Im with Stevie , id rather have 1or 2 starters than 4 squad players. A couple of big days ahead with the ending of the transfer window and the Europa league draw tomorrow
If we get a starting LCB to partner Propper regularly, and a 10 I will be delighted anything else is gravy. I wanted Tav out but I will stomach it for one more if we can get Wright out this window. Though if both went, even better. I know no one is saying anything yet, but I still think Butland will go. I really hope he .
I just read one of Cantwells youth coaches saying that he had god given talent and a players like that shouldn't have to be changed or conform. That's the source of Cantwells trouble. He is talented but has been hyped and fed that he shouldn't have to change or conform, but more talented players than him have had to follow the managers game plan and work hard to improve weaknesses. Until Cantwell shakes the self image those who trained him as a youth fed him, he will never hit the heights he should in the game. Also touching on his fear of opposition at youth level, that's provably we he has built up this persona, and makes the big claims to try and shield mentally and cope. He is doing the wrong thing running away from the challenge here. No matter where he goes his issues will follow him until he fronts up, listens to the managers or coaches and gets mentally stronger. Boasting online is not the way. If he was to fully focus and start listening and doing as asked and got out of this not having to conform because he is special way of thinking he truly could be a special player ironically. As someone who has faced a lot of challenges as we all do, I can't respect a man that shirks and runs away from issues.
Dessers finishing isnt any worse than Morelos' was. Morelos missed more sitters than i can remember. At least Dessers doesnt throw the toys out every 6 months, and looks to be a good guy in the dressing room.
Dessers shot to gaol ratio is good. In the SPFL last season Dessers conversion rate was higher than Miovski’s and on par with Kyogo. The only person who was higher was Shankland by 4% points and that is only because he gets to take penalties.
@@BillyMcMorranshut up ya fud shankland wasn't on penalties last season he was taking off them ya fud so nice try. And how many of dessers goals came in big games when it mattered oh aye answer us 0 shankland would have won us the league last season so keep trying. Dessers is utter pish
Stevie looks about excited as a heroin addict who lost 10 bags. We need stevie to be excited so we can be excited. Matondo needs to go not consistent enough and a wage drainer.
He thinks hes a superstar. He's not. He's never delivered in the big games. And now he's taken a huff. Norwich fans TRIED to warn us when we bought him, they knew he was like this.
Anyone that read into big Phil’s comments regarding bringing in more is simply that. How the f would he know how many are going to be able to predict how many he can bring in. He also said I would never say how many because if it’s less the media would get into him for it. Everyone needs to calm down
Agreed but they had 5-7 years to tinker with recruitment and playing youngsters with no challenge, and they found the right way through trail and error
Plus clubs buy players playing well they have a winning team because the dross they have faced over the last 10 years, we must put a spanner in the works and try to match them once that happens their fans will not be able to take it they have had it to good for to long !
@@misterx9364 Rangers did match them when they won 55. Celtic rebounded strongly and are now dominating Scottish football on and off the pitch again. Rangers have went backwards and are a shambles. They are years, and terns of millions, ahead of us. Celtic are buying players for £11m while Rangers go around Europe cap in hand asking for loans and the promise to pay them next year.
In what world is adam idah for 10m pounds a good signing? The jefte and barron signings alone are levels above that signing just based on value to performance and potential. Koppen is a much better operator than who celtic have
Is stevie serious, 3 injury prone defenders would not make us solid. Souttar is never far from iniury, Balogun as well with age. Jeez. We never learn. I know Stevie was soft teasing some fans here, but most of us who point out injury issues with signings can see online players injury histories and the ones we highlight are things like cruciate, and knee injuries. Not sniffels. That was a little disingenuous. BTW Bajrami has 2 goals and 2 assists last season. I am concerned he isn't even an upgrade on Lawrence, never mind Cantwell or Hagi. If he signs I will back him and give him a chance but I can't find a single season, where his stats for goals and assists are decent.
Agents will be aware of the Cantwell transfer fee. If he was worth more then other clubs would show interest and start a bidding war of sorts……but nobody else is looking to touch him!
Rangers are asking teams to loan them players. Players that are worth millions, are valuable assets, and are doing a job for their current teams. Rangers are basically going around cap in hand hoping there is a team out there stupid enough to give us a player on a deferred payment until next summer. When next summer hits and we need to pay all these fees we end up with an entirely new problem - Our future revenues have been sold.
@@jmcc2k10 No, this is what the club need to do because they have no money to spend. If Rangers had money to spend, then they would spend it on players. They can’t, because they have no money. Rangers aren’t Man City, mate. Rangers aren’t being hamstrung by their inability to go out and spend on players due to FFFP rules. Come on 😂
@@BillyMcMorran if we didn't have money to spend we wouldn't have it next year either. We can only spend so much compared to our income it's why clubs defer payments, as like you said it would be a huge bill to pay the following year.
@@jmcc2k10 Why would Rangers want to defer payments? Rangers have already allocated £4m of NEXT summers transfer kitty to signing Cortez. Rangers then tried to get Kalky on a similar loan deal with option to buy for €7m NEXT summer. So Rangers are willing to borrow as much as £10m based on future income. Rangers borrowed on future incomes before. We sold of future income of season ticket moneys to tickets. We sold off any profits from the food stalls for an instant cash injection. Rangers are being grossly mismanaged and are heading towards a fanciful disaster. We will end up entering a summer window with no money to spent at all, because it was all spent the previous year.
@@jmcc2k10 Next year we will have season ticket revenue as always. What we never had before was “obligations to buy” - This is new. If a club abuses the loan with obligation to buy enough they will create a situation whereby they checkmate themselves. A summer will come after a failed season, players will be needed, but there is no money because the club are obligated to buy the failing team they currently have. This could easily end up on disaster, and the club will be on the edge financially. Alarm bells are ringing. There should be no obligations to buy at all. Next summers money should be reserved for then. We might even have a new manager then. He might need money. We can’t spend everything now and end up with nothing for 2 years!
I agree with the cantwell thing! The lad wants away. Get him out asap and move on. He will be remembered as a flop though. A player with some fight is who we need. Not someone who runs away in a huff at the first turn. Bye bye awe the best pal! 👍
Decent players aye good one don't talk pish jota was consistent at celtic which is why they sold him for big Bucks. So stop making excuses to hold onto garbage
Either Clement misspoke and he meant there would be more outgoing than incomings. Or he was trying to put pressure on the board to deliver. Either way window closes tomorrow and we need to get 4 players in the door if Cantwell and Wright do indeed depart after Davies for that quote to not come back and haunt him.
Trying to cut the wage budget is prudent but you can't then ask players from warm/hot countries to come to Scotland and play in our weather for the same or less money than somewhere decent in Europe. GET IN SOME GOOD SCOTTISH BOYS FFS, THAT'S THE REBUILD WE NEED IN THE SHORT TERM!
Rangers fans are far too fickle, one good game and people think rabbi is the answer, There's 2 years worth of history to say he is not the answer. At least Stevie has a bit of sense about these things and doesn't change his opinion on a game by game basis.
I can see us signing Williams, to cover Ridvan at left back, then if Matondo goes off the boil Jefte can play LW. If Matondo can stay sharp and fit, ideally then we may be able to sell for a profit in January and the story of our payer trading model starts to look better.
We used to shop in Waitrose now we’re shopping in cost cutters Christ what has happened to our club the mismanagement of our club is shocking it’s the worst I’ve seen in my 50 years of supporting Rangers
I don’t understand clement he tried to sign a CB & CM has lost out on these players and now it’s just whoever we can get back to square pegs and round holes
I think we are hedging our bets on picking up players on loan at the end of the market. Teams want to sell but similar to us, some players are unsellable due to FFP etc. This is when loans becomes a good option for the selling club I'd take 2-3 loans. CB, Winger, 10 and a 6 are needed though.
FFFP doesn’t make anyone unaffordable. Rangers just can’t afford a player, so they are scraping the loan market. No need to dress it up as something it isn’t. Rangers would love to be buying players right now but they sim0y can’t do it.
My point was in relation to the selling clubs and their need for money. They need to sell permanently, as we do, in order to find purchases. FFP has ensured a one in, one out model across clubs who are signing players of a similar stature. Therefore all clubs will prefer a permanent sale rather than a loan. Loans will be rife tomorrow across the football world. This will be the desperation of clubs to improve squads with minimal financial commitments and likely breaches of FFP due to lack of selling.
@@jonathanhughes5876 Rangers don’t have a one in, one out, model. Clement did say that, but then completely contradicted himself and said more will be coming in than leaving. He said players would be “fitter and more” robust too yet the injuries keep on coming. The referees to blame for going out of Europe. Clement always has an excuse at hand. He blamed last seasons failures on a poor pre-season under Beale, but his preseason has been one of the worst in living memory. This Rangers team is nowhere near ready to go.
Whoever is doing the transfer negotiations the now needs the sack must be about 20 players knocked us back. Some of them have ended up in the ass end of nowhere as well.
We're on Thursday and it's all quiet. We have absolutely no money and they are spending it and raking it in. Possibly £20 million spends on two players. Their board are investing when it matters most. We are level on trophies and I can see them taking over us sizeable over the next few years. I also think it's scandalous if the figures being quoted for cantwell are true. Other clubs have us over a barrell its scary and embarrassing
Since clement has arrived so many of our players values have dropped to the point we are struggling to get rid of any . How much would lammers have been worth if he hadnt been loaned out ?
@@BillyMcMorran Hes going nowhere, not after signing that extension our dumbass board gave him, but yeah going 5pts behind already wouldn't be a good look for him.
@@BillyMcMorran No, even brilliant Rangers teams of the past have had difficult times at their place plus we've just moved on and brought in quite a few players, we're in a rebuild phase. To pay off a manager AGAIN to bring in someone new to deal with 4 previous managers signings is idiotic. Someone needs time and we've already put eggs in the basket with Clement. Board will have to ignore the people who fail to understand this and power on through. Arteta and Gerrard are two recent examples that things can take time. Let the season play out and I feel questions are more reasonable then, for now, I think anyone wanting or pushing for to move on Clement are not taking our situation into consideration and will do more harm than good.
@@BillyMcMorranIf we get beat and I don't want to think that way, but if we do he will get time as long as we challenged we'll and things look like they are shaping up under him. We also have new players in, so it's improtant to not be totally knee jerk. However there is an outlier for me for Clements time being smashed. If Celtic give us an absolute doing then there will be no patience. Fans will come at the board and manager like a blue Tsunami of pure anger. It's a huge game and week for us. I hope and pray it ends well and we get the win, or at least shoots of recovery and something to buy into in how we played.
@@J.D_7If we take an absolute pummeling like a 5 or 6 nil. It could well be over for him. Outside of that, I reasonably just expect some style of play and more battle and effort to where we challenge well and put Celtic under real pressure. I want to see the fruits of Clements conditioning of our players. If they win, I don't want it to be an easy win. If we get something out on the park play wise to believe in, I will stay with Clement as a fan through rebuilding and considering the new players in, if we get anymore in that is. As long as we don't get totally smashed, and there is evidence of what the style is and what we are aiming for and we can all generally see potential building then we should at least stick with it, until next summer. No more mid campaign sacking of managers. The summer is the time to do it, if it isn't bearing fruit or looking like much.
Looks like Clifford has bought the garbage that we should be grateful that we’re cutting wages. What trophy do you get for that? The current owners of the club are out their depth and penniless, great you’ve cut the wage bill so now we can compete for a Europa Conference play off. Well done. I recall when fan media (🤢) were actually outside the tent and being critical of utter incompetence now they’re in the pockets of the custodians.
Once you are inside the tent you do not want to be thrown out of it so you become placid in your reporting It's only natural human behaviour Not saying it is right by the way That's why I like cj novo podcasts
All this transfer BS is a smokescreen for the failure of the manager to be able to utilise and get the best from the players that are available. Rotation and playing players out of position for half a game doesn't breed winning consistency. The acid test comes on Sunday. More of the same won't cut it.
Half a game? Clement has been playing players out of position for Almost a year. Rangers backed Beale to build a squad that cost £20m. Beale assembled a squad to play a 4-3-3 narrow. Clement can only ever play a 4-2-3-1 wide and has no plan B. We do not have the players to accommodate Clement. It would be cheaper to appoint a new manager, than to buy a new squad. We need a manger who can work with this group of players. Get Cantwell and Hagi back in to the fold. Get Lowry in. We need to make the best of what we have. Clement is a blame shifter Warburton 2.0
We dont want him m8, its not happening. Have you seen the shape of him? Hes about 2 stone overweight and hasnt scored a goal in 5 matches. Clement has zero interest in him
We are not skint robbing fans out of tickets, kits, fan zone and making profit in revenue and you think we are skint aye good one we are 2nd richest club in the country we are not skint no matter how much the board want to lie
It's always been the same who ever wins the league people go in for there duds as they see it that there good they just can't get into starting 11. It's always happened win the league wede be in a better position getting rid of dead wood. So we need the league
I am skeptical with 2 goals and 2 assist last season. I would look elsewhere right now. I would rather go for Niko Jankovic as a 10. If he signs though he will be welcomed and given a chance.
Need to remember hes playing for a relegation side who had an awful season, its hard to get numbers in those situations. Hes had previous seasons where he had stronger numbers. I've watched a few videos on him, looks fast, strong, agile, decent passing with a great long shot on him. I think he'll be alright here. We have lawernce at 10 right now who can barely walk nevermind run so he'll be an upgrade on him at least
@yogaflame7884 Which season is that, I can't find it online? Hopefully he is good but I would rather try and sign someone like Niko Jankovic. Go and look at him and his stats at Rijeka. If Bejrami signs I will welcome the lad and give him a go. At this moment in time though I wouldn't sign him if him based on his stats.
