Great ending, wonderful sun set. the other night NBSR was moving so slow, even with 4 SD-70m-2's they were unpowered. they were pulling 26 cars of wall board among other cars.

Southern Pacific was the only Class 1 railroad that allowed trainmen to have system wide seniority. They also provided us with a boxcar, if desired, to move from one division to another. I once moved from Tucumcari, NM to Roseburg, OR at no cost. I even stored the boxcar in the Roseburg yard for nearly three months while my new home was in escrow. Loved the S.P.👍

Is Alter cutting up every former mill and mine in the area? They sure seem to ship a lot of scrap for a barely populated area!

I have several trips planned for the U.P. This summer !! One is an Amish church run visit . Soulte st Marie

With all of the work trying to get LP back on course I guess that Alter got skipped on one of those trips. Sometimes it is amazing how scrap metal can start piling up quickly especially if they were averaging almost 20 cars a week. Truly a beautiful sunset where you were and the sound of a crackling fire it looks like it was a pleasurable time. To think that those rocks get moved around in those turbulent Waters for centuries and finally the water pushes them onto the shore Nature at its best. Of interest those 6 TPPX gons with the logs that went SB by you we're in the Fox River Valley on the CN Within 48 hours. See Mallard Ducks L523 as that train also has logs off the CN on private Flats as the local heads towards Kaukauna

There will be a limited speed through your nieghborhood due to the track conditions. I would think the slow speed could eventually affect their ability to move cars quicker to whatever destination they have. You'd think they would rebuild that stretch to out general safety purposes for the community, for crew safety and railroad itself.

What are they doing at that field? Is alter metal expanding?
