@@InWeCome well having natural masks (or something that would reduce the spread by a similar amount) would definitely be an evolutionary advantage, but so would the ability to regrow limbs and eyes facing in every direction, just because something would be beneficial doesn't mean that it can or will evolve. Also we sort of did evolve masks, our nose does act as a filter to some degree so even if you disregard that being beneficial does not have to be an evolutionary advantage it still doesn't really work.
