is such a pretty car, I feel bad that I do not like it more.

Porsche used to run the engines at the factory, so the break in period was pretty much done when the dealer got it, but i can only guess that as they have kicked up production that they are trimming on the time it takes to make them, meaning that you will have to break it in yourself. That must be painful to have to wait 500 miles before reving past a certain RPM range or going past a certain speed. It must also be nice to have someone watching the road for you (the Toyota that came up behind you) =) Cheers Nick

Hello Nick !I am a Porsche fan, and this thing (GT2 RS), is the only Porsche car that can touch the McLaren 720s at performance ! And yes ... the GT3 and GT3 RS are the overall best cars for enjoyment and plesure of driving !ps: You choose the best 911 for the money ! Your Carrera 4s is amaizing ! Gratings for Romania, and scuze me for the bad english ! Keep up the good work !

Yes, this GT2 RS is so low it requires you to use the front axle lift by pressing the Porsche Sport Exhaust button!!! Seriously tho, that thing is gorgeous, even in Guards Red. Beautifully optioned!

Another good taster, thanks Nick. Definitely not a daily driver, but if you can afford one of these you've probably got an Audi RS6 as your daily. One sad fact that shows why modern Sports GTs (yes they are hybrids - not in the electrical sense) will never match sports cars of old, or even older 911s, for driving connection, is that despite all those (token) weight reductions, its still over 1500kgs!

The water injection is lowering the intake mix temperature, so they can compress more before igniting thus raising efficiency and power without destroying the engine (no auto ignition). The car you want is the 997.2 GT RS. Manual, hydraulic steering, shorter wheelbase and indirect injection normally aspirated engine. Heaven. 2:59 Canon camera? Canon "loves" reds. And show them more like orange.

The manual states a 2K mile break-in keeping it under 4K rpms. Where was that red lettering of the "GT2-RS" on the front lip done?

Hey Nick... Let’s chat. Got some questions on that GT2 RS and some info to help in your next review. The water is for evaporative cooling of the intercoolers. Water doesn’t get injected into the cylinders. I’m also curious where the owner got the carbon fiber parts on front and back. Maybe I can drive mine down to you and put them side by side.

Porsche Turbo S sounds pretty good in Sport PLUS mode and even sport as shifts are quicker.........I traded a GT3 for a TTS for more usability, although it will lose value quicker, but I will drive it more and probably hold it for years to come as I have held my 993 for 20 plus years for the NA effect and 6 speed manual.......the TTS is ridiculously fast so I can't imagine 700 horses with the same torque level as the 991.2 TTS........

The comment "take a long time to learn to handle the power on a track" is a good thing. The car is supposed to be exciting and thrilling, and the fastest street car you can get - of course its supposed to take a while to learn to drive it.

Good question, still I don't think you could drive this car anywhere near freezing as it is hard enough in good weather.

The older STI's have a distilled water reservoir for spraying the intercooler and I usually keep it half filled just in case it does freeze so it wont expand and crack the tank.

You have to completely drain the water tank and lines if you want to drive it in below freezing weather. This is not a car for cold weather. The tires are too slick in the cold anyway.
