Competition wise most people in BJJ prefer a light gi, because for most tournaments you have to weigh-in with the gi.

​@C J Nah, you are wrong. Since my last post, I bought a Suparaito in A2L. Only cold wash and hang dry it fits me nearly perfect at 5'10" and 164 pounds. That TWO length categories longer than the A1 and yet I'm only 1" taller than the model in the video. I could use about 1 more inch in shoulder width, but I probably have wider shoulders than average for my height.

G PCM Trying to understand that myself. I’m almost exactly the size of the model and dunno whether to get the a1 or a2 now.
