I started using it out of necessity… one my BetaFPV boards wouldn’t show proper gyro data in Betaflight, so I never was able to even arm, but worked perfectly fine in 🥑 After some experimentation and tuning without blackbox I absolutely fell in love with it. Thanks to BetaFPV for selling me a broken board, I never would have become a pro at 🥑, I was using it rarely prior to that, and was not proficient in every setting, now I got it, and for what it is, it is an amazing firmware! The auto turtle caught me out at first, but it is so damn fast. I am down and up in barely over a second. I also like how I can arm with throttle up and then lower to zero to start motors, works super well in a few tricky maneuver situations. Thank you for the overview! For everyone else… if you are reading this, you owe it to yourself to give this firmware a try. It is super fun on little quads, and once you get the hang of everything, takes a day or two, you’ll really enjoy it. Happy flying!

- Auto-turtle (the big one for me) - Earth based Yaw (will be in BF 4.4 or 4.5 too) - Ability to control Angle/Level controller more finite. - Templates are nice for some BNF. - Idle Up easy on a switch (vs. Airmode). Whooping is a lot of bumping. - etc...

Thanks for the video. Looks like I flashed QS to my Fractal 65 a few days early lol. It's not that hard to figure out (I had to use an older version as .95 has elrs 3 and I'm still on 2.x because of spi whoops). I'm pretty sure I'll be making a lot of changes to my whoop fleet and finally upgrade all my ELRS rx's to 3.x. It looks intimidating at first, but once it's set up I noticed a difference in performance. QS is easily worth learning if you like whoops. Cheers!

Man, i used to run silverware alot, had my own custom compile. I think i may have been the first to put a port on a bwhoop brushed board instead of soldering the leads to flash... its come a long way baby.

I loaded this on my Mobula 6 HDZero thats essentially stock with lighter canopy/plastic motor screws and it flys SO much better. I used the default 65mm 1s PID tune and it flys better then any of my other Betaflight quads ever did. Just feels really locked in acro. It's also super easy to learn as it's stripped down vs Betaflights options for just racing/freestyle. Now have about 7 quads running it and I have heard it works well on larger quads so today I'm going to try it on my Crux35.

Brushed + Silverware + Mockingbird - I still can't find a brushless whoop that flies anywhere close to the Brushed Hummingbird with the Silverware/Mockingbird configuration. Does such a thing exist today? Any active project to move these advancements forward? Perhaps not since there is not much money in the F0 Flight Controller market but thought I'd toss the question out there and see.

Hey Mark, so Quicksilver is the GoTo choice for tinywhoops, right? Even if it looks like having less features than BF? Like dynamic idle, RPM filtering, etc? I flashed QS to my 75mm 1s whoop, I felt it became more responsive, but I also got little less flight time compared to BF. It felt like a BF with increased PIDs, but I liked it. I'm running stock BLheli_S 24khz, do you recommend flashing Bluejay with 48/96 khz?

I was soo excited to try this, so my sacrificial lamb was BetaFPv Meteor65 ELRS (2022). Everything was smooth, even figuring out how to bind. But 2 problems: 1) Flight modes, all I got was ACRO and Horizon. Is there more? 2) when applying throttle, it would get 1/2 inch off the ground, then super yaw spin! I even applied the BMI270 super tip. I then had to reflash all my BF stuff to see if the gyro was screwed. It was fine like I thought it would be. Maybe I try one of the preset Mobula6 SPI elrs that is listed. BTW, I love the tech you do and your style. I think I did use one of your whoop presets in BF. But now I can put a face to the tune. 'had a hard time with QS on my first go around about a year ago. 2nd time with a different FC; no problems. feels like a brushed silverware on angle mode. fun

Hey 👋🏽 I have an Quicksilver related question 🙋🏻‍♂️ I have an HM 1S 5A ELRS 200 mW board and QS shows me 5 power levels in the Configurator.. Level 1 must be 25 mW, level 2 is ?! mW ? can level 5 be more than 200 mW ? but will level 5 fry my board then ? it's like the orig. Mobula 6 board with BTFL, which only could do 25 mW but you could set it to 100 mW and it indeed has more range but it wasn't recommended, because you could fry your board.. didn't tried out the OSD yet, to see if there are also 5 power levels..

I've heard a lot of good about Quicksilver so I was curious about this video, hoping to see why, as the title says, it's the best whoop firmware. The video started in a promising way: I was eager to hear what I have been missing out. But.. after watching the whole video, I don't think I really got an answer. The video is mostly about flashing the firmware and an overview of the configurator. While it's useful for setting up Quicksilver, it did not feel like the actual reason to use Quicksilver. I recall automatic turtle mode was mentioned. Sounds sweet, how does it look and feel in action? But in addition to that, there must be something else I've been missing out, what?

if you can't find the BF target name in QS, I would ask on the QS Discord. My guess is they don't have the target yet if you can't see it there.

Thanks for the video Mark! Definitely something to tryout! I have the TinyHawk 2 with Crossfire and the new BetaFPV Meteor 65 Pro (2022) with Crossfire that I may convert to QickSilver. At the start if your video you mentioned that the best feature of QS is had automatic Turtle Mode, but unless I missed it, I did not see where that feature is set? Thinks.

Yeah. QS has had for a while. There is just other stuff. Like 3 or 4 things that BF doesn't have right now that are really nice whooping.

Oh yes it’s been my go to ever since spi elrs; made it effortless to get rigs I couldn’t tune fo the life of me on bf4.3 to fly like butter. Super responsive dev and support as well, had bugs fixe, new targets made and features implemented within hours if even Moved over all my BNF to it; I don’t know if anyone else doing it and it does bring some support cases to get folks going but once they do I get nothing but shiny happy testimonials Guacamolize your quad today with Quicksilver 🥑

It doesn't seem to support the Ghost protocol for receivers. Won't recognize it and as the Serial Protocol cycles through, it never shows anything for Ghost.

This did not work for me. I flashed the Quicksilver firmware on my Betafpv 85 pro 2. Now Quicksilver does not recognize that my quad is connected. Tried to restore betaflight firmware and cannot connect. So i can't recommend using this firmware.

I tried to setup QuickSilver, but I noticed the aux channels only work as on or off. I was unable to get QuickSilver to work with my radio as it's setup to do multiple modes on 1 aux channel. Bummer, it seemed like a really cool firmware.

@@ArakNafein if using openvtx or edgetx on your radio you use the special functions screen. Pick a switch to use, set it in the position you want certain channels to activate and add those channels, one per special function. Example would be Switch SE in middle position in this case is Arm(ch5-150) and Level(ch6-150) and Racemode(ch7-150) so a single position of a 3 way switch is activating 3 channels at the same time. Bardwell has a video about it, I can't paste images here unfortunately.

Should there be? Of course things should be better than other things! :P IS there an improvement in angle mode from Betaflight. 1000%. I could go into great detail, but suffice it to say that QS re-thought how Angle mode works and improved it in every way...and coupled with a lot of the modern thoughts BF, Emu and and others have done with filtering, etc, you have a very easy to tune quad that performs amazing.

It has to have a target name in front of that. That is the processor type. QS does support the F405, but need to know the target nane in BF to see if exists in QS.
