Differing opinions aside, One of the funniest bits of trivia about Alien X was that the universe was once destroyed in Omniverse and he recreated the whole thing from scratch, albeit it's notably not a perfect recreation as Ben now has a new white jacket and the Mr. Smoothie mascot looks significantly different from before, this also gets him in legal trouble with the others of its species, and during the trial, his lawyer poses an idea of an in-universe explanation for any plothole or questionable design change is just the doing of Alien X's people changing stuff behind the scenes, which I find really funny
That's so dumb, I love it. Kinda like the Sonic comics having some elaborate story arc just to explain why he has different colored eyes or a fancy new pair of shoes.
Not to mention!,Grey matter and Upgrade are different majorly because Upgrade, just slightly improves technology and mechanical objects while still having Ben's original intelligence (ten year old) and Grey matter actively makes Ben not only better at engineering but also just tactics in battle in general
Omniverse isn't the controversial take. Ultimate Alien is. If you tell the Ben 10 fanbase that Ultimate Alien is your favorite. They're going to question your sanity.

You all probably know by now, (but in case you don't) Arctiguana was from the episode where Ben went to the future and met his adult self. Older Ben transformed into it. It was kinda a one-off
Oniverse I gave up but went back to it and actually liked it. It has a good story the animation turned me off at first. But it is one of my favorite versions of Ben.
Explaining Ghostfreak was from a species where their consciousness exists even in their DNA. He wanted the Omnitrix to conquer the universe so he let himself being sampled by possessing Wildvine's DNA sample, then tried to take control of Ben since he wasn't a piece of DNA but an entire person located inside the Omnitrix. Then he couldn't control Ben correctly if Ben timed out so he escaped the watch and attempted to take control of Ben in a different way. He's actually a person trapped inside the watch that escaped, not like the other aliens who were legit DNA samples (I got this off Reddit but I did watch that happened in the show)
I think the main reason to use jetray over big chill is that jetray is way faster than most if not all ben aliens Also omniverse is quite underrated still
As one of the people that commented wanting a Ben 10 quiz, this is a perfectly good alternative. Wildmutt has always been one of my favorites, because he just feels so UNIQUELY alien. Like he's vaguely dog-like, but in general he's just not really like anything else on Earth. Not being able to speak and his unique inferred 'vision' just added to that purely alien vibe. Along with how savagely he fought the few opportunities he got. I think the fact that he rarely ever got those moments to really maul something is why people generally rate him low, which is fair. I understand why Omniverse gets a bad rap, a good few of it's redesigns, both for aliens and just characters in general, can be hit or miss. But I honestly really love it's art style. It's just one of those things you have to get used to, but I honestly think it's just way more fun and interesting to look at than pretty much all of Ultimate Alien Force.
Greymatter is S tier. I owned two Ben 10 action figures growing up. One was Diamond Head. The other was Greymatter. My biggest disappointment with Alien Force was also the fact that Brainstorm could never hold a candle to Greymatter. I will die on this hill.
“If Four Arms was shirtless, he would be more generic than with the shirt on.” So Four Arms was in fact shirtless in UA, which I completely forgot about. Definitely his weakest design between his three designs, at least to me Little fun fact on Buzzshock and Arctiguana. They first appeared in the original series as some of the aliens used by Ben 10,000. However, Present Ben didn’t start using them until Omniverse at which point, he already had a bunch of other aliens that did electricity and self duplication better and Big Chill I like to attribute Big Chill’s redesign as them getting a dad bod kind of. Since they do have offspring I wished you guys at least looked at the names of the aliens introduced in Omniverse if only to see your reaction to one of the literally being named “The Worst”
Ranking aliens based on looks and powers seems fun. They couldve touched on some of the redesigns in later series though, like four arms going from his shirt and pants to the gladiator outfit
How could you do my boy nano mech like that? I grew up with alien swarm and he was the coolest thing to me as a ben fan. He was my cannonbolt. Obviously looking back the movie was silly and didnt have much going on, but at least they included the alien in the main series. Also buzz shock and arctic iguana are in the first section because of ben 10000 who used them first. The main ben didnt use them until omniverse.
@@infernaldisdain8051 Yes but that was before he gained full control, after he convinced them to just let him work while they argue in a corner i think it became a "Anything below reshaping the cosmos isnt worth discussing" type thing.
@@lvlHive I still don't know how he convinced them to argue in a corner. Their whole thing was that each wanted contradicting things and that this was their body so they wanted to control it as they saw fit. I guess the writers changed that since they wanted to use Alien X and that limiting aspect isn't easy to write around, but man does it make Alien X much less interesting.
So, a little fact about Ultimate Spidermonkey, we've seen other versions of it, when Ben, Gwen and Kevin went to their homeworld, we actually see another one with that form
Wild how you guys are listing everything I find cool about XLR8 as a complaint. "The balls"... "those are cool!" "The tail stripes"... "amazing design!" "looks like a Tim Burton character"... "I love Tim Burton!" He also runs on water.
I can say they can do a general quiz, they're knowledge of the show is average if not below average, a quiz that dives a little deeper in detail could be challenging for them
God, has it been that long already? Next year it's gonna be 20 years since Ben 10 debuted. I still remember when they were airing trailer ads for it all summer (different Cartoon Network, not the US one, aired in 2006), and I had a commitment when the first episode aired, but that commitment happened to get cancelled, so I got to watch the first episode live.
35:40 "Sounds like a newscaster" Well you'll be surprised to know the in-universe explanation for Blitzwolfer's name is that Ben happened to see real life newscaster Wolf Blitzer on tv and changed the aliens name to that. Originally it was just called Benwolf (also fun fact all of the "classic monster" aliens that Ben got in OG were just named Ben-Wolf/Mummy/Victor before Omniverse)
Super fun video. Definitely didnt expect it. Even if I dont agree on everything, it's fun to see yall talk about it and your range of opinions on the designs. Wildmutt was the 2nd alien ever and Ben used him a lot more than you'd remember. And Upchuck was not really used as joke, Max's old love interest/the alien lady who sent the Omnitrix to Earth literally unlocked specifically Upchuck for Ben. Plus Upchuck is the one to beat the Forever King at the end of the original series(he ate a super powerful explosive particle). The AF version is ugly though. I like Ditto, but the best part was definitely Rob Paulson just doing a Yakko voice for him. Happy to see Big Chill get the respect it deserves. Super good design and definitely overpowered. Plus Ben is a mom because of Big Chill which is funny. I do love Armadrillo, very fun to use in the game. Most of the Omniverse re-designs are rough, but I dont mind them giving Juryrig clothes. Honestly I'm not a big fan of Omniverse, but I think it's worth watching t least once for some of the plots and some the new aliens. I especially like the Halloween themed season.
Funfact: There is actually 2 Upchucks inside the omnitrix, because his species divides in 2 subraces and Ben has both. In Omniverse Ben has both of them and can choose to use one or the other
Blitzwolfer you remember as Benwolf because that is what their original name was. The 4th series (Omniverse) pulled a bad Peter Griffin joke that resulted in the name change to Blitzwolfer. Many don't like the name. Snare-oh also used to be Benmummy, but the rename was brushed under the rug as it happened off screen.
@@potatofarmergyro1720 Yeah, I’m glad they gave the “Halloween Trio” proper names. Benwolf could be a play on Beowulf or something, but Benmummy and Benviktor were obvious placeholders. Blitzwolfer, Snare-oh, and Frankenstrike are great names!

There's a counter online that counts how many episodes an alien has been used on screen in the whole series. And it's like: Swampfire: 52 Cannonbolt: 53 Diamondhead: 59 Fourarms: 78! Humongosaur: 89!!
As an unapologetic wild mutt fan I have a bit of a problem with the ultimate, that being that it can talk. Part of the reason I absolutely loved the big doggo is because of how primal and animalistic he felt, and the ultimate took that away for no reason. It was literally his unique thing.
Ditto was probably one of bens worst aliens. He could not duplicate himself infinitely, all of the copies felt the same pain as each other, and they have no other powers or significant physical traits. Hell Ben actually got annoyed with himself because he couldnt handle his clones acting like he does
Another fun fact. In Ben 10 protector of earth. Console versions had a boss fight against a giant plant snapdragon creature. That's from the same planet as Wildvine

People always wanna look down on Greymatter until you're on the floor looking up at him. Dude is smart and crafty enough to put you in your place. I agree with what was said about Ripjaws; he's the worst water alien in Ben's slots. Also, that's not true, he has other and far better water aliens.

In defense of humongousaur: he gets cooler when he gets bigger. His size increase is a pretty cool ability. In I guess bonus for chromastone: he’s basically the diamondhead race’s king and I recall he literally does a Jesus. And when destroyed, he reformed himself into diamondhead. And for spidermonkey: yall are trippin. Design? Sick. Powers? He’s Spider-Man, but with 4 arms and a tail.
Humungousaur's reboot design in honestly way better, it only adds like some spikes and a mace tail, but it made it look so good! It just needed that extra bit, and it works so well, the only thing I like about the reboot
I would've loved to see you argue over Omniverse's aliens even if it was just based on their design, name and powers on the wiki. Especially Bullfrag, Pesky dust and The worst.
I will say, Rath should be higher. For sheer memorability, and still being generally useful, even if he wasn't always the one Ben wanted. Plus, he cuts a wrestling promo on gravity, that's goated.
Chromastone does get defeated at one point, vilgax shatters him and everyone thinks ben straight up is gone only for chromastone pieces to reform... into diamondhead. If i recall Ben here lost access to chromastone for abit. Also chromastone's species, crystalsapien, is basically jesus for diamondhead's species, petrosapien. always loved Goop. I liked when they showed Ben Transformings into the aliens instead of the generic blobs smushing together, you see the silhouetted ben and his skeleton just melt. After transforming Goop is just a puddle until the antigravity device flies in.
not putting upchuck in at LEAST a-tier is the worst take i've heard from you guys (and i've watched ALL the digimon quizzes)... shame....... that and the omniverse hate-- it's actually pretty good! it's goofier but i like it more than ultimate alien honestly, at the very least. oh also blitzwolfer is LITERALLY named after a newscaster lmao (the newscaster being Wolf Blitzer). also cannot believe i heard a "THE RACE WAR STARTS NOOOOW" reference in this, also, big ups
@@MitchFromFBS not really they don't know so many of Ben's Aliens like Loadstar, so i don't think they would remember some side characters, a simple guess the name and power quizz can work
This made me realize how creative the portuguese translated names are. For example wildmutt is "Beast", stinkfly is "insectoid" and ghostfreak would be something like "phanthasmatic" upgrade is "ultra T" and kicking hawk is something like "bawkbawkoid" whatever the hell that is
multiple points 1: yozakura from senran kagura is an anime girl with huge... arm mounted pilebunkers so mitch would be wet and hard 2: terrablade is a ripoff of gamera so its not unique but still a great design 3: big chill fucks ...hard
Fun fact way big IS a literal reference to ultraman shown through ultimate waybig can shoot a beam and fly like ultraman but if you look at way bigs race name its "to'kustar" like toku star tokusatstsu being the genre of sentai ultraman and kamen rider
I’ve come to the conclusion that Tyler hates everything that I love. Echoecho, Jetray, Humongosaur & Brainstorm are literally my favorite some of my favorite aliens along with Cannonbolt, Chamalien, Armodrillo & surprisingly ShockRock from the reboot that everyone hates. It literally upgrades every alien to have more arms & blue energy & stone armor. So versatile. But echoecho is SUCH a sleek design. Waybig & Spidermonkey are way overdesigned & the colors clash with Spidermonkey to me. Deep blue on regular blue sucks imo. Echoecho is like Sackboy had a crossover with RadioShack. & white & green are tied with white & gold as my favorite color combo.
