I have this little plane (for about a year now), flies really well once TX setup is adjusted. Glad you are reviewing it! It is very fun and I would suggest pilots download their software and adjust the rates and expo as this plane REALLY needs it! I found that adjusting to these settings worked the best for me: D/R: Expo: Aileron: 60% 50% (-50%; both UP and DWN for CH1) Elevator: 100% 40% (-40%; both UP and DWN for CH2) Rudder: 100% 30% (-30%; both UP and DWN for CH4) >> Read from controller first, modified it and wrote back to controller and saved to file on PC (I didn't use the phone app version). If buying more batteries, I suggest the 2S 600mAh ones they sell as they fit well and flight time seems to be (pilot dependent) about 8-10 mins. I really, really wish this TX had a "Throttle Cut" feature - It needs it!

I've known about radio link for quite a while. As soon as I saw this one. I knew I wanted to try it. But I also knew I was going to buy the PNP version. In order to set it up to my Futaba Transmitter. Which made my first experience with the A560 great. I had dual rates, Expo, throttle kill and all six flight modes right from the beginning. Dialed it in, the first time I took it out to the field. I've been having a great time with it ever since. I even bought a couple more of the BYME-A flight controllers. And set them up to a few other foamies, I had sitting around. One of my favorite setups is my BYP YAK from E-flite an older bi-wing plane I've own forever. Now it has six flight modes and the two vertical modes makes it prop hang like a champ. Don't get me wrong my Spectrum receivers with safe mode are way more stable and reliable. But the Radio Link BYME-A are cheap, small, easy to set up and fun to play with I can make almost anything hover!

Yep, the tiny little RTF TX is just too small. RadioLink just sent us another plane to review and this time I asked them to send one of their full sized TX's with it, so they sent a PNP and a TX. We'll see how this one goes.

Adam, I always appreciate your honest review of a plane. This is a neat plane for sure, but I agree, this is NOT a first time pilot plane.. That would end in disaster and disappointment. Your suggestions to RadioLink were spot on.. I hope they take some of this technology and build a true trainer for the beginner pilot I think it would sell very well.

Thanks Will. It has it's upsides. They have a nice second plane, but yes sir, this is not for a first time, no experience at all beginner that wants to actually learn to fly.

This RTF foamie is 100% worth it. I agree it is not for a beginner, but if you have a little experience behind you, you’ll have a load of fun with this.

I agree with a larger TX and some time spent setting it up it could be fun for an experienced 3D pilot. However, having flown some of all the profile 3D foamies out there ...for the same price the Eratix, anything from Twisted Hobby's, anything from GTA innovations, Multiplex, and several others will fly MUCH better. There's a reason really good 3D pilots don't fly a A560, but you see them flying the others all the time. So the A560 being 100% worth the price ...respectfully I disagree.

My son and I put out a review on this plane a few weeks back, and found very similar results! We did a bit of a torture test as well...😂 Not for new pilots, but it was still a blast passing it around with friends and crashing it into trees! We did end up making it more flyable via the RadioLink app by adding A LOT of expo, as well as dialing back the gyro a bit. Great thorough review! 👍👍

Thanks very much! Yeah, could be a tough experience for a new pilot. Good to take the rough days in stride though!

I own two of these beasts.. Definitely put some flight time into this jem.. Also try a 3s.. Thing is a whole different beast.. Props will pop off if doing tight full throttle maneuvers (as you've witnessed).. Yet with expo added as well as easing into the throttle rather the jamming on it quick. The props should hold up just fine.. Full speed death wobbles maybe had as well. If that's the case. Move up (in) a hole on the aileron wings. Also adjust the elevator so the craft pitches down (about 2mm) via the push rod.. Plane itself likes to climb naturally otherwise.. If within the app turn the battery warning (double beeps on transmitter) down to around 3.3~3.5V.. Ive also been running 1000MaH 2S battery's in this as well with a respectful 15~20mins of flight time. Use some of that tape on the inner & outer (topside) of the crevices of the wing, elevator & rudder. As a few tight maneuvers caused ripping of the foam.. Sense taping I have not had any further issue's. If anything I can now hold those tight maneuvers even longer now without worry. Been waiting for yea to review this little thing.. Its really been my go to plane for a quick rip.. You'll learn to love it.. Hopefully you'll do a follow up vid on this thing.. Love to witness what maneuvers you'll push with your skill set.. ✌️ Ps~ this was actually my first plane.. Agreed it's not for the legit beginner. Few hours of sim training should bold well for newbies as well when in real flight "stability" mode should definitely be used for the first few runs.. The "vertical" mode is a blast as well (good way to catch land & take off)..

I'm glad you've managed to have a good experience with them. To be honest it is a neat plane and I respect the attempt by RL, so it is something I wish I could have put more time into before we reviewed it, but it isn't a plane I'll put much time in after. It is actually heavy for its size. I have a couple of 32/33 in Twisted Hobby's planes that are only about an once heavier, so a WAY lighter wing loading. Even my Eratix...which is heavy for its size, has a lighter wing loading than the A560. All of those fly way better, and due to the normal, modern RX I'm using ...everything as far as set up is right at my fingertips and very easy to adjust. Multiple rates, expo, servo travel, sub trim, reversing, and even gyro adjustments can be made in seconds. That makes a difference. It just requires too much effort to make all the adjustments needed with the A560, and when you're done it still won't fly nearly as well as the planes I mentioned. I would advise trying a more traditional 3D profile plane with a modern TX/RX. The Eratix (easy to assemble), or anything from Twisted Hobby's in the 32/33 inch mono plane category will clearly show you what RadioLink needs to do to catch up in that genre. If you enjoy the A560 the best planes in the category will absolutely amaze you. Bare in mind I'm not knocking RadioLink. I'm just being honest as a guy that has pretty much flown them all in this genre. I'm pulling for them and they seem to be a dedicated team, so hopefully they will take my criticisms as constructive and change the things necessary to bring them equal to the planes they have to compete with. They have work to do to get there. Right now the A560 is "Ok" at best as a 3D profile plane. There is a reason you don't see tons of videos of them really getting ringed out by great 3D pilots ...because great 3D plots fly something else. Pilots that really aren't good at 3D but want to kind of appear to be fly the A560. That is what it is good for really. As we both agree, as a trainer for a brand new pilot...there are many planes out there way better for that job. It really will come down to who RadioLink wants to sell these to. In my opinion, Beginners and good 3D pilots won't be interested as it is now.

I think I saw Black Friday is $135 for a PNP. Put that together with a $20 receiver and use your existing transmitter it might make a pretty good park flyer or even an indoor flyer at .6 pounds

Awesome review, Adam. I've had a radiolink 12 channel radio for over 2 years, and it's been great. Love the products, for enexpnsive fun that pretty solid I always give them a referral, never have I had an issue with them. Now this little sucker was a little high in price at the time because it was only available with the radio which I did not need, but it looks like they might have a PNP available which is nice and I might grab it for teaching myself more Acro on the sticks instead of on the Sim!. 👍👍
@ModelAV8RChannel
@ModelAV8RChannel 8 месяцев назад
Thanks Anthony! Yeah man at the PnP price with a bigger, better RX you already have that is a good deal. It will do the job for a while, and if you really like acro/3D then you can move up to a better plane like an Eratix or Twisted Hobby's Crack Yak or Laser ...which are bigger, smoother, and more capable than the A560.

Great review adam. I was just looking at this plane and the eratix 2 days ago. Im no 3d guy but it looks fun. Can a non 3d pilot fly the eratix. I have small places to fly, i thought the eratix would be fun to try.
@ModelAV8RChannel
@ModelAV8RChannel 8 месяцев назад
Thanks man! Funny you should ask that Jay, I flew my Eratix this morning. You'd enjoy it. Easy to assemble and flies awesome. A great 3D trainer for a non 3D pilot. Plus with your normal TX you can make adjustments, set up multiple rates, etc. with the Eratix. The A560 is a great attempt at a do it all airplane, but can't compete performance wise with any of the traditional 3D profile foamys like the Eratix, Twisted Hobby's planes, etc.
