When it's cut (iirc when dry) with a chainsaw, it can make sparks because of how hard it is. It’s one thing if your dog gets out and someone accidentally hits them, and especially if they apologize. That’s happened to two of my family’s three dogs. One got away while being babysat along with my sister at a friend’s house in the country. Thankfully it was a gravel road with some give and he was just pretty badly bruised up. But the people who hit him didn’t stop to even check on him. That still pisses me off. And our little lab mix once darted out the front door when my mom opened it to receive a package. She ran into the road right as someone was driving by. Well, he was only going max 20 mph and just clipped her. He stopped immediately, frantically searching for her (she had immediately run back into the house) and my mom spent a good ten minutes consoling him and assuring him that she was perfectly okay, just bruised a bruised butt and a bruised ego! When she told me who it was, I just knew his feelings were more hurt than Mom’s or Sophie’s. He is such a kind, gentle, sweet man. I cannot imagine learning that someone TARGETED my fur baby. Forget ruining their life. If someone ran over my dog, I’d run them over.

The last story struck a chord. I had a short time rental, as I was moving out of the area, and the apartment I rented seemed nice initially. On move in day, it had not been cleaned at all - the carpeted floor was covered in dead bugs from the fumigation. Later in the bathroom, I wondered why the fan did not appear to be functioning. It made noise, but failed the 'tissue' test. Reason - the exhaust port was covered up by the stairs to the second floor, and the fan just filled the stud cavity with moist air, resulting in BLACK MOLD. I was only there for 7 months and left. Oh, a TREE was growing in the rain gutter at the back of the apartment - 'out of sight, out of mind' I guess.

Story 3: Often times, the fastest way to get a company to act on an issue, is to complain about the issue in a public venue. A streamer I watch occasionally has copyright issues on RU-vid and Twitch. Man, I can tell that before even listening to this episode, it's going to be a tough one because, literally a few days ago, on the 1st of February, a shuttle bus driver murdered my dog and didn't bother to stop and help or see if she was okay. Instead, they hit her in the head, dragged her about 50 yards down the road, got to a corner and turned. I hadn't even had my dog for a year, but she was my buddy; I couldn't sleep that day. I was afraid too, and I had already been up for over 24 hours at that point because I was trying to fix my sleep schedule. So I had a lot of anxiety (And still do); my Gpa picked up her corpse and put her in the back of the van to take her to be cremated; the blood just poured out of her ear like a waterfall. My dog was a Hug (Siberian husky + Pug) and 40 - 45 lbs. I got her after going through some extremely crippling depression and anxiety where I would legit break down and cry multiple times a day over the smallest of things. You can't sit there and tell me you didn't feel you hit something; Hell, my Dad and I were talking, and he mentioned how people know when they hit small animals like squirrels. And was this reported to the bus company? Yes, it was; another housemate called the company, and she asked to speak to the superintendent or super-something and the people on the line at first just gave us the runaround, being transferred from person to person. Before getting to the higher-ups, they said they would look into it immediately. I am still waiting to hear back; if we don't hear back by Monday, we're calling again, and if nothing still, then we're going up to the building because I want an apology and compensation. Also, I'll add She has two collars that she wore, one with her tags and the other a shock collar for an electric fence that was working. But when she was found, the shock collar was gone, and she would never leave the yard. I don't know what possessed her to do so that day, as she had been out before prior without a collar and never left. Also, one day before we had her collar trained, she chewed through her leash so she could have run away, be she instead stayed in the yard. If you rear-end someone, you're at fault; I would assume it's the same for a pedestrian or animal.
@Dr.RatioSnail
@Dr.RatioSnail Год назад
Any future pets you have should be behind a real fence not an electric one. I hope you get justice for your dog. But please consider an actual physical fence in the future. Electric fences often fail to stop dogs from leaving yards. They also aren't good at keeping dogs in.

Which sadly means that she likely started making this diluted belief she can police the entire park and making numerous empty threats to anyone she feels that isn't "one of her people" to force them out of "her" park so she can have it all to herself. Since she was so busy raising her kid(s) and forcing people to bend over backwards for her for the past 10 years, she had simply forgot about this Indian teen she screamed at the park one time. We were living in an apartment that was part of a three building complex, with a maintenance staff that consisted of a super, an assistant super and 3 or 4 laborers. Tenants were told to contact the super for repairs, and then he or one of his employees would respond. One Sunday night I noticed some water on my bathroom ceiling that was clearly coming from the apartment above ours. So on Monday we called the super and left a message on his answering machine. No one showed up. The amount of water dripping from the ceiling increased. On Tuesday we called the super, spoke to his wife. No one showed up, and now water was gushing from the ceiling. We called again Wednesday, got the answering machine, left a message that the ceiling was about to collapse, no one showed up. On Thursday we called the building management. A very sheepish super showed up Thursday night. Turns out that the pipe leading from drain in the bathtub above ours was broken, so that every time the upstairs neighbors showered, all of that water wound up in the space between their floor and our ceiling. The plumbers had to tear up their floor to replace the pipe. And our entire bathroom ceiling had to be replaced.

She says something (which I thought was weird) to her daughter. So I randomly ask out of pure instinct “what does that word mean?” And she gives me this stare like I just touched her and her daughter. She leaves and apparently she calls up the store trying to say that I’m some kind of pedo. I had to explain to my boss what happened. Later she tried to get on town talk Facebook page and call me out as a pedo. Luckily because a lot of people knew me from the store they came to my defense and basically blasted her for being a moron. Lol Not really my revenge. More like karma but it worked out hilariously. 😂

Story1: The delivery person who let the dog out should be liable bc she wasn't supposed to enter the house. I'd have raised hell with the people in charge of the delivery service over that. That poor dog! Man, I would not have had the same amount of restraint as OP. That jerk would have been on the ground bleeding if he'd done that to my dog. As an aside, I live in a remote area on a dead end in the woods where no one has any business coming here unless they are delivering a package or are invited. One day some jerks opened the front gate to trespass on their 4-wheelers and decided that tearing up my lawn wasn't enough so they were actively trying to run my dogs over. I went outside and told them to stop and GTFO. They flipped me off, called me a stupid bitch and laughed. My brother then went and got our M-14, he gave them a warning, they responded the same. He then fired a shot that took out two tires. They started screaming and yelling and he told them "I told you to GTFO and leave my dogs alone. Next shot is hitting flesh!" The guy on the 4-wheeler with intact wheels put a chain from his vehicle to the other one & towed it out while we warned them that next time there would be no warning shots-- trespassers will be shot. They never came back. Ugh, so the guy deliberately ran over the dog on the OP's property. What a complete scumbag! People who kill animals like that are one step below serial killers. They should be put in prison for life. I believe there are now laws that harming/killing pets like that is a felony on the federal level. I'm feeling the OP on wanting to beat the dirtbag down. Someone poisoned my dogs (many years after the incident with the 4-wheelers) and I'm pretty sure it was my neighbors but could never prove it. I wanted to kill whoever did it in the most brutal way possible. I'm glad OP got the land away from the jerk & a restraining order. Too bad that the papers can't keep someone away. OP should have had criminal charges filed for trespassing, destruction of property, & cruelty to animals. Story2: Ugh. I hate when people pull that "You have to speak English" bullshit. I think one of the best responses I saw was when a lady yelled that and the person turned around and said "FUUUUCK YOUUU". It makes me wish I could speak another language just so I could piss them off even more. I would have told that lady to shut the fuck up. I think the office ladies would totally understand why OP fired the bitch.

It also meant that all of the weight of my window was one, equally rusty, hinge. The hinges on the windows in my apartment were vertical and swung outwards, over a lawn were kids used to play. I had to call every day for nearly a week for the property owners to send someone out to fix it. Every day I had to explain to the girl on the phone that the window was about to *fall down* and there were *kids playing beneath it!* Finally the repair man came, and left metal saw dust all over my bedroom floor. In the apartment door story, where I live, if the cops break down the door of a residence, doesn't matter if it's a house or an apartment, to get a suspect, and it is not the suspects house, and the suspect does not have permission to be on the property, then they have to pay to replace it, and often times, send out a contractor themselves to replace it. A friend of mine had their door kicked in by police in a no knock entry for a drug bust. The problem is that they were at the wrong house. His address was 246, and the house they were supposed to be entering was 264. They had to replace his front door and a glass sliding door in the back because they did a simultaneous entry in the front and back. They were not happy they had the wrong house, and he was even less happy that he had to wait a week without doors on his house.

God the last 2 stories about shitty landlords are so relatable. My apartment got broken into while I was visiting family during a break from uni. I only noticed a pair of Switch joycons missing, I had most of my valuables with me. The thieves jimmied the front door, which was locked, open somehow. I later found out the following: 1. The caretaker of the apartment complex has been telling the respective landlords/real estate agents to put deadbolts on the doors for years. Apparently the way it goes is that they refuse because they're all penny-pinching cheap-asses, then someone gets broken into (petty crime rate here is stupidly high) and THEN they finally put a deadbolt on. So basically they won't prevent the problem, only fix it afterwards. 2. When my real estate agent (she's nice, bless her) told the landlord that she got the locks replaced and a deadbolt installed on my front door, after a thief BROKE IN AND ROBBED ME, he apparently lost his shit on her about how she's wasting all his money and how it shouldn't be his responsibility to replace the locks and blah blah. Like holy shit. I also later noticed a perfectly + shaped cut in my bedroom screen door near the lock, which to me seems like someone tried to open it. I'm not 100% sure but I actually feel like this was a SEPERATE incident because I was on high alert after returning to the apartment and feel like I would've noticed it sooner than like 2-3 weeks later. We reported that to the real estate agent and apparently the landlord's response was "How do you know she didn't just stumble into it drunk and damage it?" *facepalm* I know I'm in uni but I don't even drink, plus who's ever heard of something like that happening? It still hasn't been fixed 6 months later. And then there's the non-safety issues. Spare bedroom aircon was broken for ages and we had to threaten to breach them before they finally fixed it. I live in the tropical north of Austalia and it gets hot as fuck here, my parents actually moved the mattress to the floor of another room with ac when they visited lol. Also my shower door has been broken for months (pain in the ass to get open and shut, pretty much have to fight it every time) and after pestering the real estate agents enough they sent someone out to look at it, who said it'd have to be replaced and he'd send the landlord a quote. That also hasn't been fixed, almost a year later. Oh also my rent is $420 a week, my landlord decided to try and raise it to $450 when the lease was up for renewal and we only managed to talk him down to $440. A $20 a week increase for no reason even when he never fixes anything. Renting is so fun...

Oh man, leasing offices from hell stories.... During my last year in Austin, I lived in this shitty apartment complex. One night, about a month and a half before I was set to move out, I noticed my ceiling leaking. Well, that's not good. I call emergency maintenance. Dude comes out, looks at my ceiling, goes upstairs (I lived on the first floor), comes back, tells me he can't find the problem and to call if it happens again (it had stopped by this point but I had a soaking wet towel under the spot it was leaking out of). I kind of forgot about it because whatever, I'm moving anyway. Then it happened again. And again. In the same spot. I kept a mop bucket under it at all times and moved my cat's food to my bedroom since it was safe in there. Like, idk what nasty water that is, I don't want it getting in my cat's food. I call maintenance, they keep saying the same thing. Finally one Friday morning, about a month before my move out date, I wake up and there's a fucking BUBBLE in my ceiling. About the size of my head, probably. I let my boss know I was going to be late, then went to the leasing office and demanded they call maintenance because this had been an ongoing problem and even I know bubbles in ceilings AREN'T GOOD. The same fucking guy comes, looks at it, mumbles something I can't really hear, then disappears. I go back to the leasing office to demand answers, the girl says he probably went to get some stuff. I say I need to leave for work, they say they can go in and take care of it with my permission. Fucking fine. I locked my cat in my bedroom for the day and went to work. There was no sign anyone had been there when I got home, and the bubble was still there, so I put in ANOTHER maintenance request - all of these are well-documented in the online portal. Guy takes TWO HOURS to come, says he can't do anything now, and he'll come back in the morning. Are you actually fucking kidding me. Okay. Saturday, I have plans with a friend that include tickets to a show that I've been dying to see. I once again go to the maintenance office as soon as they open - it's the same girl, I tell her I have the SAME PROBLEM that I did yesterday, she said she'll call the maintenance guy. I went back to my apartment to wait. One hour passes. Two. I go back to the office. She says he'll be there in an hour. Shockingly, he does not show up. She says he's wrapped up in an emergency in another part of the complex. I break at this point and say, "Is the leaking bubble in my ceiling NOT AN EMERGENCY?" She says he'll be there in an hour. I say I'm leaving in two hours, and NO, they do NOT have permission to enter my apartment this time because I'm not locking my cat up all night again and I sure as fuck don't trust them to not let her out or her hurt her. Two hours pass, still no fucking sign of this guy. I tell the office girl I'm leaving and reiterate they are NOT allowed in my apartment after I'm gone tonight. She says he'll come around tomorrow. I put in *three different requests* on Sunday until I finally get this guy to come to my apartment and get the exact. same. answer. My ceiling caved in around 3am the next morning. Plaster and dust and gross water everywhere. I thought my cat was dead for a minute, but she'd run under the bed. I put in several maintenance requests and call repeatedly until the SAME GUY shows up, looks at the GIANT HOLE IN MY CEILING and the plaster on the floor, says, "Nothing I can do until morning" and leaves. I ended up in a screaming match with the office manager who said it was my fault for not allowing them access on Saturday night after I left. Bullshit. Never rent from Avesta in Austin Texas y'all, they were literally the worst.

The audacity of some purely American Karens to demand to speak a certain language - not only "their" country, but around them personally - is immeasurable When I was visiting the US speaking my language on the phone with people home, I had nothing but a person curiosly askong me, what language I am speaking, followed up by a short and nice conversation. I am awaiting the day I will meet a pure breed Karen. My verbal shredder is ready.

If someone hurt my dog or cats, they would’ve chosen death. I would make sure no one would find that person ever again.

The funny thing about the USA is there is no set national language because of the 1st amendment, meaning that, quite literally, people can speak whatever language they want here
