I wonder what a Cessna looks like splattered all over those rocks? What did you do to his plane you freak? Notcher made me do it. He made me loosen his oil pressure cap.
I searched for the last 20 years for this song. Long before the internet or utube, I called radio stations, I checked record stores, even yard sales and I never found it. When the internet became popular I would search every couple years...nothing. I just recently tried again and screamed out loud when I found it. You can not understand the joy I felt from finding this song. A life's quest fullfilled! I Have listened to it about 1500 times in a row! Judging from the comments, it looks like there was many other people who shared my passion. It really was too bad it didn't make it to the soundtrack, who knows what that might have done for their music career. Thank you so much for putting it in the movie and for putting it up here for all to enjoy! Julius
I can relate! Same story here! I was looking everywhere, nobody knew her in record stores back in late 80s. Strange, such a nice voice not to make a career!
I was playing some World of Warplanes and playing this during a ground attack mission. I didn't expect to see a comment from you on here. Hope you and Rachael are doing good. See you on The Ridge. :)
Interesting commentary here. As a retired USAF F-16 fighter pilot and the father of a son who was crazy about this movie and this particular song when he was a teenager, it is somewhat ironic that I live on a little airpark north of Los Angeles where several of the scenes from the cessna vs motorcycle race were filmed. Last time my son was here and visited we drove around the taxiway and runway to see where they filmed and then went and watched the movie again....... thanks for letting me know that Rainey has a website...I will buy her CD also......never understood why her song did not make the soundtrack......it ROCKS!!!!!! Maybe Queen was afraid her song would do better than theirs.... (:-)
@Francis Zeller The movie writer/creator is in the comments thread (as Invitation Entertainment) and said TriStar wouldn't approve its inclusion on the OST. A truly bonehead move! It was in the movie and it was successful, so what could be the rationale? IDK...
I'm Navy, Top GUn and Iron Eagle were my childhood, and I'm still crazy for both movies, flaws and all - they have the core American story that today's movies lack.
Played this last sunday whilst watching a couple of casnas performing stunt flying at bradwell and it was AWESOME. the tune went perfectly with the display. Fantastic track from a brilliant film.
I thought that’s what a movie soundtrack is. The songs from the movie. How could they leave a song out? It’s one of the better ones aswell Silly! Defeats the purpose of the soundtrack
"Rough landing, Fly Baby? Hehehe! It was just a joke, man!" "It's pretty funny... you could've killed me." "What?" "I said, YOU COULD'VE KILLED ME!" "I couldn't hear you." *POW!* "Can you hear me, now?"
i will, born in the fucking 70's baby, and still living the life of the 70's ,80's ,90's ,watching this new generation of idiots that don't know shit from shinola
This song was legitimately my "holy grail" growing up, trying to find it anywhere since it wasn't on the soundtrack. It's the only miracle the internet ever produced for me.
In my college days I was in Air Force ROTC. In my second year I gave the welcome speech to the new class. As I noticed many of them taking notes I made sure to inform them that the password to the Falcon maintenance file was BR4. They were thrilled to collect such useful data.
You know a bunch of old guys who work for Cessna were in the audience when "Iron Eagle" first unreeled; when Doug crossed that finish line, they were all "Hell YEAH!!"
This song is on my flying playlist. I listen to it in my headset. I don’t do anything crazy but I feel the urge to fly the snake…too bad there aren’t any mountain cliffs in south eastern Georgia.
perfeitoan I looked for this song for a long time as well its a GREAT SONG! compare it to any of the noise they play today on the airwaves, it DESTROYS everything!
@@doomguy2337 that’s what happened to the Branson kid alright.. he didn’t know that either. Sure couldn’t tell him after they peeled him off that cliff
I always laughed at the scene, as I’m the Cessna, the pilot controls his mixture in the cockpit. Chappie couldn’t do anything through the oil fill door.
Reggie: Why don't you just land on the fool and get it over with? Doug Masters: What's the matter, don't you feel like flying today? Reggie: Oh flying yes, dying, no.
My brother and I just just introduced my daughters to this movie tonight. Your comment is the funniest thing I have seen on you tube in the last 7 years. Tip of the hat, lol!
This is a jamming song from a movie that I loved so damn much as a kid in the 80s, and now as an adult with much broader taste and experience in music, I can truly appreciate how great the soundtrack for this movie is.
Old enough to Rock and Roll Rainey Haynes I used to dream about how it would be When I would be older, when I'd really be free When no one would tell me how to live my life How to waste my days, how to spend my nights (my nights!) But I finally decided, yes, I finally decided I'm finding out the hard way Exactly what I want to say, I want to say I'm old enough to rock and roll, I'm old enough I'm old enough to rock and roll, I'm old enough To rock and roll, gonna rock, gonna rock Gonna rock! They tell me I'm young and i don't know What's the right thing to do, the right way to go They're so afraid I'm gonna let them down I'm gonna mess things up when I mess around But I finally decided, I finally decided It's my responsibility, I don't need nobody, don't need no one I don't need anyone but me I'm old enough to rock and roll, I'm old enough I'm old enough to rock and roll, I'm old enough To rock and roll Can't you see I'm changing? My smile is rearranging I'm taking full control You can't ignore me anymore And now I believe I have finally arrived, I'm young and alive, I'm in my prime No one can stop me cause I'm on my way Gonna do what I do, gonna have my say I'm old enough to rock and roll, I'm old enough I'm old enough to rock and roll, I'm old enough! Now I believe I have finally arrived, I'm young and alive, I'm feeling fine! No one can stop me cause I'm on my way Gonna do what I do, gonna have my say And i finally decided, yes I decided, I finally decided It's my responsibility I don't need anyone but me I'm old enough to rock and roll, I'm old enough! I'm old enough to rock and roll, I'm old enough! I'm old, I'm old, I'm old enough I'm bad enough, I'm strong enough I'm old enough to rock and roll, to rock and roll!
Reading the comments here makes me feel like I’m not alone knowing ALL THE WORDS to this movie. Best movie of all time !!! (Yes, way better than Top Gun)
A great classic track attached to a classic 80's movie we all remembered as young kids if we were there at that time. Another crime that this song wasn't also on the soundtrack.
I was at Eglin when this came out, a little younger, but my dad was a Crew Chief and I spent a lot of time visiting the flight line. Good times. I was a Crew Chief for 20 years too, and I'm sure all the over the top, exaggerated 80s movies played a part in all that. This music still hits a spot and brings back memories, especially twisted sister!
I remember buying the cassette back in the day (from Walmart I think) and being so disappointed to discover the one song I really wanted to have was missing! I'm still upset about it. It's utterly criminal that this song was not included especially since it was so prominently featured during one of the most exciting action sequences in the film.
holy shit, can you see it....the rollin HONDA...omg it was a childhood dream....one of the best scene ever in movie history and THE best kickin´ in SOUNDTRACK...holy it still kicks 40 years later....memories came back. so good! thanks so much!
I didn't know this song existed until I watched Iron Eagle for the first time five years ago, and then I saw Girls Just Want To Have Fun so I know EXACTLY who Rainey Haynes is and what she has contributed to the world!! I LOVE this part in the movie, that flying:)
in the 80' the were no original soundtrack available in Poland so I had to copy all the songs from VHS tape to cassette tape to listen whenever I want. Unforgettable times
God damn that voice. Just makes me wanna twist the throttle on my Harley and hit 120 with the wind in my face. No helmet, no jacket. Just naked rebellion and aggression.
Dammmmnnnn .... Track!! Rainey nailed this one... To think it was stuck under her stairs for 20 years! Great to have it back on sale via her website! Signed too!!
god i love this soundtrack n film... i used to watch this god knows how many times a day as a kid i wore the bloody tape out caus of over watching...lol... great film n great music
@@arealone9506 I'm going to start saying that in meetings when I don't get what I want. The boss: "So it looks like we're going to need that feature a little sooner, can you have it done by Wednesday?" Me: "That's bullshit! I asked for a carrier!" The boss: *confused silence*
This song is also not on Amazon music, or Spotify either. Please support this artist as I plan on buying a lithograph version of the album with this song, and a digital version for my cell phone. Thank you for the awesome music Rainey!!!!
