I think the Grandpa knew that the OP had been set up with the loaded gun by the OP’s cousin. That’s why there was the clause in the will about taking what wasn’t given to them. He knew the cousin was a slimy little weasel. The plan was to probably to just have OP out for a little to make it seem like the cousin won and then have them back. He just happened to have a heart attack before that last part. Keep your head up OP; your grandpa loved you and knew you were the real MVP.

You're cool with me, warning, because frankly I don't want to do the paperwork. I think you have a problem with cops and think they should be abolished or that YOU should be the police. This is scary. Secondly, why didn't the cousin report him to his superiors? If he fails a UA, blood test, hair follicle, ect. He would be terminated. There would be no questions. He may also be arrested and charged for being armed while intoxicated. This is a felony. This it what I would have done. As for the story where OP tricks the pen thieves at work, I'm a Lefty, I curl my hand around paper, leaving it straight. I LOVE G2 pens because they write easily, dry quickly, and don't transfer ink to the side of my hand. Having said that, a few of my favorite G2 colors are the dark red, the dark blue, and the purple, which I keep hoping they'll put out in a dark shade like the red, blue and green. Unfortunately, I have to buy the multi packs to get my favorites because, I haven't found refills, nor do they sell them singularly. Which also means I end up with LOADS of colors I don't like/use. So, I've just started leaving them in random places like customer service counters, restaurant tables, etc. Because finding a free, quality pen in a pretty color hopefully makes someone happy, AND declutters my collection.

The amount he was trying to take wasn’t small, though; that’s precisely how he ended up playing himself. If he’d snatched only one box or just a few pieces and fled quickly, he’d have gotten away with it. Maybe by the skin of his teeth, but still. But he wanted it all, and his greed overwhelmed his common sense and self-preservation. A few missing pieces wouldn’t necessarily be noted-although grandpa sounded like a smart cookie, so I wouldn’t be surprised if there were a detailed inventory filed away somewhere. But if *everything* went missing, people were bound to investigate. Cousin doesn’t seem to have thought of this. Years ago, in Kelowna, Canada (a very popular retirement and tourist destination) we had a similar situation to story #3. The farmer owned a plot of land in the middle of the city. Back then the province declared that all farmland had to go through a special, very convoluted process to convert agricultural land to commercial or residential property. The province didn't want to lose any farmland than absolutely necessary. But this was a relatively small lot in the middle of the city and the farmer was too old to farm anymore. After many years of not getting anywhere with the Agricultural Land Commission, the farmer decided to, "Restart his farm". Well, you need fertilizer to restart farming, don't you? In the hot August heat the farmer had two truckloads of chicken manure delivered to the perimeter of his property. He said the same thing. Well, it's agricultural land, so I might as well use it as agricultural land and farm it. You guys won't let me do anything else with it. Very shortly after that, the British Columbia Agricultural land Commission felt that rezoning one tiny plot of land in the middle of Kelowna wouldn't have that much of an impact on agricultural land. No one has ever seen rezoning paperwork go through the system that fast before or since.

Glad it worked out, in my case, my grandfather died, grandma lived another 13 years after and began draining the trust for her youngest who was spoiled and always begging for this and that, like how she paid for his knee surgery with no insurance and bought him 2 homes in Florida and a truck, all of which he put reverse mortgage on. He even potentially abused her, but there was nothing we could do to stop it from halfway across the United States especially as she wouldn't open up about it. When she died, he "died" within 2 months after (in his 50s) cause he couldn't stand life without mommy paying everything for him. My grandfather who died a millionaire left $500 to his four children through grandma in the end. We didn't even accept the agreement, because it was so abhorrent it wasn't worth waiving our rights to contest someday for $500.

She was a really kind and generous woman, and many people could not have gone forward (successfully ) in their lives without her. Many of the descendants have asked for money, but before she checked and tried to teach them to help themselves when next in that situation, then loaned them the money, expecting it back. As sort of related to the Pen thief story. At work, I went to the communal supply locker to get a highlighter and took an Orange one cause I hate bright yellow. After a while a co-worker (who is VERY set in his ways) saw it and mentioned that the Orange ones "were only for the Receiving Department", which I was not apart of. There are no set rules for highlighters in the company. Less than a week later my highlighter went missing. I know who took it, but I never brought it up...I just went and got another one and hid it in my desk drawer. Another quick one. I had a pen that had 4 colours in 1 (bought myself, not company owned). I had opened the pen up and put a dab of liquid paper on inside to identify it as mine cause there were a couple of those pens floating around. I left it on desk and over the weekend it went missing. I later found it on someone's workstation and opened it and saw the liquid paper. The guy that took it (not the same guy from the above story) and I DO NOT get along. I'm not surprised that he took it just to be a petty jerk and try and piss me off.

Similar thing happened in my neighborhood. We were grandfathered into the city but with county guidelines still in affect. There was a 3 acre empty lot in the middle of our neighborhood and the city sold it to build a semi private community of fancy houses. As soon as the houses were finished, people moved in and immediately complained about my neighbors 4 horses. Claimed they smelled and they never picked up the manure. They went to the city and the city shrugged and said "Want a free fence?" So they got a 10 foot tall fence and can't see my neighbors anymore. I’m a teacher and I LOVE Pilot G-2 pens. However, students are NOTORIOUS for stealing pens off teachers’ desk at my school. I use this SAME trick. My black pens are all colorful and my colored pens are all black. I get my pen thieves by writing black with a pen with the color matching the ink in their stolen pen. Do not mess with me, thieves!

Even if the cousin tried to arrest op, he would be in trouble for violating personal space, letting his child take op’s gun (stealing) and threatening to make arrest off duty over something so trivial.

There should be 3 tiers of prorevenge: 1: Small prank/person being annoying, under $1000 2: A little crime involved, something like screwing over a shed OP is building. $1,000 - $15,000/a few years in prison. 3: Life-changing revenge: permanent credit score below 550, decades in jail. $15,000 - $2,000,000 Anything higher is nuclear revenge.

I'll never forget when my grandpa was still alive. My ex step dad helped my mom out by watching him while she was at work. It worked fine, till around when my grandpa passed. Cause my step dad was drunk and was trying to say my mom cheated him out of my grandpa's house and he was threatening to call the cops. Even tho my grandpa didn't have a will My mom was his only child and exterior of his estate. She got so mad at my step dad and yelled at him that when if my grandpa did have a will his house would NOT go to my step dad. If it went to anyone it would be me since I was his closest grandchild to him and the apple of his eye. Thankfully he didn't try anything and 8 years later we still live in my grandpa's house. And my step dad rarely comes around.

If you went to a A.C.E.-acculturation private school, you know the value of red-inked pens. I switched the inks of a red pen and a blue pen. They are used to check your homework, but are only allowed at the scoring station. Your homework is done in these booklets called PACEs So yes, you check your own work. The grade comes from when you take a test at the end of the booklet. If you fail, they go over your PACE, and see if you actually graded work correctly and learned from your mistakes, by actually redoing your work. See, if it was all “correct” you moved on. You could very easily grade your all correct when of course you did not. If it shows you did not correct your work, where labeled a cheater. You have to go the principal’s office, get detention, blah, blah, blah, and redo the PACE. You redo it again to if just suck at tests, but you don’t get in trouble. (any questions, this is very hard for me to describe).

My aunts did something like that...when my grandmother died they kinda broke into the house(my stepgrandpa still lived in) and took a bunch of stuff I already know im going to be an agent for karma, me nor my mother were able to ask for anything and I wanted a painting of my grandma(which i was never going to ask for until my stepgrandfather passed cuz I figured he wanted the painting of his wife) my aunt took it(while my grandpa was still alive, he passed recently due to covid, so i would have requested it now) its hung in a dining area at my aunts...in the dark where you can barely see it This is like a, "you hired a person to paint you kind of thing", not just a basic thing or a kids drawing....and its in a dark place you can hardly see and makes me depressed when I visit her house .... I know for a fact I will own that painting one day so it gets the honor it deserves, so my grandma can be remebered in the light And if that means doing to my aunt what she did to my grandma to get it...im petty enough to do it ..... I know i was probably supposed to get that painting anyway, im first born granddaughter, im named after her(middlename), I got her wedding dress, flower crown and pearls and grandfather clock we had to donate, probably was eventually suposed to inherit the portrait too(especially from talks with my grandparents when I was kid pointing it out all the time) ... Yes im kind of still angry about it all 10yrs later

There are some cultures where it is traditional to put as much of your savings as possible into jewelry. If the grandma had that sort of background then they might not be quite as rich as rSlash suspects. Also, when OP says "putting them through collage" he may mean less depending on where OP is, he may also be accounting for stuff like uni loans, scholarships and the parents current collage fund(if they have one). Alternatively they may just be really really rich especially if they had employee shares of a large company a good retirement fund etc etc

A few blocks from where I live. There's a shopping center with just a few leased shops. At the corner there's one house, the previous owners of the shopping center tried to buy out the home owner but not as commercial so the owner never sold his property. It's been there for at least 20 years+ LOL. The shopping center however has changed owners several times.

LOL, I joined one of my friends world in Minecraft, because I had asked him if I could join five times an hour earlier, and I got bored and joined. One of the people who was in that world said “I’ll send ____ to beat you up if you don’t leave”. The person he said that he would tell to beat me up was literally my one of my bff’s for nine years, and I was like “yeah, good luck with that”. LOL 😂 I also asked that particular friend if he would ever beat me up for that reason ever, he said NO. So I’m thankful for that friend. I’m also a little pissed at my two other friends in that world.

Instead of changing the pen colour, OP should of used some blue cream marking die on the body of the pen. That stuff gets all over you and is permanent. It won't was off at all. You'd be able to find the pen thief for days afterwards. Being in a machine shop they'd have some. And a little would do wonders, and with the oil and grease being on everything at a machine shop. No one would feel the cream either. We used to use it as a joke on ppl. Put a dab on the inside of the handle on a toolbox or a dab on the bottom side of a wrench or something. The target would have machine bluing on everything and all over themselves before they usually would notice! Funny as hell, until they get you anyway.

Lesson to be learned: If you have a dodgy relative who works in law enforcement or any other law profession and you know they're out to get you in trouble and try to take money that they haven't earned, you'll do well to record and document *everything!* Set up small, inconspicuous cameras to record all private property, audio-tape every conversation possible, and most importantly check any and every legal clause that can either be used against you or that you can use against their corrupt plans to stay ahead of the curve.

I always thought something was wrong with the first story. My first thought was "Oh, there was a case? Well the case can't have disappeared into thin air, right?" But also, "Record that shit. Mention a key and never what it goes to. When he tries to say "There is no case!" you hit him with that "I didn't mention a case. I mentioned a key to where it was. Could have been a room key, a safe key, a diary key. Anything. But I never said a safe. You just got caught in a lie where the truth is you found a key, found the case, loaded the gun, and handed it to your child, which is a lot more damning than your child going into a room I've asked you to keep them out of and coming across something they shouldn't have."

Story 1: So the cousin and his shitty wife were so eager to get all the money that they framed OP and tried ruining OP's life. Pro revenge on greedy bastards is so effin sweet cuz those who are greedy only see dollar signs and no possible way things could come back to bite them! So OP's sneaky revenge was well worth it and justified! I love stories like this. The cousin got trapped by a gold digger wife who baby trapped him and then left him when he lost it all. Story 2: Really? Pen thievery?? What are we? In middle school???? Story 3: That farmer is the real MVP for this! Smelly justice is the best justice XD

In Belgium, you need a permit to own a gun. But there are very strict rules such as : Ammo and gun needs to be in 2 different safes with different codes (can't be similar ones either) and you need to go shoot with your weapon xx times per year in an official gun club or you'll lose the license and gun. Etc......
