I think what impresses me most is that this car is from 1975! 1600lbs, 3.0 liter 4 cam 32 valve V8 with mechanical fuel injection making 375+horsepower at 9000rpm. How did this technology exist in the dark ages of the 70s? And why THE HELL wasn't this technology used in production cars? Yeah, sure, I would rather have a Ford Pinto that's carrying at least 500lbs more weight, has less than a third of the horsepower from its carbureted 2.0 liter OHC four cylinder, only has independent suspension in the front, and relies on tiny four wheel drums to stop! SO HIGH TECH! Way to go, Ford USA! In the seventies Ford (among others) continued to use technology from two decades ago, while Le Mans was cutting edge! That is why I love Le Mans!

The 3 valve Ferrari 330P4 of 1967 has a unique sound all it's own I got to hear them for 24 Hours, Daytona 1967 1-2-3 The Ford Mk. II's all had differential gear/transaxle failures. Bad heat treatment by KarKraft.....in new boxes... Demanded by FoMoCo.... Like the GT-40 engine changes in 1965, forced on ShelbyAmerican.... For LeMans.... Over his engines. FAIL! So Ferrari WON! Not seen in that fish story movie.... FORZA FERRARI J.C.

FYI- The ALFA Romeo Tipo-33/3 3.0 liter V-8 is every bit as nice as the DFV. WON Le Mans and the Championship in the same era. Can be found here on YT.... Many will tell you that the Matra 630 V-12 is best of ALL!!! Even Ferrari fans, like ME! WON Le Mans 1972 with Graham Hill We LOST Jo Bonnier, that event.... Lola 212 DFV Halfway to Indy Corner @ c.190 mph.... A real horror story! No podium ceremony... Hill was first on the scene deep in the trees A ghastly scene He, and WE, lost a friend...
