RAF Pilots Steal a German Aircraft ... almost 

Walter Morison was an RAF pilot in WWII. His Wellington bomber had a mid-air collision with another Wellington at night on a raid over Germany. Walter was the only crew member to survive from either aircraft. Taken prison, he escaped and, along with another pilot, Lorne Welch, attempted to steal a German aircraft to fly it to Sweden. But just as they were trying to figure out how to start the aircraft, they were caught by a German sergeant, who thought their escape attempt was hilarious.
