The obvious solution to story #4...If it is quicker to walk from OP's house to get the kids, rather than wait in the line of cars, and OP already offered to let someone park in her driveway while picking up the kids, then friend-of-friend should park in OP's driveway, walk to get the kids herself, get back to work, and thank OP for being nice enough to lend her driveway to the cause. Or enroll the kids in a more convenient summer camp.
@@MyFiddlePlayer Right? Being able to park in the driveway sounds like a good trade off! Especially if you're able to park, walk over, get the kids, and head back to your car, all while the other cars are still in line!
The one thing about these Reddit stories I've found truly shocking is how many people just roll into private pools. Should have called the police even after they left.
That mom called her kid selfish during her own selfish rant and immediately after an incredibly self absorbed statement she called the kid self absorbed. Projection, much?
I try to give her some benefit of the doubt, no mother should have to bury their child, and she did. Shes a broken person. I think the OP is better off having a living will signed by someone they can trust and just not discuss it again. Thats what I've done with my sister, she has a signed and notarized advanced directive should anything happen to me because our mother is weirdly religious and controlling like that, and she absolutely would keep me on a feeding tube for years and years and years like Terri Schiavo's selfish parents did. My mother doesn't know my sister has these documents and unless something actually does happen theres no reason to upset her with that knowledge.
The pool stories always gets me. What if they just called the cops instead of just going out and telling them off. So many things could go wrong by trying to get onto someone’s property for something as stupid as wanting to use a pool without permission
@@theshaddowedsnow6838 Since when? Maybe things are different where you live, but trespassing or breaking and entering, generally isn't just a "civil matter" that cops will simply ignore, in fact in the US at least, that would straight up be asking for trouble because if they refused to help then you don't know who is going to go nuts pull a weapon if they can't get them to leave.
So, the organ donation/cremation story: I lost my grandpa this year in January to cancer. He was cremated and I have his ashes in a necklace I’ve been wearing since February. He wanted to be cremated. He wanted us to have his ashes. I don’t understand how the hell ops mom can be so self centered!
@@dutchvanderbilt9969 not all Christians are like that. I'm honestly tired of people lumping us into the same group as the crazies. As a matter of fact, she's a fake Christian. And she's probally conservative
so by her logic you get kicked out of heaven if you donate your organs? because it takes a few days right to get the paperwork done before they can harvest anything and I assume you not gonna hang around or sit in some kind of heavenly lobby to wait if they do so?
Would have sent the entitled parents of the first story a bill for cleaning the pool clearly showing it was because of there sons peeing in it let them face the consequences
the only way to really hammer the conciqences home is to hit entitled people in the their wallet when money becomes a casualty of their actions they start thinking twice about it
I'm a mom and the entitled mother stories drive me nuts. Are my kids a handful sometimes? Yes. Do I want a break sometimes? Also yes. So I get a babysitter. At events where I don't have a babysitter I or my husband watch my kids. And I pick them up or make other arrangements that don't involve guilting a child free friend.
“My mom asked how she would visit my grave” Weird how her mom just assumed that she would live longer than op. Wouldn’t the mom die of old age first? What a delusional woman… Edit: I understand that sometimes parents bury their children and that op’s mom did in fact bury one of her children. But that’s not something that a parent would expect to do, let alone plan out what happens after like op’s mom was doing. I just find it kinda shameful that she had a ‘when you die’ rather than a ‘if you die’ attitude.
True but my mom died before her mother died, so there’s always a small possibility for the unexpected to happen. Then again that doesn’t excuse OP‘s mom way of thinking
@@dutchvanderbilt9969 Why are you generalising a huge amount of people from all across the globe? Not all Christians are the same, and certainly not the same as the American version.
Story 5: Hey, if someone warns you about the violent content, *don't shrug it off!* And if someone warns you, *don't blame them!* They brought that on themselves.
I remember when I warned my mom not to read the "Warrior Cats" books to my sister when she was 9 because they can get pretty violent at times. My mom said "What do you mean? It's just a book series about some cats. She'd like them" to which I said "Up until the point where they describe one of the cats being literally gutted open so bad that the 'power of StarClan' wasn't even enough to save it" and got a horrified look in return.
I think she was more pissed that her kids now didn't like the turtles anymore so now she has to find a new show to mesmerize them with so they don't have to parent lol
I've done this before in stores with videogames. I warn the parents about content of the game. Stuff like, "Yeah it's a good story but you do cut people into pieces." "I enjoyed the game play and battle systems. But you end up ripping peoples heads off violently." "This game has some more mature themes and shows just how violent people are." Typically, though these people listen to me.
@@DoctorOaks I have to admit it is violent. There so many death scene. Like the part where Stonefur getting shredded by shadow clan or the description of how foxfur get mauled by a pack of rat. But it a good book. I can imagine how shock she was when she read those chapter.
"Do you know how selfish it is to pollute the environment with human remains?!" Yeah, because burying a body filled with toxic chemicals that slow down decomposition to a crawl is SO much better.
Story five: In my country there's a manga-style comic, advised for those age 10 and up. I'd often see parents buy it for their kids who are less then 10. Some stories from the comic had a horror element, and those parents complained that "their children got scared". It's their own fault they don't read what's on the cover.
That's right. On top of that, as a person who grew up reading some of the first run of Ninja Turtle comics, the OP was right on the money in how graphic and violent the original material was. Those parents are obviously the "hands off" type. Such buffoonery!
Third story: according to Google, cremation is BETTER for the environment than burials. There's also water cremations, which is quite a bit cleaner AND cheaper than both
I was about to say. Ashes are a soil booster. I personally want to be cremated and placed in one of those biodegradable pods with a tree seed. I want to be a tree.
My grandfather was cremated, when my uncle saw that, he also wanted to be cremated and when he had a fatal car accident, his wife cremated him as well. When I die, I also want to be cremated.
Second to last story: What a trooper. Art is really difficult and takes years to get good at. Combining that with raising fur babies means this person is very much a full time mom, just not to humans. As someone with 4 pets, raising an animal is its own job.
*Third OP:* Hopefully OP will outlive her mother so that this will be a non-issue. I like how OP’s mom called OP selfish for thinking of herself when OP’s mom was thinking of _herself_ regarding OP’s wishes. *Fifth OP:* Let’s hope the kids don’t stumble upon the live-action movie from 1990. Raphael _swore_ in that movie! 😮
@@shinymainespoon if the original poster put in their last will and testament what they wanted done with their body there's really not much their mother could do about it. I'm not aware of this specifics as I'm not a lawyer but I suppose the mother could try to contest the will but from what I know someone's last will and testament is pretty much set in stone isn't it?
First Story: I’d pay money to see that security footage Second Story: OP’s brother is a MVP for handing OP another beer after she chugged the first one lmao. Aunt wants adult time but what about the 20 year old woman she wants to pawn her kids off for free babysitting? Isn’t OP entitled to adult time too Third Story: Isn’t it being selfless to donate one’s organs? How is that being selfish? Fourth Story: Why do so many entitled mom always mention that they are single moms? What does being a single mom have to do with u handling ur responsiblities? Being a single mom is no excuse to pass that over to someone else. This acquaintance needs to just handle her responsibility Fifth Story: The parents can’t get upset nor blame anyone but themselves considering OP literally warned them but brushed OP off
If you're someone who lost a partner suddenly and are struggling to raise your kids in the wake of that loss, you deserve sympathy and support. You're not entitled to support on demand though. If you're someone who just decided you wanted kids on your own because you were too dumb to know how hard it would be, you deserve to be laughed at to your face.
Depending of course on the circumstances of the single parent, but if they act entitled like those in these Reddit posts, then it’s clearly THEIR behaviour that has caused them to be single. Who wants a partner that acts this way?
@@nevan2201 I know it's been a year but saw your comment and wanted to post based off it. Most people nowadays are more familiar with the goofy cartoon TMNT series and movies. To be fair, even that, to a point, holds true to their origin comics, which is to make fun of super heroes, their villains, and the situation they get themselves into and out of, as well as the side characters they come across (such as April being a typical damsel in distress and a pretty decent parody of Lois Lane). However the original comics, from what I understand, were parodying the types of comics at the time, which were grim, gritty and, supposedly more realistic. With the characters being super serious, often melodramatic, etc. Think Batman or Daredevil. Well, more Daredevil since he and the turtles share an origin (lol).
The mom from the last story sounds like the type to buy Mortal Kombat games for her kids with the mentality that video games “are for kids” anyway and then threaten to sue NetherRealm Studios for traumatizing them with the violent content.
Anyone who think games is only for kids should be forced to play Subnautica for a whole day. It is not particularly violent but oh boy, it is not for the faint of heart...
I like anime and was watching Armitage. Which is about androids that can get pregnant getting murdered/destroyed. The lead character, Armitage, is a combat version who falls for her partner. He started swearing at her, and that was when my parents walked in. "This is a show for kids?!!" "No, it's not for kids." "But it's a cartoon!"
In the same family: comics are for kids, animation is for kids, sci-fi is for kids, fantasy is for kids, video games are for kids, boardgames are for kids. There are likely more variants on this...
Ironically I've never actually heard of that coming from Mortal Kombat, but you know what game that does seem to happen to a lot? Bioshock. For some reason that game has been labeled as "for kids" by shitty moms and then they're shocked and horrified!!! When they find out it's actually a horror game. It's really weird, but I've seen it too many times to ignore it.
Conker's Bad Fur Day and the GTA ones are also on the notorious list. On that note, how is the one with a literal felony as a title mistaken for a kids game? Conker I get if you're not paying attention or are fooled by the cartoon cover. Similar problem to the Sausage Party movie. I'm still waiting for rants about that one
"Think about someone else for once!" Telling this to a person who just literally planned their brothers ENTIRE funeral. That last story: The fact that some parents think ALL comics are made for kids is the single stupidest thing ever. The Dark Knight, The Killing Joke, Hack/Slash, Dredd, The Boys... all not suitable for kids. Hell, just because I Hate Fairyland has "fairyland" in the title & is inked with beautiful bright colors does not mean it's made for kids. That shit is gore galore.
Another comic that started off dark was 'The Mask'. The premise was the mask would provide the wearer with cartoon like abilities, however that doesn't extend to the victims until the Movie adaptation. Gruesome scene where Stanley Ipkiss killed auto-shop workers by shoving auto parts into them. While cartoon misshapen it killed them horrifically like a reverse Fnaf Death.
I feel for those kids in the Last Ronin story. It is pretty brutal. The parents are clueless. If i was told a book was too violent, I would believe them. Some people dont deserve kids.
As someone who works at a comic shop, I was always shocked at how many kids under the age of 10 would come in see our large The Walking Dead display of the collected volumes, and not only knew what it was, but wanted to pick up a copy. Usually the parents would just shrug when I told them the book they were purchasing for their kid was like a Hard-R rated movie and just say "They (the kids) watch the show." I would just wait until they were out of the store and shake my head in disbelief.
The mother in the third story outright _says_ "I'll just go against your wishes, this isn't about what _you_ want!" and she has the _audacity_ to call OP the selfish one??!!!! I would have to fight the urge to smack the crap out of her, that is hypocrisy and total self-unawareness on a near-cartoonish level! Last story, I really hate that attitude and behavior from people, specifically parents. "This thing that I think is for kids _must_ always be for kids and nobody should sell anything dark or scary or inappropriate _ever_ and if they do, I'll try and shut them down". Moral Guardians piss me off, get over yourselves and either do the work to keep your kids away from things you don't want them to see, or get over it and stop blaming the world and the art and sellers themselves for not catering to your petty ideas of what's "right".
I about died from an irony overdose during the third story when OP's mom said. "I don't care what you want. How could you be so self absorbed?" Like... The levels of hypocrisy is insane
We buried my mom's ashes/urn at the wishes of her brothers and sisters who wanted to bury her in the family grave (they had talked to my mom beforehand and she agreed only if THEY paid for it and not us, her kids. They did). Well we buried her and... Honestly I will probably never visit that grave, ever. I don't need a grave to grieve her. Didn't even keep ashes either.
She suddenly lost her son though, that got to be horrible. The loss of a child, regardless of age, is not something you just get over. Then right after a deadly pandemic hit, probably causing a lot of anxiety.
@@Ikajo But that doesn't excuse her selfish behavior. She literally called OP self-absorbed Even though she herself did not respect OP's wishes to be cremated.
@@DarkEinherjar How would you react to your own child dying? It is hard to say. Maybe she is being hysteric. I'm not saying she is in the right, just that she might need some compassion.
@@EGG-de4ye I'm not excusing her behaviour, I can just see where it might come from. It is possible for two things to be right at the same time. In this case, her behaviour is wrong but it she is also dealing with tremendous grief.
Gotta love that first story for how OP's dad effectively shut down the EP's flimsy excuses. •"I Know the homeowner." He _is_ the homeowner! •"You can't prove that we broke in." He points out the _security camera._
3rd story doesn't make sense. I know a bit because my parents are hyper religious, I don't think I've ever heard anything about being against being a organ donor, nor have I heard about cremation is bad, hell my mom told me that I should be a donor because I won't be using em if I'm dead
On the ashes one. I have a family member who thinks that to cremate just, “doesn’t treat the body with respect.” It is definitely a religious issue. I made sure to tell my wife that I want her to do whatever is cheapest and spread my ashes if she wants. I just know my family will try to override what I want if I don’t have it written down.
I’m just writing it off as a kid posting the story and not really knowing. It’s probably a big difference from where they lived before, and, benefit of the doubt, maybe they’re living beneath their means. That said, I hope the parents aren’t the ones that have put it into OP’s head that they’re rich, because then it’s just counterproductive.
Do we even know if the OP is from US? Where i'm from, owning a house with a pool and driving a jeep wrangler is pretty damn well off. Just the price of that jeep wrangler, it comes to like 25 years of work at minimum wage lol. You can understand why it would be considered well off then right?
You realize 'well off' is relative, right? Also, it's entirely possible to have a home that is vastly more expensive than your neighbors especially if there's a significant size difference in the home and property. And just because my neighbors are entitled idiots doesn't mean my house isn't very valuable. LOL
Long ago when my family added a pool. every house in a block radius would jump out fence to swim in the pool, we never invited any of them! we had a 10ft fence and somehow people were getting coolers and babies over. we had to call the cops almost daily and it only ended when we got the pool filled by order of the city to prevent a "tragedy".
I feel like someone in the local government ought to do something about the camp in the 3rd story for constantly causing such a huge backup of traffic. It makes me wonder if they're violating some rules on maximum occupancy/etc. rules in the building having so many kids there that it takes an hour to pick them up.
*5th Story:* Tell me how old the parents are without telling me how old they are. For those unfamiliar, the TMNT franchise during the late 80s/early 90s was deemed controversial for violence seen on the 80's cartoon and that's not even touching the more bloody Mirage Studios comics.
Beware guys, a living will isn't always a legally binding document. People can disagree and go against it depending on the circumstances. Make sure you talk to a lawyer and get the correct legally binding forms filled out for your state/country. also, for the book one, I can't tell you how many manga and comics I helped the librarian relocate from the kids section. They thought that if there was pictures it was for children. Then I would open it up and show them a very graphic passionate hugging scene or a violent bloody decapitation scene. Yeah.
The irony of "YoUr SeLfIsH fOr NoT dOiNg WhAt *I* wAnT" is SOOOOO irritating. And the disrespect of telling someone, never mind *your own child,* that you're going to intentionally disregard their wishes upon their passing? Not only is that absurd, but it's also *selfish.*
Third story: when someone tells me this sh*t about the intact body, I have this answer: "If God is all-powerfull, I don't see why He would have a problem to resurrect me from a bunch of ashes". But it's always the same, people using religion to control other people's lives and bodies. Ma'am, your daughter isn't the one going to hell for this, you are. Fifth story: I can't fault some random person for not knowing that the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comics were NOT for kids. I mean, I only became aware of that later in my life after I started reading Usagi Yojimbo. But still, if the cashier is telling you that the book is not recomended for kids, you might damn well listen to them. You don't get to accuse someone of traumatizing your kids when it was you who decided to go against the other person's advice.
According to the mom and anyone who is equally religious in the "body must be intact" type way. Even if i was the most religious person out there, and measurably the best person out there. Im going to hell purly because I'm missing my leg. Doesn't make sense to me. Fortunately I'm not religious so threats like that don't hurt me, but it's such a dumb manipulation tactic
I hate people who say “*comic book character* is for KIDS!” Like yeah, there are stuff like Batman cartoons for kids, but if you show a kid A Serious House On A Serious Earth, I’d be shocked if they didn’t start crying at the art style alone!
@@velvety2006 I was just commenting on Reddit how the Batman Beyond Return Of The Joker movie scarred me as a kid. Idk who left Cartoon Network on, but I walked into the living room one night, a small child who already had a fear of clowns, and problems sleeping at night, and the Joker Jr. scene from that movie is playing. No one is in the living room. And I watched the whole scene. I can still remember a lot of that whole scene very vividly, and Im pretty sure I haven’t actually watched the movie since that night. Either way, Batman definitely traumatized me growing up, and anyone who says “it’s Batman! Its a cartoon! It’s for kids!” Can actually fuck off.
@@David_Quinn_Photography grossed out and upset by the gore maybe, but I feel like Deadpool isn’t usually scary (except when he’s killing the rest of the marvel universe). They’ll learn a whole bunch of new concepts to ask their parents about like “why does this man have multiple voices in his head?” And possibly “what does pansexual mean?” And my favorite “what do the four random symbols mean?”
@@velvety2006 also Teen Titans was a fantastic show that I loved, great for all ages, Slade also traumatized me. It’s very ironic that I’m actually a DC comics fan right now, considering the damage that company did to me lol.
Second: They stopped asking me to watch the little cuties, when I started to teach them some harmless but annoying pranks. They wanted to be babysit by me, the parents hated it.😁 Book story: Exactly same with anime! This happens me all the time! A few years ago my mom asked me to let my youngest sister watch cartoons with us. She was 3. Me and my other sister were watching I think Elfen Lied. I warned her. She didn't care, so I showed my mom a bloody part. I suggested she watches with us a different one. Since then mom hates anime. But the youngest is doing well with Pokemon and her current intrest is FNAF.
now i have this mental of image of sitting in a lobby with thousands of other people and after a 100 years or so then you come up to a desk and a angel looks your info up in the computer and goes 'sorry, we need to send you to hell your organs were donated'
Regarding the 3rd story, Matthew 18:8: "So if your hand or foot causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It’s better to enter eternal life with only one hand or one foot than to be thrown into eternal fire with both of your hands and feet." The bible says nothing about being thrown to hell for not having a whole body. It full on says the opposite.
Last story: those parents clearly lacked some common sense. Just Googling the covers for The Last Ronin comic book shows that that version of TMNT looks very different from the TMNT on Nickelodeon.
The story with the beer is how it is with my parents. They revert back to when I lived with them and act like Im back to being the babysitter and will leave to shop for 4 hrs. The last time I visited, they tried the same thing. I said "if you leave, so will I. The kids need parents for once." Haven't seen them for three years, honestly.
When I die, I want one of two things to happen: 1.) To be cryogenically frozen (in the hopes I'll come back at some point) or 2.) If thats impossible, to be cremated. Either way, I don't like the idea of decaying in the ground.
ED: "But you have no proof." Dad: "You were saying?" **Points to camera** Security Camera: *"I gotchu, bruh."* **Thumbs up** Also, as a Malaysian, when he said "Malaysia", I was like "who has summoned the almighty one?"
If my family expected me to babysit their kids all the time then I'd tell them "I'm not a babysitter, but for X amount I'm willing to consider." Especially if I already enjoy being around them. Otherwise I'd tell them to f off
Oh yeah the last ronin ninja turtle story is incredibly graphic and heart breaking, it's a good read for older fans but children shouldn't be allowed to to read it unless you got one of them kids that can handle tons of gore which still probably Isn't a good thing, it's definitely a good read though for anyone else interested in reading a gruesome and tragic TMNT story
I would have answered to entitled mom about the grave that if she wasn't gonna respect my wishes, I wouldn't respect hers and "we'd both be in hell together after being cremated"
Gotta love dancing bacons’ convenience store hauls, destination dining experiences, vending machine buys, and that unique smile the woman makes when she likes the food.
The first story I would have just called the police anyway and showed them the video recording of the neighbors. They were looking for it. Being so allowing is what makes these people believe they can do whatever they want.
*looks at Jesus who was whipped, had his scalp cut by thorns, had his hands and feet pierced by nails, and had his side stabbed on the cross* Ah yes, the intact body.
An important thing to remember about TMNT: Issue 1 starts with the Turtles picking a fight with, and slaughtering, a street gang. It ends with the Shredder, bleeding out from Leo's katana having gone clean through him, falling from a rooftop with a live thermite grenade in his hand, (yes, he dies in the very first issue and never returns[1]). The "Heroes on a Half Shell" were raised and trained for the sole purpose of carrying out a revenge murder, which they do without hesitation. [1] Several other people do take up the name over the years, including Raphael.
I'm laughing about the mommy group! That's hilarious and honestly I would have taken her up on parking and walking myself. ( As a mom ... I despise mommy groups like that)
there's something i find extremely funny about that one mom saying "you'll pollute the environment with your remains" to someone who wants to be cremated instead of buried, i'm not sure about burials when you aren't embalmed but i'm pretty sure cremation is a hell of a lot better than embalming chemicals.
I'll be forever thankful both of my parents taught me what I needed, showed me both sides of the coin, and allowed my siblings and I to decide things ourselves. They wouldn't care if we were religious nuts or devil worshippers. I love my parents.
lol now my brain made up this idea that you and your family are having family dinner and the conversation goes like this to sibling ' how was church choir honey" sibbeling : great mom, we don't have everything down yet but we are gonna make it' mom 'how great' turns to you 'and you sweety, did that mean neighbour turn bald yet from the satanic ritual you preformed?
Third story: it’s not selfish to be an organ donor and want to be cremated. And even if it was, if there’s any time a person is entitled to be selfish, it’s when deciding what happens to their meat vessel after they’re no longer using it.
Dear MOMMY group: I am a professional that works from home, my rate is $65.00 per hour per child. I do not have minor children any longer and I DO NOT BABYSET unless scheduled. This includes my grandchildren, so Friends it is a NO.
That whole "need a body for heaven" thing is so completly incomprihensible to me. Europe does not keep bodies intact for long, cremation or grinding the body to dust is the traditional way to deal with them because there's just not enough space for bodies. Heck, half of london is a filled with bodies from old graveyards that got repurposed with no care to even remember there were graves there. This is some crazy shit from the USA again.
God, I love it when people think that cremation is polluting the planet more then buring a chemical pumped corpse into the ground, also...why is the mother so sure that OP, her daughter, is gonna die before her? 😶
Ahh rise of the ronin is a fantastic book. I do recommend it. I do appreciate the op said three turtles died. Because which turtle survived is a plot point. And for those curious Its mikey. Mikey was the survivor. Which makes it so amazing that the biggest goof became so grizzled. Dude was holding back.
So funny thing about the mom in the last story. “It’s a show on Nickelodeon” Yea, then don’t watch the Rise of the Teenage mutant ninja turtles movie on Netflix. Then kill some turtles in the first five minutes. A Movie by Nickelodeon.
"Why can't you babysit for me?" I've explained to my kids and grandkids: If You confess that someone else did it---it's not confession, it's tattling. If you volunteer someone else---it's not volunteering, it's avoiding being a volunteer. Never ask someone to do something you wouldn't do yourself---and will if asked. Now if only I could get my wife to stop telling her co-workers that I'll check their plumbing and A/C for them!
Both my Nana and Pappaw and Grammy and Granpy were cremated and are buried in cemeteries. I think in the one my Nana and Pappaw are buried in only deals with the burial of cremated remains as the few times I’ve been there I haven’t seen a regular headstone; just ones big enough to cover up where the urn is, hold a first and last name and the year of birth and year of death. The one Grammy and Granpy are in has a mix of cremated and casket burials
Last story reminds me of the one where a mother got Madoka Magica (iirc) for her daughter despite the insistence of there being extreme violence in the manga. The mother returned like a day later due to the daughter crying over (spoilers) Mami getting beheaded since Mami was the kids fave chara or something xD I remember the first time I watched Symphogear season 2 (an anime) and the mc got her arm chomped off by a monster, I instantly skipped like two episodes or something since it made me sick to my stomach. Remember parents, just cuz something looks cheerful or it's cheerful in a certain media doesn't mean it is or the original source is.
Don't know where op's mom got the thought that you can't go to heaven if your body isn't intact. Certainly not from the Bible. OP should bring up when Jesus said "better to go to Heaven with one hand than go to Hell whole". Shut down that manipulative narcissist bs immediately.
The TMNT story is especially hillarious if you know your turtles lore. They started out as (admittedly a parody of) dark and gritty comics but were heavily kiddified by the original cartoon. And while the Last Ronin story is an extreme example, most of the comics and modern adaptations aren't exactly fluffy bunnies anymore. I haven't seen Rise yet, but even the 2012 Nickelodeon series did have some pretty dark moments.
How do those religions who need the body to be intact handle something like a burst appendix? An accident that cuts off their leg? I've often wondered this. Religion is weird, man.
For the mom with the kids at camp, if the slow line of cars was the issue, why not park in OPs driveway and walk to the camp if that's faster? That's a favor. Babysitting your kids for hours, every day...for free is not a 'favor'. That's an unpaid job!
The pool story is one that is disturbingly common. My family used to have an above ground pool years ago (the only one on the street) and the amount of times that the nosy, entitled kids tried to climb the fence and swim without our knowledge was insane. They never made it over the fence, thankfully but that didn’t stop us from reporting their actions to the parents
My mom (although not a single mom) would not tolerate the crap of dumping someone else’s kids on someone Since her mom was a single mom, and she had to take care of my aunt and uncle while my grandma worked and my (biological) grandfather was out drinking (And my grandma is wouldn’t tolerate that either)
My aunt is a single mother with a 6 y/0 daughter who has heavy autism. Her son- 20y/o is not interested tbh. Because she moved to the village, I never saw her ask for help. It is always she who does all the work. This Single mom with 3 kids is a joke :./
I have a reprint of the very first Ninja Turtles comic. I showed this to a coworker who was a huge Turtles fan. She was kinda shocked by the violence in it. Eastman and Laird’s original work was no Saturday morning cartoon.
Christian here: it is NOT against the bible to be cremated. "We all come from ashes and to ashes we shall return." It's a giant metaphor for how death is inevitable and what you do with your body doesn't matter once your soul is gone.
The last story I can relate to. I work in a comic store and we have had stuff like that happen in the past, when the watchmen movie was coming out we had to warn parents about the content. You can warn parents and they will still ignore you and buy for their kids. When the movie Watchmen came out we had to warn parents about the content and still didn't listen, we even told people don't take the kids to see the movie and they ignored it. Oh and if you have not read the Last Ronin story and you like tmnt you should.
To play half of a devil's advocate, just saying "one of the turtles dies" or maybe "passes away" to make it more kid friendly probably would've gotten through to them better. Especially if they didn't know how dark the original 80's comics were. (I sure had no idea until just now!) That said, they should've taken the hint and not blamed OP or the cashier.
If that camp is close enough for OP to walk, why doesn't the mother ask if she can park at OPs house and walk over to get her kids? Oh right... cause she wants free babysitting.
