Cat Story - Of course I'm appalled at how Amy neglected OP's cat, but I can't help thinking that OP having covered for Amy so often when she was "crap" at her job sort of contributed to this mess. Sometimes you cover for a friend, sometimes you don't.

So he knew she was torturing other people's cats and expected her to treat his cat better. ESH and all should go to jail.

It is "Amy"s kids that I'm most concerned about. "Amy" is claiming OP is destroying her kids life. But if she is that abusive and neglectful to the animals that are in her care, then she is probably no more caring in the way she treats her own kids.

To me it sounds like the OP of the "cat story" knew how bad the animals were treated before and did nothing because the coworker was friendly. Then decided to act when it happened to their own cat.

Last story: OP isn't the greatest person either. They only got revenge after their cat was the one who suffered. They knew about the bad employee's work place conduct and kept it a secret. How long had OP been complicit in the mistreatment of customers' pets by keeping info to themselves? Hopefully they aren't looked as a hero for saving pets. OP should not be surprised that they left their pet with subpar caretakers since they helped hide it until now.

"Amy" from the last story should look on the bright side - she doesn't need to worry about paying for childcare anymore because, now that she no longer has a job, she'll be at home all day and can watch her own kids. 😂

The story about the manager not caring about OP's dying family member is heartbreaking. Back in 2019 of June just days before I was to graduate from high school my own grandmother, the only grandparent that I ever knew in my life passed away. For the seniors at my school we were doing senior field trips and one of the days was meant to go to the school where my school held the graduation at was for us to practice for us walking and taking our seats. My school's vice principal said that we skipped that day then the student who skipped that day of practice will not walk at graduation. If that had been me and I was pulled aside by him and him telling me that I was not gonna be allowed to walk at my graduation then I would have acted like OP only with me in rage and in tears while trying to tell him that I was at a funeral for my dead grandma, which at the time I didn't know if I would even be allowed to walk if I had skipped that day. Lucky for me the funeral was held on a different day then the day of precative

Last story, calling her a hypocrite is mostly true. Some people don’t consider animals deserving the same treatment as kids. Which is horrible. As a childcare worker, I believe they are both innocent lives put in your charge, and both deserve care.

In my opinion, the elderly, babies(children) and animals are off limits and should be protected! PERIOD.

what I don't understand is how OP thought it was a good idea to leave his cat with someone he knew was bad at their job...which was taking care of cats.

The guy is saying he's doing this as revenge, but as he told his boss, if she's doing this to co-workers pets what is she doing to clients pets. Making sure to turn in the poor pet care from someone who is suppose to be caring for pets is a moral and job requirement.

The story about jay and his employer is sadly VERY VERY common. In low wage jobs, they literally tell you they don’t care at all about what’s going on in your life, if you don’t show up, you’re fired. I’ve lost a job for going to the hospital. I had a mental health condition and needed hospitalization for a few days to sort out my medications. I had a certified doctors note. My boss told me that if I didn’t give him all my paperwork and a detailed reason for my hospitalization, that I couldn’t come back. He wanted me to tell him all my personal information, all my medications and my medical history. The same job almost fired me previously because my father got REALLY sick and literally ripped the IV out of his arm and tried to escape the hospital. My mom called begging me to come help her. They let me go, but they took my highest paying shift away as retaliation.

It's stories like these that always make me hesitant to put my cat in a kennel or anywhere else when I go away. Can you just imagine being a cat enjoying your life and your human drops you off in this strange place. Days go by living in terrible conditions wondering if your human is going to come back or did they just abandon you. It would be awful.

The boss gave a perfectly justifiable (and polite, considering she had been stealing his clients) response to Amy: if you really cared about your job, you would have done it well. It's nice to see the rare occasion when someone gets hit with karma. The problem with today's society is that amoral behavior is perceived as cleverness and not selfishness/shamelessness.

The first story makes me realize how fucked up my first manager was…I was 16 and we weren’t allowed to have our phones during our shifts, and there weren’t many clocks in the work areas. He used to write ME up whenever I missed a break, which wasn’t an uncommon occurrence because I was always the one told to stay late to finish tasks when all the other high school students were told to go home. He also used to call me when I was on vacation and scream at me that I needed to be at the store in ten minutes if I wanted to keep my job, even though I’d had those days off for literally months and the schedule said that I wasn’t supposed to be working.

Human equivalent of shooting fish in a barrel: Backfilling the hole they've dug themselves into. With them still inside it. If someone did that to my cats, my parents' cats, or their dog, I would be on a warpath and there would be piles of bodies in my wake. I take no prisoners.

The car story is not even OP's action that leads to the pro revenge. Thanks to her boss and that dumb Matt's karma. All that OP has done was keeping the evidence and putting up with that BS. She is lucky that her boss is cool as that. She should have taken any action after that guy's first rude comment like blocking his number or formed a complaint.

My question for OP is if she knew what Amy was like at work not taking proper care of the animals ..What made her think she would do better with her cat.?

First story happened to my dad. He was a private lawyer. His dad was gonna pass soon and his boss told him no you gotta stay and work. There were a couple reasons he left But that was the big one. He left and became a governmental lawyer freeing up more time but not as much pay. But I'm proud of him.

I think what horrified me the most about that last story is that OP knew all of this was happening behind the scenes; she KNEW Amy wasn’t properly taking care of the animals, and that she was terrible at her job. So why did she leave her cat in the care of these women knowing they were so horrible? Not only that, she only started to care once it was her own pet that was being mistreated? Op is just as much to blame as Amy is in this situation and only took action once it directly affected her. Shame on her for sitting on this for so long.

That last story makes no sense. So OP knew his colleagues were bad at their job and still left his precious cat with them thinking it would be ok? Maybe to save a dime?

The second I heard “tortured a cat” I knew I was going to need to hunt these people down. This is coming from someone who HATES cat and are almost deathly allergic to them, but even I would never. EVER hurt a cat in any way

That last story made my blood boil. I have a cat myself, and I love him with my whole heart. If anyone abused my cat, I would do anything to make them suffer. I'm so glad OP had the chance to not only get revenge for their cat, but also warn others to never entrust Amy to take care of any pets.

As someone who had a cat who was my best friend. He passed away earlier this year, I miss my buddy. I wish OP there took it a few notches further, people who neglect and treat pets like that deserve every last piece rage you can direct to them. And then the hypocrisy on top of that made it so to be honest, I doubt she was taking decent care of her kid.

The last story really gets me... if the OP was able to find 6 firable offenses in just one afternoon then there was no way people were unaware of the conditions there. The owner, the manager, and even OP and other coworkers dropped the ball hard. OP would have had to go into the kennel to get/ drop off animals receiving vet care, how did he just ignore cages full of excrement? Problems like this dont start overnight, everyone who worked there is complicit or negligent in allowing amy to abuse those animals. OP did not get prorevenge op should be ashamed to have not noticed or cared until his own pet was harmed.

As gruesome as cat abuse is, working a minor for 13 hours with no break and a lack of care towards the deceased is about as reprehensible.

Wow! That last one about the cat made my blood boil and got my hackles up! I'm so thankful that the vet techs/kennel techs took such wonderful care of my cat when I had to board her at our Vet's office! They truly cared about my cat as if she were their own and loved when my sweet kitty came for a visit because she was so even tempered and personable!

The cat story absolutely made me livid. I’ve been a kennel attendant for over 10 years, and this level of animal neglect from that woman is sickening. A kennel that dirty must be fully cleaned immediately. That’s not only disgusting, it’s a major health and sanitation hazard. If an animal has a contagious disease that spreads easily and isn’t cleaned on a regular basis, you can spread it to the entire building and get not only the animals, but every staff member and their pets sick. And believe me, these cleaning protocols are very strict. Because it’s not just the rules, it’s the law. It’s against animal welfare laws to keep any animal in unsanitary conditions and not do anything about it. And it doesn’t matter if it’s a pet, livestock, or wild animal. It doesn’t even matter if it’s a freaking elephant or llama. The laws are basically the same.

The cat story freaks me out a little. My mom worked with animals for years and her name is Lisa. Good thing my mother is too sweet and emotional to do such a thing to a cat. She works in childcare now and everyone at her work loves her including the little ones!

Gosh I hate managers when it comes to labour laws. When I was 16 I got a job doing kitchen prep and washing dishes for a restaurant. The owner/ manager was not a very generous person and even though she hired me, I don’t think she looked at any labour laws before she did. **apparently** me taking my break made her mad so she walked in the back, called me lazy and tutored me in how to wash dishes for the remainder of my incredibly short break.

years ago, we went on vacation, and boarded our cat with a vet clinic. when we came back and picked him up, he stank of cat urine, and had to be bathed. we were furious, we loved our cat. no animal should be treated with such cruelty !

Seeing this video when I have two cats... yeah, I'll just say that I'd go insane if someone hurt my babies. Hell, I'd go insane over ANY little love getting hurt! I volunteered at the shelter they were from. Until I got my baby girl, Flo, with my parent's permission (I still live with them but am in college and have a job) I got attached to all these lovely cats that were simply *full* of personality and deserved nothing but love and care. We had our fare share of skittish cats, and often, cats like that have been traumatized. And I met my cats there. But one cat I think about the most. We called him Farzley. He had beautiful orange fur, but was scraggly and weak. Sweet as pie, loved his treats and wet food, but thin as a rail. And when I say thin, I mean it. I don't think there was one bit of fat on Farzley's body. When I pet him, I could feel his spine and ribs. You could see his shoulders moving whenever he walked. It absolutely broke my heart, and he never gained an ounce. Hyperthyroidism, they said, because we fed him and fed him and he just didn't gain weight. He vanished from the shelter one day- into the foster care program we had set up. Not even a week, and he passed away. His body just shut down, even though the foster was trying so hard to give him love and care. He just couldn't keep up with his condition anymore. I cried once I got that email, a lot. He wasn't even my baby, I adopted both mine by then, but it still destroyed me. The other ladies found him under a bridge before the shelter took him in [and later the person who fostered him], carrier left open, clearly abandoned. It was winter; cold, and wet Canadian winter. He must have been freezing with how thin he was. We tried out best to save this sweetheart that was practically a walking ghost, but we couldn't do it. And every day I think about the fact that someone took this cat and just fucking dumped him under a bridge in the dead of winter. He would have died faster, miserably, if the shelter hadn't found him. If you can't care for him, surrender him to a shelter. Ours was no-kill, and no judgment. But they didn't. They left that sweet little boy to die. So anybody who acts like "Amy" or "Lisa" in this story? Or dumps an innocent cat out there, cold and alone, to fend for themselves? Yeah, I'd bring utter hell down upon them. People like that are the reason why Farzley died instead of having a chance at the best life he could have. Rest well Farzley, we miss you every day little guy. I hope you're enjoying lots of wet food and treats in kitty heaven
