In this episode of TGS, Billy the Kid brings you quite a show! We test a variety of different shells through a Panzer Arms AR 12 Pro. Plenty of great reactive targets in this one such as, watermelons, water jugs, lettuces, a maniquin full of jello and we even get a couple expanded 1 oz slugs from exploding a cooler full of water! Links in this description are affiliate links but to date I have not made a dime lol so remember you can be the first to help this channel grow.

First thing I did out of the box was take it apart and clean and lube it. My AR-12 Pro has yet to experience any failure to operate. I only run 1300fps or better. I got several hundred rounds of 00 and slugs down range...I shoot Remington 2 3/4 because of the taller brass case; the AR-12 doesn't care for the shorter brass case either. I learned all this before I bought the weapon from having watched video before making a purchase.

These Guns have a Intense Break In period. Like 250 of Heavy Rounds 1300fps or Better. But, You can speed up the break in by leaving the Gun Locked back for at least a Month. Manually working the action over and over to loosen up the spring tension. Cleaning it thoroughly and lubing it up real good before you shoot it. Just a few things there to look out for.

I have followed these for awhile and thanks for being honest .Some posts are gen 3 or 4 sold as a pro and most are common issues like out of box posts . Lack of lube or poor quality . I just bought the new pro to avoid a poly lower for 50 bucks less .Way cheaper than a Saiga & the AR platform is preferred by many

@TGSTheGoodStuff
@TGSTheGoodStuff 4 года назад
It is very possible they fixed some mistakes with the pro in the bull pup design but I hate to give an opinion without some real world testing of my own. Something I will say is I don't know how I feel about magazine reloads with that placement being right behind the grip. I guess it would come down to how much you train with it but it might be awkward feeling and if you're not amazing at AR reloads it may screw up getting those done properly to.

I have the BP12. I ran 50 rounds of 2 3/4 buck through mine and then broke it down and polished the areas that showed wear marks. It will now cycle 1 1/8 oz loads reliably. I did the same with the original AR12 with the same results. Turkish made guns need some polishing, I know this going in. The only AR style shotgun I have bought that has run light loads reliably right out of the box, is the AKDAL MKA 1919 MATCH. If you are just wanting a mag fed shotgun, get a Saiga or VEPR12 and don't look back.

@TGSTheGoodStuff

I suppose anything is possible although amongst my inner circle of gun nuts I rub shoulders with there's a bigger chance of getting a lemon then a peach. My understanding is they manufacture in a hurry and slap it together with little or no finish work on the internals. 300 shells with zero hiccups is awesome, I'd say if you make it to 500 and she keeps it up that would be home defense worthy. Thank you for the compliment, I appreciate the feedback. Music is hard to get that happy place for everyone and even harder to find non copyrighted stuff you're able to post in your videos. My only problem came with the ten round mags fully loaded. the bolt didnt go compleatly into battery.Solved the problem by only 9 rounds in the mag untill the spring tention relaxed a bit.My bolt also has some drag , but havent noticed a problem. All of my mags drop when released. I feel 100% about the reliability of this wepon and would recomend it to anyone looking for a home defence shotgun.

I've run several types of ammo thru mine. It's really hard to track down the FTF's. I also run thru 10 rounds mags as well as the 5 round. RIO #4 Buck 2 3/4" a lot of FTFs, Winchester 3" 00 also, although it performs better from the 5 round mag. What mine really loves, is the Mil Spec 00. Churns thru them like butter for the most part. Probably run close to 2-300 rounds thru it so far. The issue I have now is disassembly. I get the barrel removed, turn the bolt block lever vertical, and the bolt assembly just will not come out. It seems to catch the tiniest bit on the block. Will most likely have to take to a gun smith to get it corrected.

Thanks for the feed back. So I wet the one I had down several times with Lucas extreme gun oil and put a couple hundred shells through it. When I brought it back to my sponsor he tore it down and told me they're were heavy tooling marks in the chamber and something metal hung in the ejector. I believe this is one of those classic cases of getting what you pay for. I'll be reviewing an Armscor VR80 tactical shotgun here in the near future that cost about $200 more and from what I hear it runs much better. It has 2 different gas rings for 2 3/4 and 3" and I'm thinking that's some of the trouble this one had was with the gas system. Honestly from what I could tell having the Panzer in my hands they just rush manufacturing and slap em together with little care as to how it turns out and that reflects the price.

I don't blame you for not wanting to spend anymore which is why I suggest letting Panzer deal with it or alternatively if your comfortable you can try polishing out the tool marks in the chamber yourself using a dremel with wire wheels and polishing pads or some .0000 steel wool fixed onto a wooden dowel rod in a drill.

yes i noticed that too, I've shot about 25 Federal 1600 FPS slugs through it already and they seem to run well. Ammunition is pretty scarce so you can't be too choosy. I'll continue to use those 1600 fps slugs because that's about all I can find right now... let me know what you've been using

Thank you for the feedback, I will always be honest in all of my content for 3 reasons. #1 if you lie to the viewers and they in turn make purchases based on what you're telling them and find out opposite they will not continue to follow you. #2 I'm not paid to say anything the only way I'm gonna make something is if a viewer uses one of my affiliated links which is stuff I use and like or I've researched to the point I would buy it without hesitation. #3 On a personal level I've always prided myself on honesty and have had to learn communicating in a more receptive way because at times it comes as blunt or crass, never meaning to I've just always liked to call it like I see it! Thanks again.

I’m between this and the VR80

I had the same two shotguns in mind. Went with the Panzer because it comes with two magazines instead of one, and because it has rail on the bottom which allows you to put a vertical foregrip on it. The vr80 has no rail on the bottom. Finally, Panzer comes with three choke tubes, vr80 does not have replaceable choke tube.

@@bugmanmd1576 Panzer comes with three choke tubes? Gen 3 has this feature? I was told only gen 1 had replaceable chokes.

@@misar7 yup. mine bought 10 / 20/20, comes with a full choke, modified choke, and cylinder choke. Like I said, this is one of the three features that I think beats out the VR80.

Have you tried breaking it down and polishing the tooling marks out of it? That seems to help alot along with a heavy break in and running it real wet.

It would help if you used the right ammo!!! The gun requires 3” shells. Your making a bad ass gun look really bad!!

Dude flinches on every shot. Wonder why it don't feed right
@Rmartin689

what does his flinching have to do with the gun not feeding?
@TGSTheGoodStuff

If you aren't shouldering the firearm properly it can give you cycling issues. Yeah after a couple hundred shells of 12 Guage on this boney shoulder I flinched here and there but I invite anyone to give it their go lol

The VR80 I reviewed did better but we did some mods to it.

flinching and not shouldering a long gun properly are 2 different things.

@@Rmartin689 I see what your saying. My reply was with the thought that he thought I was flinching in a manner pulling the gun off my shoulder versus flinching on the sights or trigger.

First thing I did out of the box was take it apart and clean and lube it. My AR-12 Pro has yet to experience any failure to operate. I only run 1300fps or better. I got several hundred rounds of 00 and slugs down range...I shoot Remington because of the taller brass case; the AR-12 doesn't care for the shorter brass case either. I learned all this before I bought the weapon from having watched video before making a purchase.
@TGSTheGoodStuff
@TGSTheGoodStuff 4 года назад
I must say with the one I reviewed it liked the shorter brass for whatever reason that sportsmen select it's shorter brass and did good.
