It’s also important to note that I had a known history of disordered eating. He did it anyway. I escaped that marriage and was in a new, healthy relationship two years later when I discovered that both those things constituted food insecurity, and that was why I _hated it_ when anyone came towards my food and would nearly snarl at folks about it. I’d have left that person after the first two warnings.

The answer to a threat of divorce, every time, is "okay, let's divorce." If you are with someone who is so toxic that they would recklessly use divorce as emotional manipulation, then that is the clearest red flag to get out and take the offer immediately. I've already had the conversation about this rule with my partner too. It's a very simple and effecfive boundary.

That last story burned my bum! I was blessed to be a SAHM with our daughters. I ran our household with military precision. My hubby worked his arse off every day, even though I had loads of saved money to insure being a stay at home mum wouldn’t overwhelm anything. One room was cleaned each day with the rotation repeating, two loads of laundry each day and dinner was ready within 20 minutes of husband coming home. He would come home, hug on our kids then shower. He’d help with dinner if I needed it. Once they were a bit older, they were setting the table and clearing the dishes afterwards. We were a team. Even when I went back to work, once our kids were in high school, coordinated all care, meals, chores for them, et. al. OP get rid of the dead weight and get full custody! the wife: my brother's wife was even worse than this. she would sleep all day, with a fan on to drown out the noise of the kids (at the time she had a 3-year-old and a 1-year-old), and on top of that, she was a "pet collector" she would go out and find turtles and other creatures from the local wilderness and bring them home to keep in the bathtub. meanwhile I remember my brother had three jobs at one point while also taking on odd side jobs. of course, she used to complain that he didn't spend enough time with her, but when he was actually home and not working she would sleep the whole time, and he was the one taking care of the kids not that she ever did it when he wasn't there. my father (we have different fathers) hired him once to do the cooking at our friend's party, and he could barely stay awake to do it. I remember going over to their house at like 1:00 in the afternoon to bring something over for my mother, and the 3-year old was literally hanging out the window, all the lights were off inside, the one year old's diaper was full, and she was asleep in the bedroom with the fan on full blast. obviously they eventually ended up getting divorced, the last straw for him was when she took the three year old, who was 4 by then, to be adopted by a relative three states away (not one of my brothers children, so it wasn't his call, but he was the only father that she remembered).

Story 3:Very very impossible to genuinely respect someone who spends real money on prostitution

I worked with a ISP at one point, and had to work with a group of people that it was a dark house that was very large with statues. Every window was closed and boarded up so it was pitch black in there. Looking around I saw no mirrors, and there was a butler from the movies very young, in a tux and very pale. There were two really old people that were stuck in a bed both looking in their mid 100's. When I left, they called my work cell, which I never gave them my number and asked me to come back inside for a tip afterwards when I was in my van about to drive away. Told them no thank you and drove off as quick as possible. I regret it, I could have become a vampire I think.

I'm an out of shape dude, but for 20k, I would get my fat ass up and pole dance.

I'm commenting on the topless maid story. I got a job where I would go into people's houses as a home health aide. There was one where I worked in an apartment building. The one client as we called them instead patients was the one I spent the most hours with during the week. Primarily I was put down as more of a companion and someone to help her with some minor house chores. Which most of the ones, she could do herself but there was some that were too hard for her. But I remember one of the older men in the building had been inappropriate with some of her aides But I made it clear on multiple occasions that he would not get away with doing that to me. I told him I couldn't accept a gift from him of that kind because I had a boyfriend and it would be disrespectful for me to accept a gift like that from another man. I think he finally realized after I said that, I would not entertain him in that way. Well she went up to the hall or something I can't remember anymore and she was going to have me continue mopping her kitchen while she was out. When she came back she had told me, that same man had asked me if I could go down to his apartment to fix his DVD player. I told her I wouldn't mind but I didn't want to be alone with him because I didn't trust him. I knew he wouldn't do anything if she was there with me. I went down with her. She stayed right there at the door watching even though she was mostly blind but she said that day she had a good vision day which was becoming less common at that time. But regardless she was there with me making sure he didn't do anything he shouldn't. He was right. There was an issue. I even opened the player and was unhappy to find porn of course. The disk wasn't scratched. But I put it back in after pushing in all the wires and it worked fine. I told him I thought the wires might have been loose and maybe next time try pushing them all in to see if it fixes the issue. I still don't know if it was a ploy to get me alone in the apartment or not. Or if he just really needed help. There were a few times he had me do some minor favors. Like answering a scam caller. I had some fun there. Or opening something that he couldn't get himself like a bottle or a jar because we (My client and I) were often in the community room together just to get out of the apartment. He liked the community room too. She had told me that before. That wasn't a very big apartment building. Maybe about 30 or so apartments.

I was going to say that the food story isn't that bad, until he said that she ate half of his pizza and then screamed about him eating hers! I love sharing food with my partner, but we SHARE. I take some off his plate, and he takes some off mine.

So, I get that he means well, but divorce for men, especially ones with kids, is not that great. It will probably result in him seeing his kids not that often, and be a massive financial problem for him.
