I've made a few different end attachments. I used it for cleaning dirt out of sidewalk cracks and cleaned a fence that needed to be repainted. It's not as powerful as a pressure washer, but it does a decent job.

This is a great idea for the intended purpose, and both less expensive than the commercially available cleaners and able to reach far higher. My intention was to try to flush out my downspouts without having to climb to a two and three story roof. I made two variations to your design to better suit my purposes. I substituted a 90 angle instead of your 45 because I intended to reach higher that you did, and I added a straight hose nozzle instead of your pvc one. It works rather well for me. One observation that you alluded to: I was unable to reach my three--story roof from the ground. I used 5' lengths of pipe with adadpters, and even with that the pipe became too unwieldy beyond two stories to reach the gutter. Thanks for the idea! Lots cheaper than the commercial devices and MUCH cheaper than hiring someone to do it.

You are welcome and thank you for sharing your experience. I have found several other uses for mine. I used just a short section with one hole for a "pressure washer" to clean a fence that needed to be painted. It also removed any old loose paint. I also used it to clean out the cracks in my side walks before sealing them.

Very well explained. I'd like to build my own because I can't seem to find a commercial one that gets good ratings. It seems like it should be a really simple thing to manufacture (or have prebuilt into gutters... Maybe that's what we should try to build instead...)

What size sre the holes you drilled in the he end cap? And how many holes? It looks like 3. Thanks for the help, great video!

They make a pvc water hose adapter, no use to buy two different brass connections.

Although this is old I learned from that mistake the pressure at my outside faucets are above 120 PSI that PVC garden hose adapter thing blew apart the first time I turned on my water. It may be okay for people with normal water pressure but if you're like me and have pressure above 80 psi the metal garden hose swivel adapter is your best bet..

There is a proper tool/method for cleaning rain gutters. Its the GUTTER CLUTTER BUSTER. The tool connects to ANY 2.5" wet/dry vacuum and all the debris goes straight into your vacuum. Extensions are available for 2 and 3 story homes and buildings. This method saves you from wasting any water or getting wet, and the debris is collected for you. Other methods require raking leaves from the ground afterwards

Thanks for the suggestion, Christian. That tool may be helpful to some viewers who get a lot of leaves in their gutters. I don't tend to get a lot of leaves in my gutters, so a light cleaning works for me.
