I was a security guard while pregnant. I had very strict eating habits and the fridge I used was separate from everyone else's. But still I had food and drinks go missing. I hunted the Group of thrives down pretty easily. I COULD SMELL EVERYTHING! (Pregnancy Super Powers) Plus having keys to everywhere helped.

I don’t know how anyone thinks it’s okay to steal someone else’s food. Especially at a job where you’re likely being paid enough to have lunch delivered every day. The sense of entitlement is unreal. Taking someone else’s food is depriving them of basic human necessities and forcing them to find it somewhere else or risk an empty stomach affecting their work. It’s disgusting.

I remember reading in the newspaper about these workers on a construction site where having problems with a petty thief. This had been going on for weeks so they decided to put in a hidden camera to catch the thief. When they reviewed the footage they didn't find the thief BUT they found out that one of the guys on site who they apparently hadn't been treating very well had been entering the lunch room and peeing in their tea urn. He'd apparently been doing for weeks. LMFAO 😂😂

You can FEEL how good the story is going to be with the cheeky giggle at the beginning. It's just a thing.

Once, during holiday shopping season, as I was going back to my car with packages, I had this woman "vulture" me as I walked through the parking lot. I normally don't care, but she was like two feet from me and making noise, and telling me to hurry up cuz she had shopping to do. I was actually lucky to have a fairly close spot (for mall shopping at Xmas), I got in my car, started the engine, put in reverse, backed almost all the way the out, then pulled back in turned off my engine, got out of the car and announced loudly. Sorry I forgot something. She cursed and sped off to find another spot, and I signaled to the person behind her to wait. Got in and gave the patient guy who was stuck behind her my spot. Regarding the mailings from Jehovah's Witnesses, they started doing this mostly during the pandemic, but some of their housebound or handicapped members do it because they can't physically go door to door. I think they check public records or mailing lists to get names for addresses. I also got unsolicited mail, but it was for my father who was deceased. Following his passing, I had his address changed to mine so I could handle his estate. It was shocking and a bit unnerving, but all I had to do was call and tell them to remove my address from the mailing list and they did. I know having unsolicited mail for a minor child is very disturbing, but they are generally good about not doing it if you ask. So I think the "revenge" was a bit unnecessary.

The cat food mayo thing reminds me of what my dad did, he filled an apple juice bottle with his piss and resealed the cap, when it when missing he announced that to whoever stole his apple juice, that he sincerely hoped they enjoyed drinking his pee, I forget if he saw the guy run for the toilets but no one stole lunches again as far as I know

I've asked bartenders numerous times if they could make my drink stronger, but I also tell them I'm willing to pay for the good stuff and see them add the good stuff. They usually get a pretty good tip for that.

The cat food sandwich story reminded me of my late mother in law, her 1st husband came home drunk on night and woke her up to make him something to eat. So she made him 2 sandwiches and went back to sleep. The next day when he woke up she told him that the next time he woke her up in the middle of the night to feed him he would eat the same thing he did the night before, Calcan dog food sandwiches. He never woke her up again. She was a funny, sassy, 4'9" Mexican woman!!! I may be almost 50, but when I grow up I want to be her!!!

I have a hilarious story to go with the lunch thief stories. It's one of my hubby's stories. When he worked for Walmart they had a lunch bandit that would take random lunches that were not his out of the break room fridge. They could never figure out who it was. Till one day one of his co-workers informed him to NOT eat the brownies in the fridge. That same day they found out who was stealing food that didn't belong to them after they ate some of the brownies that were so full of laxatives. Epic.

That laugh thru the 1st story always makes me smile cause I know it's going to be a good one.

I know I've told this story before, but I'll tell it again. When I was at one of my jobs, creating piece work, everything was great...we went on breaks, we had our lunches like normal ((no problems)), and things were fine. Until they hired...let's call him Ivor. Once Ivor came onto the team, things started to fall apart. He'd whine about "the job is too haaard, I don't wanna do it", "Can't we make something else? This is so boooring.", and my personal favorite "YOU do it. I'm too bored.".. Well, it turns out one day that someone's snacks started to go missing. Then two. Then more. Then it came to a lot of people's lunches had items taken out of them, or in MY case, their lunch was completely gone and when confronted about it, Ivor just shrugged it off with "I didn't see your name on it ((when it clearly *DID* have my name on it)).". The bosses then pulled us all into a meeting one day and told us, point blank, that stealing food is not allowed and the perpetrator will be fired if it happens again. You think Ivor listened? NOPE. ((Although, I was smart, I started bringing my lunch in a cooler and had it at my desk)) One day, as I was munching on my lunch, I hear one of the bosses cry out that his lunch was missing, and had anyone seen it. Gee, I wonder who took it. /s Turns out, Ivor had seen the lunch on the kitchen counter (with no name on it.. Keep in mind that I had my lunch *with* me at this point) and decided to swipe it, and act like nothing happened. Whoops.
