The cinewhoop tune "fully loaded" (48khz, rpm filtering, high build quality, ultra cinematic) is a dream to fly. Thanks for making these updates easier and easier to follow along with.
Wow... My Darwin tinyape came with base betaflight settings and it flew OK with a few wobbles here and there. I applied your 2s 3" toothpick preset and it made a WORLD of difference! So smooth and stable! Makes this budget drone feel like I paid way more for it! I'm excited to start dialing it in. Thanks!
Thanks for all these wonderful preset and tuning options in BetaFlight. Was new to the Hobby a year ago now and since 4.3 these have been amazing to get a base tune/set up on all my quads. Haven't tried to do advanced tuning yet, always swing by here and JB's site for all my uber techie needs and explinations. Really appreciate all the work folks like you do to help out new and vets to the hobby. Cheers!
Nice! Thanks for taking the time to make this video! I’m new to betaflight and just wrapping my head around some of the more involved parts of BF. I’m OK with the basics of setting up a new FC, just haven’t played with tuning yet.
Thanks Mark! I really liked your 4.3 Preset on my 5" quad. I plan on flashing 4.4 this week and will try out your new stuff. Thanks for doing the work man.🤙🏾🙌
Using your presets on all my builds now. They work so well. I have a Cinelog20 I swapped the FC in. I am running your 250-300 cinewhoop (96hz, high quality build, RPM filters, and Dynamic thrust. Works like a champ.
Which preset you used? I want to update me Chimera 7 to 4.4. but it is around 1300g with a liion and a gopro and the one I found for 7'' is up to 1000g
Sweet. I suck at tuning and have built and have in my "hanger" just about every size, long story. ( seriously from 55mm all rhe way to the Iflight xclass 950mm) But biggest I fly regularly is 6in. Above that it really helps if you know what you're doing. Thanks for these in advance Mark. Oh and" quality" build tab... 👌. I ain't perfect. I try but shit vibrates different from frame to frame
I assume securing a stack with soft mounts, fixing TX's firmly to the frame, having shorter twisted wiring and the like would make for a "clean build" with less vibration and if so having a stupid EMAX Pagoda-2 attached for the VTX instead of a smaller antenna might drop that down to medium? lol
Hi Mark, thanks for that great video! I'm using your presets since early days of 4.3 and I'm very happy with it, additionaly saves a lot of time. One question: What if I decided to change a preset. Lets say if I picked "5" race quad" tune and now put a GoPro on it. Can I just do an "overwrite", pick the preset for the heavier "5" freestyle quad with GoPro" and go with it? Or should I reflash first and setup from scratch?
I hope it's ok using your 1000g-1400g preset which is for 8 inch on my 7 inch quad. It's because it weighs 1200g. So far, I tried it this evening just crusing back and forth in front of my house, and fast, it looks smooth. The motor was warm but not hot, just like a little warmer than human's body temperature. I'll do a real flight test tomorrow.
Thanks Mark! I'm surprised the conversation about build quality focused on soldering rather than peripheral component mounting or prop health. How bad does a soldering job need to be to affect vibrations?
Thank you for this video and all you presets - Noob question warning: If i save my existing BF 4.3.1 setup by using the “save preset” option and then load your preset for BF 4.4 and then for some reason i mess up and want to go back to my original 4.3.1 BF setup, can i just load that preset and it will take me back albeit it’s to an older version of BetaFlight? Or does that only work within 4.4 or 4.3 only. And is saving a preset better, or saving a “Diff All” CLI text file, or saving a “Dump” CLI text file? Thanks 🤘
Hello, thanks for the great information. I would like an orientation, I want to have good buoyancy when doing splits and that the drone does not fall too quickly. It is for a 5 inch fpv drone. Thank you.
Put the your 8/9/10 preset on my brand new build and burnt up all my motors on the first flight. Was an iflight 8” with emax eco II 2807 motors 1500kv. Did not enable dynamic idle or bidirectional dshot. I used high quality build. Was brand new motors brand new fc esc and brand new hq 8x3.7x3 it flew really good on stock tune before I added your preset. Thought it would be even smother on the prop wash. Guess not.
New follower after watching this …if asking to much I understand…have flown bnf for two years jus built my first drone (aos5”w/o3 and Axisflying Argus pro stack) it flys good jus not like the bnf which is very disappointing…I’m on 4.3 but can flash to 4.4 if needed …recommendations on presets you would select …thanks for your time an knowledgeable videos
Hey Mark! Ihave a question about tuning. I just built my first 6" 6s quad and I am trying to find a decent tune. I'm running 2406 1650kv motors and my weight (w/o battery is 465grams. with battery 690-785 grams. I set my PWM Low frequency to 48khz. Do you have any recommendations on a pre-set tune that would be a good starting point? Thank you for making these videos!
I’ve just watched your post on UAV presets overview. I recently purchased another quad, a Darwin. Cine ape 25 with Walksnail avatar Mini,,it arrived from the factory with a flight controller that was corrupted, and I was able to reflash and get it working. My question to you is, do you have on presets somewhere a tune for this particular model? Thank you. Bob Griffith, Florida
I am trying to use the 10" tune. Works decently, however my t5 3115 get suuuuuuuuper hot. May I ask what BL32 settings you use? Motor timing etc etc.? Thanks so much if you happen to see this.
@@uavtech I tried the betaflight 4.4 preset today and the Pavo 25 continues to do the same fail as with 4.2 and 4.3... when removing the gas in a dive the drone accelerates for a few seconds, it makes me desperate and I don't know what it can be, I have the original components of the Pavo 25. Could it be that the FC is defective? Can you help me plz?
@UAV Tech thank you so much. Cause I want to go back to betaflight now on my 7/8" I thought inav rth be better which sometimes it is. But where I fly I'm finding a lot of compass interference. And I don't use position hold that much. Rarely when taking goggles off.
Mark, running your preset tune for the 7" long range quad. The thing is, sometimes when I flip the switch to arm the quad with the throttle stick all the way down, the quad tends to lift up. What do you thinkg I should adjust to prevent this?
Any chance you can make BF4.4 tunes for some of the popular BNF quads? iflight Evoque, Geprc Mark V, etc. I have an iFlight Nazgul Evoque 6" Deadcat. Your 6"/7" kinda works. Best tune I can find at least. Your 5" Freestyle with GP works perfectly on my DIY 5" Banger!
@@uavtech It came with a great tune for 4.2. When I updated to 4.3 and tried bringing over the tune, it never flew the same. I want 4.4 for the GPS RTH if nothing else.
Personally I don't get sense of tuning presets. Every build is so different, there is so many variables that makes generic presets hard to apply. I've read so many times in forums that some newbie just applied preset and has burned motors. I think the only valuable presets are about setting up peripherals like HD vtx, maybe RC link... that's it. If user wants to have quad tuned well, he need to do it the right way.... ;) cheers :)
Hey, I just came back cause I use an older crocodile 7hd plus from geprc.. but updating it to bf 4.4.2 the defaults where horrible. Now I want to use youre preset but it says minimum size motors 28xx Mine are 2306.5 1350kv So It's not recommended I use the tune preset. I know the newer geprc's come with propper tunes.. but this old one does not.. leaves me kind of hanging.
yup, to increase performance. It depends how hard you will be flying that 7". Many times, those are not flown hard, so it may be fine regardless. If you do say have any really fast bounceback (hard to see) on flips or rolls, increase Damping. If you want better prop wash performance, increase Master Multiplier.
@@uavtech thnx.. it wont be flown hard as in freestyle. But the wind can be harsh where I am. Thats why I think its so wobbly in the cam. It will be used for cinematic style filming.
Dynamic idle made my nazgul5 v2 fly terrible when in low throttle. Like it wasn't responding to my throttle commands from 25%-40% at all. Anyone knows why?
Hi, When i look at the presets I can't find the exact one's what i see in this video. For example i only find your 7 inch tune :- 700g version not the 700-1000g verion what is visible in the video. Also like the half of them is not showing to me. I applied your name as a filter. The 500-550g is not there either. What could be the reason? Thank you , and keep up the awesome work!
