Story 2: that father has the perfect reason to get full custody of those kids, and he should, because this kind of thing happens often so she's obviously not a fit parent
Agreed. A good lawyer will get the security tape & police report details & rake that b**** over the burning coals. Some women have no business having children.
Story 2: I almost choked to death as a kid too, that "mother" is a fucking monster. The only thing that saved my life was my own mother who has been a nurse my whole life. I cant even begin to imagine my mother just screaming her head off while I slowly die.
i can imagine it. my mother was a narc. only cared when she was sick/hurt. my dad was mostly absent, but at least i had his help thru some health problems/scares in my life.
I had to call 911 when my dad was choking. He'd gone off to eat in another room in a huff about something dumb, and the rest of us were at our table talking. I suddenly heard odd gurgle noises for a moment and directed people to it, and someone got up to check, only to find him choking. I ran to the phone immediately as others panicked at first. Thankfully my brother successfully administered the Heimlich maneuver, but it was a terrifying few minutes. Takeaway? Yeah, anyone can choke. Also, don't go sit in a room alone to eat. I have lasting trauma and get super anxious when I know someone is eating with no one else around.
Story 2: OP and Manager can't be at fault since they already warned EM about the large bubblegum. Also, how would EM be able to lie in a public place filled with people and cameras? A divorce is approaching because she clearly is a bad influence.
People like that will always try to twist the story and people's perception of it. While eyewitnesses aren't that reliable (because perceptions of the same event differ from person to person), cameras tell an unbiased story and you'd be surprised how often people forget about those eyes in the sky.
I'm not giving much points to the dad either. He seems to know that she can be neglectful, but still lets her take the kids and... waits in the car or outside or something? And only comes in when there's commotion? Yes, she is to blame but he seems only to care after the accident.
The mom who refused to let their child stay in an extreme weather condition deserves the bad care she will receive as she ends up in the states worst nursing home.
One of the best bumper stickers I've ever seen reads "Be good to your children, Someday *they* will be choosing *your* nursing home." I've heard of cases of elder abuse that made me wonder if it wasn't karma coming up and biting Gertrude or Gary in their wrinkly ass.
I can understand her not wanting the dog there. I refuse to pet-sit my sister's dog because he is badly trained, very vocal, sheds, has no concept of human food not being his, and is VERY needy and clingy. Having said that, my sister only asks me to pet-sit if she's going on holiday or to an overnight event, or something similar. That's something social she's choosing to do, so I consider it not my problem - therefore he can stay in a kennel at my sister's expense. If it were an emergency situation, like OP's, of COURSE I'd take him in.
As a pet owner with a dog breed that sheds heavily, I can honestly tell you dog hair ends up everywhere. I can literally be dusting a mirror above my head and think, "how did dog hair end up here"? The OP's proclamation that he/she cleans up after the dog is exaggerated at best. Sure you can sweep and mop the floors, but unless you are going to do a full house spring cleaning you are not going to clean the house of dog hair. There is going to be dog hair in every crevasse of the furniture, in the blinds, on your clothes, and even in your heating vents so it gets spread throughout the house. Now with that said, could the Mother let the OP stay and put the dog in a isolated room in the house? Probably. But unless the OP was staying in that room too, the dog will go into distress and whine and scratch at the door. Hell, my current dog once destroyed three interior doors just to get in rooms. You can say the solution would have been for the OP and the dog to stay at a pet friendly hotel. Well, the OP didn't have the money and it sounds like the OP's mom didn't have it either. I'm not saying what the Mom did is right, but at the same time I suspect Mom also didn't want the OP getting a dog knowing fully well that at some point she would be asked to take care of it. Having pets is a big responsibility and people who live alone don't understand that it becomes a huge problem caring for them when things go south. And then people do like the OP did and guilt trip the hell out of friends and family to deal with their problem. The OP talks about being out of work, but also mentions living in a home without central heating. And yet you bring a dog into this environment knowing fully well winters can become harsh. That is entitlement.
@@superdave8248 those are my thoughts as well, I still think of the same position I would’ve taken her in, but OP didn’t sound like an angel in this situation
When I was a kid, my mom would take my brother and I to this convenient store nearly every morning before school when she had us in the mornings. That store had some of the best deli food in the world(ex. My mom hates corn dogs but loves the ones they serve). We would chat with the workers wish them good morning, talk about this or that, and just be friendly. The owners were always super nice and happy to see us, and if they were the ones at the counter, we always got just a little extra food. I still miss them.
I had a great corner store like that. Sometimes the owner would just give us bags of candy and snacks that were about to expire, and would treat us to one of those giant pickles every now and then. I miss that store.
I would hope she learned her lesson but when her husband said this time you've gone too far Im guessing she has put her kids in other dangerous situations before and will probably do it again if given the chance. I personally think that she should have someone with her while spending time with the kids. Even with the Dad just outside didn't stop her from putting them at risk. He needs to be with her all the time. At least until the kids are able to be somewhat self sufficient and can understand the things the Mom is doing.
R/Slash, you're so spot on.. Children needs to learn how to chew and not just gulp and swallow.. My daughter, she's 20 now, but when she was 5 we had to do the heimlich on her, her dad did while at a restaurant... Everything was fine but when we got home he fell to his knees and cried at the impact of what happened...
The fact that the Karen would rather complain over the ice cream being expensive then tend to her dying child speaks volumes that she’s unfit to parent her kid without causing a scene in any place.
Unfortunately, you're right! I've seen that happen at a pool. A Male Life Guard jumped to save a little girl from drowning and the EM started yelling at the Life Guard. To the point where the Life Guard yelled at the EM, "If I hadn't jumped in and saved your little girl she would have drowned since you were too busy talking! And then you would've tried and still pinned on me!" I remember what happened after that, but yeah, Parents like this exist!
@@CJODell12 yeah but still why are people like that lady such *ssholes to them like "Lady you probably have stopped working just so you could be doing alot of other thinking except working"
If my child was choking, I would literally run to them and do the Heimlich without even thinking about it. Because, ya know, I DON'T WANT MY CHILD TO DIE
In addition to parents who tries to make their dyeing child's Make-a-Wish all about them, I hope there's also a special level of Hell for people like the "mother" of the second story!
The difference between make a wish Entitled parents and this Karen is that at least one of them somewhat care about their kid, this karen purposely put her daughters life on the line and was so fixated on the prices of the ice cream.
@@smorphous8928 I disagree. Make-a-Wish entitled parents who manipulates their kids into wishing for a free vacation can clearly NOT give a flying flip about their kids!
That's not a very profitable way of going about. Hope that she turns away from that BS, and learns from it. Hope _that_ first. She might be stupidly dangerous now, but she might yet learn. _Might._
Second story: Is incredible and frustrating NO ONE punched that witch in the face when she tried to stop OP from saving her daughter. I would and gladly give myself to the police.
Normally I’m a little skeptical of reboots, but I like the new version with special “Dad Vision”. It’s so cool to see RSlash grow as a person throughout the many stories he has read
@@locusxe1411 that’s true… I almost died as a toddler on mozzarella sticks. Also to make a point I had eaten Mozz Sticks thousands of times without issue before that day.
Yeah, although Dabney seems to lack some common sense.. Even adults choke to death, its rare, but it definitely happens. I've had a close call myself eating a steak when I was fairly drunk, luckily I was fine, but i was home alone, I could have died.
@@Nekulturny you should get a lifevac I just ordered one after seeing them on the news 3 times in the last month, each time in 1 pump they cleared the airway & saved the persons life, 2 of the times they were children & once an adult.
She probably didn't. Terrible mothers rarely if ever change for the better. They keep getting worse and the fact that this seems like it's common for her, there's really no hope for her.
Fun fact! As an Englishmen I also thought that you’ll get sued for everything but! America has a Good Samaritan law which protects someone if they try to save someone life. You can’t be sued.
Good samaritan law also is a new law, like with in last 20 years give or take a few... but then again folks went crazy about that time going sue happy too... *shrugs* crazy world.
Glad the bubblegum was removed. As an FYI from an EMT-CC, you shouldn't do blind finger sweeps to remove an object as you can push the obstruction further down into the trachea (windpipe). Rescue personnel have devices that both enable them to visualize the obstruction and forceps to remove it if possible. If it is wedged in there then they would have to perform a trachaeotomy (cutting into the trachea and inserting a tube for the patient to breathe).
I remember the advice about blind finger swipes bring bad, I'm guessing that wasn't what happened (emphasis on guessing) since the story was in OP's point of view and she probably didn't include The guy looking in the girl's throat because it didn't seem important. That said, yes definitely don't do it blind since you could lodge the food even further down and make the situation worse.
To be fair, depending on how long the paramedics still need you can't make it that much worse than "girl without oxygen for extended amount of time and unresponsive/unconscious". At that point you're staring death in the eye.
Tbh it sounds like the girl would be dead by then. Even though I agree that it's dangerous, doing nothing might mean death. I already wrote my own story in another comment, but basically my father sucked it out of me, mouth to mouth.
Yes this is true...if EMS is only moments away, as in less than 2 minutes. But if you live somewhere that you know it's going to take time and you've tried everything else you could. Then doing a sweep is all you have left. (I recall being taught in a CPR class to look before trying to do attempting though) Because at that rate and point in time you either try something or she will for sure die. I think the manager weighed the options here.
As an adult I often STILL choke on food and drinks! Almost every time it happens it’s because I accidentally breathed in while eating😆. I haven’t gotten to hurt yet but how can we expect children to be perfectly fine when it comes to eating when full adults have trouble sometimes😆
I've worked with the elderly who have dementia and yes swallowing is learned behavior and you can forget how to swallow. In some cases people die from malnutrition because they can't eat because they don't remember how to eat.
@@joshijoshi6308 Sorry for your loss, my father passed away few months ago and it has been difficult for all of us. It is important that we all take great care of each other and when needed. 👍😊
gods, if i ever find out i’m gonna get dementia i’m gonna just off myself, i’ll be as good as dead anyway and tbh my technically being alive but not myself will hurt my loved ones more than me dying as myself
That first story reminded me about a truth about pizza delivery drivers. I delivered for a couple years when I was younger for a major chain. Let's call it Daddy Jack's. Many times we had 2-3 deliveries going to roughly the same area, so we took doubles and triples if the drive time wouldn't be too far in between. If a customer is a chronic stiffer (non-tipper) or poor tipper, their pizza always got delivered last, even if they were technically first on the route. Not gonna value my time and resources to make your meal more convenient? Enjoy your not-so-hot-anymore pizza.
As a customer and pizza lover, I totally approve of this!! Want preferred treatment? PAY FOR IT! It’s not rocket science Karen! My parents taught me from a very young age that the kinder you are to people, the kinder they’ll be to you and that’s how people who respect one another. Side note, I find it seriously obnoxious how the posters always feel the need to humble brag about how good a tipper they are. It makes me think their true motive for posting is to virtue signal how wonderful of a person they are. Like seriously… retail/service employees aren’t constantly handing out free rewards just because you behaved with common decency…. That’s like literally the baseline expected from a member of society. I’m sure it happens occasionally in much more serious situations, but wouldn’t a genuinely good person refuse the offer of something free on the basis that their generosity or gratitude was heartfelt and not something they think they earned a reward for? It’s likely the employee is going to have to PAY for the FREE item so they aren’t fired. Want to virtue signal? Great… but don’t accept a free something because they are likely going to have to balance their till at the end of their shift. Ooops sorry bout the rant.. lol I worked in retail long ago, still scarred 😂. Back to topic… thanks for making/delivering yummy for my tummy pizza! I wouldn’t have lived through college without it. Back then you guys were the only food delivery available.

@@sagieaesir13 Everyone loves spider-man. Though, I've noticed a lot of young kids like spider-man. It's a big reason there are a lot of spider-man costumes. Even (though I hate to bring it up) Fortnite realizes this, which is why they've released a spider-man skin for their mainly-young audience. As for the gendering, I've noticed that if someone doesn't know the gender of someone, they may gender the person without realizing it. The gender they name the person as may sometimes depend on what their gender is. Chill, Rslash just said the first analogy that came to his mind

Even as an adult you can choke on food! That lady was just crazy! From what the dad said to her it sounds like she wants to seem like a good mom not actually be one... "Sure! Give my babies whatever they want so they will love me and I don't have to pay attention to them!" Whatever you say lady... How she reacted speaks volumes on her parenting...
I used to work in a museum gift shop, and we sold small tumbled stones. I'll never forget seeing a baby looking at me over the mom's shoulder while being carried and smiling while slowly putting a tumbled rock into its mouth. I immediately told the mom what I saw and she got the rock out of its mouth. This was several years ago, and the way the baby kept eye contact with me while it was trying to swallow a rock still haunts me. Edited to add: If you ever wonder if something may be a choking hazard to a toddler/young child use a toilet paper tube as a test. If it fits down a toilet paper tube then you shouldn't let the child have it/eat it unsupervised if at all.
@@kranberry3318 it's because our throats aren't just straight tubes to our stomachs they contract and expand and the opening may be as big as a toilet paper roll but after that it can be much narrower.
"Yes, police!? Arrest this worker because I'd rather my daughter be dead from choking on ice cream than have her life be saved!" Unreal, man... Un-freaking-real.
Last story: to me it’s funny how she will call the police on people for neglecting her teenagers, but not care enough to pick them up on time, and by the sounds of it she was a couple of hours late.
Reminds me of this mom who tried to get me fired because I caught her kids sneaking into an R rated movie. I told them to go to the movie they paid for but they decided to leave the theatre altogether and walk to a nearby shopping center. She came in hours later yelling at me for not calling her because they shouldn’t have been allowed to leave and how dare I leave them unsupervised. I pointed out she’s the one who dropped them off at the movies and left. She screamed that was different and stormed out.
My grandson was drinking a bottled soda at his sister's soccer game and had the plastic cap in his mouth. He accidentally sucked the bottle cap into the back of his throat, cutting off his airway. Of course, he couldn't say anything, and it was a minute before his dad realized what had happened and reacted. It took my son-in-law and another parent to get the bottle cap out of his mouth. Very scary.
When I was 19, I had my first kid. She started choking on her bottle when she was a few months old...her great grandfather was bottle feeding her and I was standing near. When she started choking, I went into survival mode, and was able to help... she had a stuffy nose, so she tried to breath and drink at the same ... it was SCARY!!! But thankfully I got training into dealing with that, so those instincts just fell into place! Afterwards, I freaked out so bad...such a scary thing..
I am into my 30ties and my mom still worries like crazy when I get an infection or something else airway-related due to me having infections often as an infant and nearly choking on one. if it's bad enough I just sleep at her house because I know it will stress her out if I am home alone with it.
That EM... I can't even... Why would you be self absorbed as to not console your child, to check on her after sometime tells you that she is chocking and then accuse sometime saving her life of abusing her. I... Can't... Even. I can't even see a little one crying without wanting to see what's going on. Never mind a child being limp, unresponsive and blue in the face.
Girl I was dating had the cops called on her for CPR at a pool. She was an off duty EMT with extensive training and saved a 9 year olds life and her mother called the cops saying she was groping her little girl.
I love hearing you talk about your family in these videos, it just makes them so much more human and really emphasizes the difference between your videos and text to speech Reddit RU-vidrs :))
Story 3: I have a cousin who has cats (close enough to dogs). Yeah, the hair can get a bit messy in some places, but it's nothing a lint roller or a vacuum can't handle. EM's reason is bull. It might be a minor inconvenience, but it's not a good enough reason.
Dog hair which will be cleaned vs freezing temperatures, suffering and danger. It's a no-brainer for anyone who doesn't have a lump of coal for a heart.
for people that will leave their own adult kid to die by freezing bc the child has a dog and she has to deal with dog hair there should be a special layer of hell for them
Probably too late for OP without power, but here are some tips from a Canadian for when you lose heat. -chose a room. Get everyone and all you animals in that room if you have a space heater great use that too -take clothing, towels whatever and seal any windows. Put plastic over the windows as well to seal them -take clothing or towels and do your best to seal the seam of the door -light any candles etc -make sure you have a carbon monoxide sensor
yep, air tight seal is bad... but even a tea light can help warm a room(there's some in our vehicles in winter and tinfoil to place them in for drips/melting), but ALWAYS place them where there's no chance of being knocked over, anything touching them, and try not to sleep with them going. i'm roginally from the canadian rockies and you can get seriously stuck on hwys due to blizzards and have to wait it out. i'm now in ontario on the eastern half of lake huron(georgian bay), rural, and power outtages can be a pain... especially when it's -40 or colder. hot hands are also your friend, you can stuff them at your feet under blankets(don't put them on bare skin ever) to help keep you warm.
I know the feeling of Free Food. When I was at College, I bought a Mars Bar from a Vending Machine but by some dumb luck ended up with 2 instead of 1. That Free Mars Bar on the way home tasted better. ^^
I remember back in 2020 after grocery stores opened up their bottle returns I was waiting in line outside with a mask and in a black pickup truck drives a woman who looks exactly like the famous Karen you’d see when you look up. Sunglasses, hair, everything. She even fit the picture in my head that I remember seeing. The only difference was that she was visibly older with wrinkles on her cheeks. Thankfully though I didn’t deal with her.

Guys understand that even if there were complications or a recovery, OP most likely wouldn’t be notified so it’s not really possible to make an update post.
When I was about 3 years old I choked on a safety lollipop... they're supposedly designed so that the candy part won't come off of the looped stick but it sure as heck did. My poor mother about had a heart attack doing the Heimlich Maneuver on me - she didn't want to do it too hard because she was worried about cracking or breaking my ribs, but every time she managed to dislodge it enough that I could breathe, I would instinctually take a big gasp of air & it would get lodged right back in place. Eventually her brain decided "screw it, broken ribs heal, dead kids don't" & went whole hog, managed to get it out. I also covered a fair portion of our kitchen floor in vomit after it came out & my mother promptly had a panic attack in the aftermath. So yeah, can confirm, 3 year olds can get surprise got by large candies.
I feel for op with the dog, I once lived in a house with no heating which is legal here, as long as there is a heating source in every room. Which ofcourse we didn't have. So it was -9 Celsius some days during the winter & the only thing that kept me alive was my heated blanket. My electric blanket under my covers, I had one on my settee. They were cheap, cheap to run and an absolute life saver.
Karen's are a global blight on the world. No matter the nationality, ethnicity, religion, political ideology, gender or gender identity we ALL have our version of this subspecies of proto homo-sapiens.

The girl that choked on the gum is very lucky. The D should get a divorce and custody of the kids since it's obvious that the EM don't care about them. Also, he should get child support for each of the kids.
Can someone help me with this? Is it me or does it seem like Karen's are listening to these stories and trying to think of more ways to get nice people arrested for just anything?
I choke on my own spit! How can a 3 year old handle hidden bubble gum? I really hope the little girl is ok and dad gets full custody in the DIVORCE HE NEEDS TO FILE!!! ETA- the mother of the person with the dog is evil. Like just evil, there's no other way to put it.
One of the first things I ask a woman if I things are heading to a relationship is " You know I got 3 dogs, they are my furr babys and sleep in the bed right?" LOL.... It blows my mind that a mom could turn away a kid as the dog sheds....Then again dog hair is a fact of life for me... *shrugs*
This trudged up one of my worst memories as a retail worker... I had this kid checking out at my register and we had a fund raiser going on at the time. I THOUGHT it would be a good lesson for the mother to teach her daughter about generosity or to even teach her daughter it's okay to say no when asked to donate. But instead the mither called me a robot and that I was only repeating a script. She called me a horrible person for pressuring her daughter into donating.
The last story is great! Utterly bizarre and no one was even in a position to get hurt! Perfect way to get the blood pressure down from the ice cream story and the mother willingly letting her kid and their dog freeze to death, very nice finish.
When I was around 4-5 years old I had a round piece of candy called "tutti frutti kulor" get stuck in my throat. And I only remeber going out of my room and through the house to get to my mom, because I couldn't breathe. She had to use the heimlich manouver and I am still, now 20 years later, a little scared of it happening again. So for that mom to not even caring makes feel so sorry for those poor kids for having someone as her for their mother
As someone who doesn't have kids yet, I did not know that babies can somehow find a way to choke on literal mush. Like, how do you not instinctively swallow food? Humans are wierd, man.
The one with the little girl choking , it is a terrifying experience when your child starts to choke. I've had to do the heimlich multiple times. And I myself had an instance when I was 3 where I had swallowed a penny. It got stuck at an angle so everytime I took a breath it would turn and cut off air. Fun times yo

The placebo effect is truly a marvelous thing when you find free stuff to be better. But just as it works for us humble people with free stuff, it works similarly for entitled people about expensive stuff, even though there's no actual difference in quality, taste or otherwise. A great example is the post in a previous CB video where the OP tricked her co-worker Karen by having cheap coffee beans put in a bag with the expensive "premium" coffee label that the Karen craved, and she couldn't tell the difference. It's fun to play those psychological games with entitled people who are so confidently clueless.
That's such a tiny little peanut but omg is that image impactful. It puts it into perspective just how small something can be and still pose a choking risk
With the bubble gum ice cream story. I can from over 5yrs of experience on an ambulance confirm that people like that mom do exist and choking can get that bad that fast.
2:58 I agree, the snack bag of unopened Doritos that I pulled out of a bush tasted so much better that the family-sized bag that I bought at Walmart, universal truth indeed.
Story 2: I've chocked on an ice cube when I was in my 30's and had to use a co-workers hot coffee to clear it! Mouth burns hurt less than actual choking.
Librarian here. It never ceases to amaze me how many people leave their small children in the children’s room of the library and expect us to babysit. The sign on the door does nothing to deter them.
As a part of my ED and binding, I used to wolf my food down and thing I didn't, was, to not chew properly and then try and get those large bites down at once. I was 23-24 when I started to look after my problem and realized what I was doing and how dangerous it was
F**k, I can more than 110% relate to your bed situation with my wife and dog. Except there’s no leg pillow - my wife starfishes when she sleeps lmao…. 😂😂 Edit: help your dog to learn to sleep on their back. My dog does that - he sleeps on his back with all four paws to the ceiling; it saves a ton of room and we are all happy lol.. 😂😂
I once brought a dozen donuts for the bus drivers in my town cause you know, I'm sure they deal with hell on a regular basis. I work as a baker and take the morning bus home about 4 times a week so it's the least I can do for them. I handed them to my usual bus driver and she was so ecstatic and grateful, immediately telling the others on the radio when she popped on the bus. They now call me the donut kid and keep an eye out for me if I happen to run a little late when the buses are leaving. :)
I worked at an ice cream shop for 11yrs, you do in fact charge for waffle cones, if they’re so “disgusting” then don’t buy them. Being in the food business all my life I’ve dealt with my fair share of ignorant and/or entitled people… maybe I’ll have to start posting some of my stories to Reddit.
That last story is pretty melodramatic. Like, I get if you live in a warmer climate that sudden cold weather can be scary, but -5f isn't life threatening in her situation. Seriously, just close yourself in a room, turn the space heater on, and get some blankets. It'll be cold, but your not gonna die from hypothermia. A small space heater will be enough to heat a single room easily, even a small apartment over time. Girl just doesn't understand cold weather and got spooked lol.
I can relate to the library part. I can't tell you how many kids I've reported abandoned because their parents dumped them there. One of them was a freaking toddler.
My almost 1 year old literally chokes on water... I'm just glad he's smart enough to chew when there is something in his mouth, even when it's not supposed to be in his mouth so can get it out without him swallowing it

I would argue the best tasting food in the world is when it isn't yours. Sneaking a bite from someone else, your significant other's meal, ending up with someone else's order at a fast food joint and they have a better order than yours, etc. etc...
LOL your dog issues remind me of it being my Lady Wife, myself (who are not small people), a leg pillow, a Shepherd/Elkhound cross, and a cat in a queen-size bed. Had to build a platform beside the bed for the dog.

The free donut story reminded me of what happened to me this morning. I was at Starbucks and it was super busy. There was a guy who drives up on the side road and I waved him into line (I didn’t have anywhere to be, and I was raised to be polite and courteous to others) so he got to go in front of me, which I didn’t mind. After ordering my food, I drove up to pay… and the guy PAID FOR MY FOOD!!!! It was over $10 too!!! I was shocked! The staff at the Starbucks said that the guy in front of me said “thank you” for letting him in also! I was floored! I was just being my normal self by letting him in! Honestly this has brighten my whole day!
