I have an honest question. I own a mobile sales buisness, I called the state I live in and got the answer I was expecting. I am not able to sell firearms from the truck I have to do it at the physical location of my address. How does it work to sell at a gun show if you are not selling at the location of your shop?

My honest answer is... I don't know bud 😅 it might be because most state's have laws stating that you have certain precautions for securing your facility and firearms like bars over windows, locking boxes etc... But I couldn't definitively say for sure... Sorry :/

@TGS [The Good Stuff] that's ok I really just don't see the distinction but that's the law I guess does not always have to make sense or ever rarely for that matter

Hey I'm thinking of going to a gun show in arizona to get a 1911 and a 9mm the problem is that I'm 18 in the state of arizona I'm allowed to buy a pistol from a private seller but not from a ffl,what documents would I need?my id and dl ?

I thought the loophole is buying from a non-licensed person as a personal sale which no background check is used? Which is legal.

An FFL is not legally able to do so. Every firearm is cataloged and because of there licence their license owns the firearms and therefore all firearms sold must have your 4473 form and background check. If you fail to keep accurate records when audited periodically you'll loose your license which isn't cheap and is the livelyhood of the mom and pop gun shop. At this particular gun show, one firearm was stolen and all firearms had to be accounted for the moment it was realized. Also I will say you will from time to time see a private individual with a firearm on them and a forsale. Is that breaking the law? No. Depending on the establishment hosting they may not like that and ask them to leave. I was asked to take my camera on a tripod recording time lapse down because it was making people uncomfortable.

@@TGSTheGoodStuff I am an FFL holder, but still new. I had just never heard of illegal firearm sales through licensed dealers. Only that private sellers being allowed at the events and that being the loophole. I havent seen the restrictions of who allows who to sell at the venue.

@@paridox83 The real issue is the non licensed "personal seller" who goes to every gun show with 75+ firearms and is clearly conducting a profitable business selling firearms. They have the advantage of offering non form 4473 sales to buyers, and a lot don't charge sales tax, because they claim their not a "business".

The gun show loophole is “Private gun sales don’t require a background check, whereas purchases from a licensed dealer do. That dichotomy is on display twice a year at the Tulsa Arms Show, which calls itself the largest gun show in the world.” One individual said a FFL is at the center of the theory of a gun show loophole. I do not agree with that statement!!!

No that's not what the supposed loop hole is they are saying that a private citizen can go sale his guns at a show in which said person can do a private sale to said criminal without a background check

See the way I've always seen it portrayed is the government is concerned a criminal will make a connection with a dealer to buy all the guns they may need from a dealer but in a private setting unchecked. An FFL must run a check for every sale by law period. A private citizen is well with in their right to sell a gun privately and if they go to a gun show to make finding a buyer easier I don't see how that would be labeled as a "loophole" as they aren't bypassing any system. That's just the way I've seen politicians explain their way they thinking it goes down but I see your point as well.

The "gunshow loophole" is basically a name for private sales of firearms between two individuals. It does not involve dealers. It's a BS excuse cuz they will get a gun either way, through a straw purchase or otherwise.
