I've only recently started playing thus no maps, but as a long time DnD player, statistically, each of those doors is more and more likely to be a mimic.
I was like the later at first but eventually I was more like "I just chose a door on pure gut instinct and don't worry about it" and sometimes the classic "eenie meenie miney moe".
for those wondering why so few players have done the Hidden Canals of Uznair one, you can only get the maps for it, thief's, from another map portal's loot (specifically from gazelleskin) and can't buy them from the mb, and you have 3 doors to choose from instead of 2. on the bright side every thief's map spawns a portal.
To this day, I still have only two clears of twenty for my Thief portals. My other door dungeons are either at 16 or complete, with roulette dungeons being... idr? *shrugs* Thief dungeons are terrible, and you have a better chance at Cassie's earring in Pagos - I swear.
@@MissLilianae It is the price of being superior. Our lesser kin cannot fathom how we operate, thus we are considered weird. However, being generous gods, that is fine. They will learn. They will join us eventually.
Great video, as always! -- Now for the maths, I have an addition to make to your conclusions. The ejection rate did not drop significantly, if you consider each door to entail an independent roll of the dice. It only looks like it because the number of attempts is much lower for the later rooms. If we compute the individual extraction rates, we seem to gravitate around a similar chance of being ejected at each door: 1. 25 / 98 ≈ 25.5% 2. 19 / (98 - 25) = 19 / 73 ≈ 26.0% 3. 16 / (73 - 19) = 16 / 54 ≈ 29.6% 4. 9 / (54 - 16) = 9 / 38 ≈ 23.7% 5. 9 / (38 - 9) = 9 / 29 ≈ 31.0% 6. 6 / (29 - 9) = 6 / 20 = 30% Compounding these failure ratios with their number of respective occurrences, we reach an average failure ratio per door of: [25*(25/98) + 19*(19/73) + ... + 6*(6/20)] / (98 - 14) ≈ 27.13% Given the small sample size, I will speculate and say that the actual failure rate is 25%, i.e. the success rate is 75%. That would make intuitive sense, given that there are 4 outcomes for opening a door and 3 of them are successful. Considering this, the total success rate per map becomes (75%)^6 ≈ 17.80%, which is close enough to the ≈15% rate you actually got. Thanks for reading my rambling. Maths guy out!
@@Naexus01 that's fine but the "there are three success and one fail" results on the doors is just coincidence and all the math he used is still solid independent of that. Or maybe they intentionally added three different "success" animations and they're each tied to ranges on the pre-rolled rng and it's technically not a coincidence at all.
I ran in a weekly static for Canals of Uznair for a solid 7 months. We got 3 clears in the deepest room. I wish you the best and I'll be watching your achievement numbers to compare them to my own and increase my e-peen.
We now have three things in common : - obsession for achievements points - blue mage is only for Triple Triad (and achievements, ofc) - WHISKY IN COFFEE
uh, that all would make you blue mage player, therefore, you are weird. considering that two achievements include synced savage raiding with full BLU. oh yeah and EVENTS. like constantly running Aurum Pain dungeon.
I love how you mention someone being a 'failure' while showing your character dressed in a WHM costume next to chilbro's grave. That's fekkin' savage. A+
My partner spent most of the last year working on this achievement. They did a map run every single week with a few breaks with anywhere between 2-4 people from their FC. I can confirm - having watched them scream in despair at a sixth-floor boot, have multiple weeks where one or two portals spawned and they got kicked out on the first or second floor, despite opening like 10 maps between them, and finally seeing them get the achievement at like 4am our local time, after that year of work, where they whooped so loud they'd worried they woke the neighbours - this video is COMPLETELY accurate. They are also thinking of doing the level 70 map achievements now. Godspeed.
Best way to have access to the most maps is you and your friends mail maps to each other. Your mail box can hold 20 maps and there are mail boxes all over the world.
You're 100% correct on the BLU leveling, I did it for the cards. I wanted that sweet, sweet, jammy toast mount. (by far the most time I've ever invested in a single mount in any game, I'm looking at you 3 weeks of Cloud Deck Ex pugs).
30 seconds in... Well now! Welcome to the achievement hunting community. We have milk, and cookies, and AANNNGEERRRR...! (Partially kidding on one of those points) Also: I totes laughed when I saw your ending and that the likes were already in to mid 200s. lol SUFFERING! \o/
I've tried...and failed...mostly because I panic, I think (or I need a better loadout of abilities). Out of curiosity, do you go in as a Healer or Tank role?
@@avaricsymphorian I go as healer role, with Mighty Guard and Basic Instinct up. That means a single Pom Cure will be nearly a full heal. But sometimes I still screw up and then there's no saving that. lol
The bosses in the shifting altars are spooky as all hell on blue, the critical moment at 70% when they spawn adds is incredibly dangerous, but yeah you can definitely do it and the 60/70 door dungeons as blue are pretty easy.
This is really interesting, since I also just completed this achievement today, and my stats show the opposite of what yours did: The rejection rate appeared to be higher for the final two rooms than the first four rooms. Mine were showing a 70-75% success rate for rooms 1-4, and right about 50% for rooms 5 and 6. In addition, rooms 3 through 6 all seemed to have around a 20-25% chance to be a rainbow save. All of my runs were done picking the left door exclusively, unless the door was illuminated, in which case I'd pick that one.
Only a gigachad like myself gets two portals within an hour and leads their group to the bottom of the 90's treasure map dungeon. That was a good evening.
I thoroughly enjoyed this video about raiding the deepest room of the aquapolis 20 times. Also mad because maths. Congrats on another entertaining video!
My FC does maps every week for a couple hours. We rotate between the 70, 80, and 90 maps every week. In a year of doing about 20 maps per week, we've only reached the end of a treasure dungeon about 4 times. 🤣
"Secret Disco Party" lol. My friends and I call it "Rainbow Jesus". We also pray to Ramuh in the later Shifting Altars map dungeons. Recently, a FC mate started calling it "Google Coin Flip Jesus" cause she started trusting her choice to, well, Google Coin Flip lol
heyyy, i got you beat, been playing for 7 years though. got a fc mate who hunts cheevos and has even more than i do. keep up the good work though! also enjoyed the video, despite the lalafell avatar. :P also just checked and ive only been to floor 7 once.lol
Necromancer isn't remotely the hardest, Raiding the Hidden canals 20 times (the special lvl 70 thieves' map) is the rarest title, so that's probably the hardest.
@@Henri-email-archive It is, because you need maps from a map dungeon to even enter, and then there's three doors instead of two, meaning you're more likely to fail.
@@Henri-email-archive just because its the rarest doesnt mean its the hardest. any 8 apes that know how to play FFXIV can easily get their 20 clears, if they keep at it for weeks, months, maybe years. theyre never going to lose progress on it, theyll never be told that its impossible. it just takes a ton of time. clearing something like Dragonsong Reprise would likely be the hardest because, on one hand, youre never more than 20 minutes away from victory. you just wiped? the next pull could go perfect for 20 minutes and you win! or youve never even entered the fight? well, it only takes 20 minutes to clear! but thats the trick. you have to be good enough to do it. you have to know exactly what to do, where to go, how to do it. and if you make any mistakes, its back to square one. youre 20 minutes away from victory.
Female Lalafe talking with deepest voice with papaya music on background. Yeah this is just makes Tataru is True Zodiark in Disguise theory more convincing
My party did this for the first time last night not even knowing how hard it is to really go through the Aquapolis. We did it first try... probably never again but it was fun!
lmao good luck getting the luckiest of lords/ladies title. We've been doing maps every sat for years and once i had about 30 hidden maps saved up and we didn't get to the end even a single time, i have about 10 collected atm for the next 'attempt'.
@@CiderSpider What techniques do you use when choosing a door? A /random or just go with the flow? Lately we've taken to chanting this when opening the door ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-biT-3qzJWGQ.html It's worked atleast twice i swear!
I started the Lyhe Ghiah version of this and gave up after one session. The portal being random, the correct dungeon being random, the randomized doors. It was such a massive waste of time.
Fun drinking game. Every time he mentions raiding the deepest room the in aquapolis 20 times, take a shot.....actually, drink a beer....OK maybe sip it.....OK maybe don't make that a drinking game, i dont wanna be responsible for any deaths.
I know this sounds crazy, but i did this achievement with someone who knew the kill order for each room in aquapolis. Apparently is info she and a few people gathered themselves. She was an achievement hunter on Goblin server. Every room, was a garunteed open (lights on the correct door). I couldn't belive it either, till we consistently got to the final floor. Sometimes she couldnt remember the order, but when she called out a kill order, the correct door was always marked.
Two whole likes... you're really asking for the impossible here, but here's one to get you started. No idea where you're gonna get the rest from, godspeed to you :v
Whenever i see deep dives of content, similar to this; i remember that Yoshi P calls this all "casual content;" And what i can deduce from that is- *HE IS A SADISTIC SON OF A BI-*
"you're ready to dominate the entire gym and not return a single plate" 😂 😂 😂 😂 too real, every time u trip on one of those cause lazy gymbros leave them around
what emote is the pose at 4:00 ? great video. Also it is true that you can solo as BLU pretty easy, though I have raided the Aquapolis many times and never gotten even once to the 7th room :(
From my FCs regular map runs, I have noted that getting any bonus on the 3rd stage always gets us ejected. I do not mean the Gamblers chest but the loot mobs that spawn. I think its because it will spawn 2 groups of them at once and so the game says you have enough GET OUT!!!
