r/Entitledparents OP is minding his own business, walking his dog when an entitled mother and her spoiled kid spot the dog. The kid immediately rushes over to the dog and tries to enter OP's house, but OP stops the child because the dog can be a little aggressive. Naturally, the mother flips out and threatens to call the cops on OP for having an aggressive dog if he doesn't let her child pet it. Later, OP finds the child trying to harass the dog in his own backyard.

OP may not have had that job for very long, or may not have been used to dealing with the general public. Crying is a perfectly valid response to being overly stressed in a situation like that. That one about the mother stabbing her kid, unfortunately, sounds too familiar from incidents like that from around where I grew up. The concept of, 'You're my child/slave, so I own you and everything you have," used to be very common and is, thankfully, a concept that is dying out. Too slowly, in my opinion, but dying out nonetheless. To me, that isn't Entitled Parent that is Insane Parent.

@@charscreamAA In the US, Manslaughter is when death occurs from something that was not intended. So crashing into a pedestrian with your car by accident, would you manslaughter (as well as reckless driving, etc). But what the woman did was attempted murder. She had her weapon, and her target, and *aimed* for the target. That stab was entirely intentional. It might have been ruled as Crime of Passion indeed, which would have lessened the punishment, but it's still a bloody murder attempt.

It doesn't happen any more because they now have the option of applying for a dangerous offender's warrant.

Normally what happens in CT is that the person who has been sentenced by the guidelines for not guilty, they go to Whiting (level 5) prison then they go to CVH (CT Valley Mental Hospital) than they go into a group home and finally they get to live on their own. When a dude yells at me for no reason (my older brother used to intimidate me like that, cornering me and towering me while he yelled) I just scream like I've been stabbed and then calmly ask them if that is what gets them off, harassing women. If they are compensating for something, but in the most deadpan and low voice I can muster "Does this make you hard, sir? Is harassing people your kink? I'm sorry, I can't help you with your special needs, I have a boyfriend". I used this with my brother because the neighbors would come around and then I would ask him is he gets horny from harassing me and that made him leave my premises really fast. I get really mad when I come across people with kids or animals that have been abused...who the HELL does that to a child or an animal? One time I was on Hampstead Heath in NW London, there's a woman walking towards me carrying a small dog ( can't remember what breed...but small ). Now I'm a 'doggy' kind of guy...love 'em! So I asked if I could say 'hello'. 'Oh he won't come to you...he was badly treated by the people that had him before us...he's a rescue dog'. I grinned at her...'I bet I can get him to come to me...and if you have a couple of minutes I'll prove it'. She was willing to give it a go. I got down on the ground, the woman put the dog down, he's on his lead. I'm literally laying on my belly just talking, coaxing him to me...after a few minutes of talking quietly he actually came right up to me and licked my nose ! She was astounded ! A few minutes later he was sitting in my lap as I stroked him. By this time we had a small crowd of people standing nearby watching. The woman could hardly believe what had happened. I explained that most people just don't have the patience when it comes to animals or kids that had been abused. Most of the time that's all it takes...the willingness to be kind and patient. As you've probably guessed... I'm a big softy with animals and kids :-) I'm fairly big as well ( nearly 6 ft 3" tall and about 220 lbs ).

I had an ED come up to me while I was on break working at McDonald's when I was a teen. He had some problem with what he ordered and demanded I "fix" it for him. I told him I was on break and he'd have to go to the front counter, and he tried the same intimidation technique on me. At the time, I was playing high-school football and was a defensive end; when I stood up from the table I was 6'3" tall and about four inches taller than he was - not the "Incredible Hulk", but he could see that I wasn't pleased nor was I going to "fix" his issues. He slowly backed away as I approached him, finally going to the counter. I sat down and resumed my meal. NOTE: These twerps will only do this to people whom they think they can bully around, and only when they think there will be no harm coming to them. When I stood up after refusing to be his servant, that removed the "no harm coming to them" part of things, and he walked away. Standing up to these people is NOT what they expect nor want!

I have a similar story to that. My grandfather stole my mother's hern and ashes over a motorcycle title. The likes of which was never his or intended to be his. Hell when my mother first got the bike from my aunt she specifically said that he wasn't to have any right over the bike. Luckily they are planning to get him in front of a jury by August. We still have the bike. And he is no longer family to me.

I had this aggressive dog and this kid would not stop pestering me about petting him, and no one really gave me any help. We were at a park. So I had to keep telling her not to pet him, because he was a 180 pound Great Dane I may not be able to pull him off. He was super unpredictable, there wasn't any really known triggers. 90% of the time he was a chill, but then the 10% he would trying attacking people mostly focused on females but he was also jealous of my younger siblings. He even randomly attacked people that he was cool with before. I ended up going on a walk to get away from her, but it did mean I never got to take a little break. It was mentally tiring always being on high alert with him. We tried several trainers, and we tried to relocate him but unfortunately no one wanted to take him no shelters or anything so we ended up having to put him down. Always ask to pet someone's dog, and if they tell you no it is for a good reason. Another time kids were salty at me was when I told them they couldn't pet the dog I was dog sitting. It was my first couple times with this dog, so I wasn't sure how she would react so out of precaution I said no. She would have probably been fine from what I now know. Unfortunately she has recently been put down due to illness.

We had a Scottie that did have a history of attacking other dogs unprovoked. (One dog was smaller than her, one was a German Shepherd. Terriers are little Napoleons, I swear.) I was on a walking trail when a lady with her dog came up and asked her dog could meet mine. I said no, that my dog might react badly. She ignored me and let her dog come right up to mine. Thankfully, my Scottie behaved and afterward the lady said, "see? They're fine." Yeah, but if my Scottie HADN'T behaved we would have been trying to pry her rat-killing jaws off your dog's face, lady!

Good recommendations about interacting with dogs you don’t know (and so sorry). My dog is a timid teddy bear but is scared of little children and gives dogs a wide berth if they bark at him. The second is because of a ‘friendly’ dog attacking him in an off leash area (ended with me trying to hold my 20kg dog out of the other’s reach while it snarled and snapped and other owner sees unconcerned) and the first is because of an EM and her 6-8yo brat. In both cases he does not bark; he tucks his tail and cowers which a lot of people seem to interpret as just fine

This happened a few days before Christmas. I was at Target and saw a group of entitled parents harassing the employees because they didn't have the new Xbox or PS5. They all had the same excuse of I promised my child or my kids' Christmas will be ruined. I went up to one of the employees to ask for help looking at specific headphones and games. I have a dog who was also treated horribly before we got her. She barks at other dogs and other people, my oldest brother can't even be in the room with her, since she tries to bite him. We have a specific lead for her, which is bright yellow and has 'nervous' written all over it, to stop people from approaching and potentially getting hurt. We get weird looks from parents when we take her on walks, probably because we move as far as possible from them when passing. We haven't had a direct encounter with a Karen or entitled child yet, thankfully, but I'm waiting for the day when my dad is too busy and I have to go alone.

As someone who has a reactive dog: PLEASE, do not touch a dog without asking the owner first. I have a miniature pinscher mix that, after a lot of training, is now usually quite chill and can even walk without a leash on, but is fearful of people and will bark/growl if you try to pet him out of nowhere - the only time he bit someone, though without drawing blood, it was a guy doing renovations in my apartment, and the guy did provoke him first, stomping his feet at him, so the bite was more like a warning. He needs to first smell your hand and have you be at his level (as he's a small dog, you have to crouch) so that he doesnt feel threatened, and he also doesnt do well with kids, since they usually have a pretty chaotic energy. That said, although some people have made the mistake of trying to pet him without asking, they usually stop and let him get comfortable first when I tell them he's fearful. It doesnt help that I also have a chihuahua-yorkie mix that loves everyone, so she likes to greet random people when on walks, and they tend to think that if one dog is friendly, the other one will be as well. I've only had one Karen insisting on her son petting my fearful dog, and that went as well as you can imagine... The kid only got away unharmed 'cus I picked my dog up and away from them on time. She did try screaming at my face that I shouldnt bring an 'aggressive dog' out of the house like that, and "What would I do if her baby got hurt?!", so I yelled back that she should have listened the first time when I said the dog doesnt like children, that he's fearful, and that I'm within my rights to walk my dog without having her crotch goblin bothering us. Thankfully, I never saw her again.

My mom had a similar experience with an entitled couple while walking her dog. The dog was a rescue and as sweet as could be with people but absolutely lost his shit and wanted to fight any and all other animals (and bicyclists). We were camping at a private campground (membership only personal camp spaces and a 5 year wait for a spot) that had an "all dogs must be on a lease" policy. It wasn't aggressively enforced. While out walking with the dog my mom spotted this couple who had there dog off lease. She pulled our dog back knowing what he'd do. The couple saw this and shouted to her "it's OK, our dog is friendly." My mom yelled back that ours was not and to please hold their dog while they passed. The repeated that it's OK cus their dog is friendly and just wanted to say hi. My mom pulled our dog back as this other dog approached rapidly. My mom however is not a strong woman and our dog quickly knocked onto the ground, stood on her to prevent her from getting up and started a dog fight. The other couple ran over and quickly separated the dogs and helped my mom up. Luckily they began to apologize about the situation and asked my mom not to report them for violating the lease policy. I really hope those people learned their lesson. Lease laws/policies aren't just about keeping aggressive dogs contained but keeping friendly dogs from running up to the aggressive ones too.

I've lived in the tri-state area near northern VA all my life, but I moved to FL for 2 years with my fiance. We picked up a rescue dog down there that was the cutest pup ever. She didn't seem to have any issues as a pup. But as she got older we could tell she was either abused or a runt who wasn't able yo get the food she needed. She is a food crackhead and is very jumpy when we go outside. She loves when the wind blows leaves around and chases them. But other than that everything scares her. She barks at mostly everyone. But mainly people carrying things. If people stand still and she comes up she's fine. But if people roll up fast she's not okay. If some person like that first turd came up to my dog/house I wouldn't have been nice to her.

2:14 From personal experience, don't keep yourself from crying. In fact, start SOBBING and wailing the explanation (like "she could have broken her fingers I'm sorry!") really loud. A big tall man making a woman - especially a younger girl - cry like that makes it very awkward for him. It's humiliating to do, but the look of consternation and even panic on the men's faces when they realize everybody's looking or that they went too far is very satisfying. Makes them aware of the consequences of their actions, finally.

For some reason, the neighbour was obsessed with getting them in trouble. Somehow, the dogs keeps escaping- and after my dad set up a camera we found out the neighbour had sent her kids to damage our fence and let them out. My dad apparently threatened her with the video and to get police involved if they did it again. Another time, we were out of our city on holiday, and we had our dogs with us. My dad got a call from our neighbour and she sounded so triumphant as she said "we have your dog. He escaped again." She is a Tibetan Spinel, her breed was breed specify to be miss trusting of strangers, with that said. Here is what I would of done, I would have call the police, because at the point that the kid walked up to the door and tried to open it (the door) he was breaking and entering. When the two boys where on the guys property without an invitation and trying to go into the back yard they where trespassing and their attempt to spray the dog with water is animal cruelty. I don't know what state this incident happen in, but in Texas once you tell someone to leave your property and don't you have the right to defend your and your property; especially if they are threatening.

9:35 I think I know which resort OP works at. We've taken the kids there a couple times, and that game really is fun. We were actually there in March, less than two weeks before everything started shutting down. I know my kids. My son is a teenager now, so he's "too cool" for this now, but he used to be a real sweetheart. My daughter is in grade school and has that same heart of gold, and hasn't decided to hide it yet. My daughter would have given that employee a big hug and told him it's not his fault, that she knows he was just trying to protect the little girl. And God help that overgrown manchild if he tried anything with my husband or me nearby. Neither of us are big, but we're both veterans and can be scary as hell when we need to be. Anyone else notice the part where the little girl got scared by her "daddy", and not by some stranger correcting her behavior? Anyone else see the massive red flag that I see? Sure, it's possible she's scared because she's never seen him like that, but all the other indicators (ex: ignoring the wife) point to something less wholesome.

SHES BLEEDING!” (she wasn’t) and the kid yelled “WELL SHE GROWLED SO SHE DESERVES IT” and I was pissed so just left but as I was walking away holding my dog a lady who I think was the mom said “why would YOU yell at MY kid!” And I was done so just said “I’m not dealing with you right now.” And left, I swear some kids don’t understand boundaries :p

This dog story is so infuriating... A friend of mine got a dog a while ago. He was 6 months old and we didn't know what the old owner did or did not with him since he was scared when he saw other dogs but very friendly with humans. One time we were standing on the bus station and the other people already constantly looked at us. Its very unusual to see a Wolfsspitz in our area so people always asked for the breed and want to pet him. This was our first interaction with children and this dog. Three kids came over and asked if they could pet him and since strangers never were a problem my friend said yes. The kids then tried to pet the dog in very fast motions. The dog backs away (obviously scared), so we tried to teach them that they should move slow and let the dog take his time (every adult was never a problem since they are slow in the beginning). The kids didn't listend and were becoming faster and more aggressive after every failed try. Thankfully the big sister (at least what it looked liked) intervened and took the kids away, saying that the dog doesn't want to be pet. I now know that I should have interrupted right away but thankfully everything went well. Imagining this with a actually aggressive dog... this could have ended dangerous... Im still questioning why people just dont listen when you try to teach them about animals... you can make as many mistakes as you want to when learning something about... idk cooking or painting... but animals are something different... you can get hurt, the animal can get hurt etc. I just know that my friend encountered one other child while on a walk and that child was sweet and calm and everything went well... pls teach your kids how to behave around animals... its so god damn important.

the whole 'don't tell me how to parent my child!' thing reminds me of something that happened to a coworker of mine. way back after a few years she started ( maybe 4 or 5 years, she's been in retail for 30+ years ) the old tills used to have a gap between the belts and the metal part at the end of the tills. people's fingers would get pinched at best, stuck at worst, and this lady's kid was playing at the end sticking their fingers into the gap. my coworker told the kid in a super nice voice 'don't do that sweetie you'll get hurt' and the mom just turned around and said 'Don't parent MY child'. my coworker just went 'ok' and walked away. not even three minuets later the kid is screaming their head off cause guess what, their fingers got stuck. an ambulance had to be called that's how bad it was.

Like the story with dad yelling at an employee, I had my own encounter with a parent like that. I was working at a home decor store my senior year of high school. It was around Christmas time and we had a display at the front of the store with a huge Christmas tree and other holiday. To clarify the display is about 1-2 feet off the ground on a large platform. I was at on registers and was checking out a woman (who was on her cell phone talking) in her 30's and her 4-5 year old daughter. The daughter grabbed a dove ornament without her mom looking while shopping and put them on the counter for me to ring up. The woman immediately tells me not to ring them up and hands her daughter the dove and tells her to "put it back". The woman continues to focus on her phone conversation and turned her back while her daughter walked behind her. I watch the daughter as I'm finishing the transaction. The little girl proceeds to climb up the display and walks to the Christmas tree to put the dove on it. I look at the woman and she's still on the phone talking with her back facing her kid. I call out to the little girl to please get down before she gets hurt. The mom snapped her head at me. "I AM HER PARENT, NOT YOU! " Turns to the little girl, "GET OFF THAT RIGHT NOW!" I finished the transaction, albeit a bit a stunned. The mom complained to the person on the phone of strangers trying to parent her child. She left with no other incident and her daughter saying bye to the bird. I wonder what would have happened if I didn't say anything? Probably would have gotten yelled at by her either way. I swear some parents use that phrase just to make it look like they're not a bad parent.

First story: As if entitled parents aren't crossing enough borders in their eternal struggle to be treated like royalty despite their disgusting abuse, once they step into the realm of murder they deserve to be buried under the jail. This kind of person has a mindset not unlike the most hardened criminals, which makes the lack of urgency to investigate and punish these kind of people by the juridical system unfair sometimes. It's good to hear some real justice dispensed against them every once in a while, since it sets an example for how they should be treated. Good riddance, and best wishes to OP's future. Second story: I understand that OP wanna send out a message of how to treat pets with psychological problems, but sadly entitled people don't respect _anyone,_ and anything you try to tell them will just fly over their heads. That sad excuse of a mother would gladly allow her crotch goblins to abuse your dogs and still claim animal abuse on your part. Even her thinking that breaking your fence to make your dogs to run out being an appropriate response to your breaking of her crotch goblins' toys when they admit to having malicious intents speaks volumes about her personality. That kind of delusion can't be reasoned with. Third story: The mind of a Karen is so pre-occupied with malicious thoughts and delusional outrage that they gradually lose all sense of situational awareness and intelligence. While their behavioral pattern is very predictable, you just can't help but find the accidents they bring upon themselves hilarious. Sometimes I wonder how they can even walk in high-heels without twisting their ankles constantly. Fourth story: Real tough piece of work bullying someone smaller than himself. I can see how this is a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" situation, because guys like him will find every reason to victimize someone. He's the kind of guy that will get into a heated argument with the wrong person one day, and will come to deeply regret that decision. Fifth story: Indian culture seems to be the epitome of entitlement. While hearing about this kind of parental behavior in their culture doesn't strike me as unusual, it's sad that children who wants nothing to do with such outdated and radical planned marriage traditions has a hard time cutting ties and still be treated like they are under their parents' control. At least OP's aunt is kind and sensible enough to act as a mediator to expose her sister's schemes while not giving out any information about OP in return.

OP went to the wall literally to protect that little girl but not figuratively. And it's because people like this entitled dad don't experience any real clapback in the moment for their neglect or negligence, regardless of the reason people don't stand their ground, that this guy will continue his shenanigans. OP wasn't the only one he terrorized that day. That little girl hid behind her mother for protection with tears in her eyes. Who's going to step in to protect them when he has them literally against the wall? OP had the upper hand and didn't even realize it, let alone make use of it by at least getting security or the cops or anything to deal with this guy. Anything the guy did after that would've just compounded *his* problems. Yeah, it sucks when your job puts you between a rock and a hard place, behind the 8 ball, etc. But you still have to do your job, even if that's just the timely notification of somebody in a different position of something that transpired. If you don't, other people could end up paying a hefty price for a long time to come.

We have a waterpark, giftshops, food courts, 4 floors of our resort (Varies), and this thing called Magi-Quest. Magi-Quest is basically the 1st floor of the resort is covered with different items that wands ($17.99 a pop, can be used at other resorts so they aren't total scams) with other stuff available. We have chests among those items, that can be forced open. One of those things are even heavier than all our displayed merchandise combined, they could break a hand in half. We have precautions to keep employees from breaking their hands the same way the kids or frustrated parents would have. This 4 year old (NK nice kid) and 9 year old (ONK older nice kid) are trying to force a chest open, and do so. I run over and gently push their hands away and close the chest slowly. (M = Me) M Hey guys, please don't do that, you might get hurt. These things are very heavy. ONK: Ok, I'm sorry ma'am. *Then we introduce ED and EM* EM: What are you doing? They were just messing around! You can't spoil their fun like that! ONK: Mama, she said we could have gotten hurt. I don't want to get hurt. EM: Dear don't defend this jerk. You can have fun, if its so dangerous they shouldn't have this. *Then the person who probably makes this story unbelievable EK (15M) And for context, I'm 17F.* *EK, again 15 and not at all disabled in any way mentally or physically, reaches for my skirt. I instinctivly slapped his hand away because dude, get your hand away from my skirt.* EM: How dare you! You can't do that to my son! That is assault! M: Okay? And if your son grabbed my skirt that would be s€xual assault? EM: Oh shut up. Boys will be boys! ED: *Runs Over* What the h€ll did you do to my son?! You are a woman you need to act like it! EK: Yeah! It (Yes. He actually called me an it.) is a girl! I can do what I want. EM: *Fricking nods and condones this saying* Exactly. If you don't want to attract boys then don't dress like a sk@nk! *K (My manager) sees me on the very of tears with two adults over me, a 15 year old grabbing at my clothes and two crying kids walks over.* K:What the hell is happening?! ED: This woman is ruining our kids fun and wont let them touch her K: Sir, your son has no right to touch our employees. EM: SHUT UP!!! BOYS WILL BE BOYS. AND SHES A WOMAN SO MY SON CAN TOUCH HER. K: *Grabs her arm* EM: WHAT ARE YOU DOING!!?!! LET ME GOOOOOOOOOOOO *This Karen is screaming like a banshee* K: But, your a woman? I can touch you. Boys will be boys~. Oh also, *She slips him a note saying, 'GTFO. and apologize to NK and ONK for me.* I got to pick out a new custom wand, topper, and creature + a paid day off.

My mom used to always sign me up for things without telling me. Whether it was cleaning a farm up, catering at church events, or offering me to babysit other kids.. I'm 19 now and while she doesnt sign me up anymore (due to work), she still doesnt tell me when actual important things come up until the day of.

That guy just broke their water guns? I would snap it in half then threaten to do that to their necks.

For those who probably just listen and didn’t read the text, EM’s reply to OP going to work was written as *”wooooorrk”* as in she probably either thought OP was making it up or acted like it wasn’t important. RSlash quoted it as if she was speaking normally, so you wouldn’t be able to tell this little detail unless you saw the quotes.

The target story is almost identical to one I witnessed as I work at target, both times it’s happened but never the door closing twice on the Karen’s. It’s actually concerning knowing this must have happened at countless targets
