I would say the strongest characters are defenders of this show. 1) they perform inhuman feats of twisting to make a ‘good’ point 2) they actually sit through this show 3) they can decipher the gibberish tone and meaning of HGS 4) they move rapidly across various platforms and leave comments endlessly 5) they summon the most brain dead takes and reasonings that it leaves the opponent too stunned into silence at the utter levels of BS to properly formulate a response in that moment

They all have consistent and fun personalities, they have goals and the things they do makes sense, and they did it so well that they even managed to make the sexiest blonde guy funny!
This isn’t related to the ranking, but it’s another inconsistency that isn’t explained well in the show that I think needs to be pointed out regarding Dretchen(Demon Teacher/ Ms. Deviantart). She supposed to be a demon and she resembles a human a lot(keep this in mind) and she can create portals to the demon realm and potentially everywhere else. So what was that demon that Thyme summoned in that one episode. It didn’t look anything like the teacher. And we see them both come out of a similar portal. And why was he the one that tried to fight Thyme(I don’t blame him though) while the demon teacher is pretty tame. And if she can make portals like the demon Thyme summoned, why didn’t she ask her to make a portal herself instead of a random demon? Just another inconsistency this show has, what else is knew
I think there's 3 possible explanations for why she looks different. 1: There are different types of Demons in this Universe that very in appearance. Like in The Owl House, which is a way better show than this. So Ms DeviantArt is just one of the more human looking ones. 2: Ms DeviantArt is some kind of Hybrid of a Demon and who knows what else, explaining why she's more humanoid in appearance and seems to have a somewhat human lifespan. Or 3: Demons in this Universe have a human/human like form they can enter to blend in better. Kinda like in Hazbin Hotel, another better show than this. Which means Ms DeviantArt probably is just in her human form partially. Though none of these answers are probably true since the creators and the series don't bring attention to it once. So it's anyone's guess on why.
I thought it was cause she was a Succubus of some sort. Still, even Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss (both good shows) have better demon designs than this wench.
@@allforone3427 I think it's 1. Reason being is that there are multiple types of demons because of the sole reason of use. Ms DeviantArt was made for the sole purpose of being a teacher, and The other demons were made to be enemies. Probably no thought went into Ms DeviantArt then, "Let's have a demon teacher cause it'd be fun." In general, having a demon teacher itself opens for a lot of possibilities. Randomly doing it means you can't play both sides. Either they're naturally evil or they're not.

Is she an outcast of her race? Like imagine the story of a little Demon girl who rises above her evil nature and attends a school for sacred protectors, going against the wishes of her people and maybe even parents. That alone sounds like a better story than this.
Honestly despite the show being . . . well, you know, Wyverna Dretch is such a fascinating little anomaly even compared to the other bizarre and inexplainable happenings we see throughout. I mean, like you said she's shown an easy mastery of what would be considered extremely overpowered abilities, combined with the fact she's, well, _a literal demon._ Her entire existence brings about so many questions and inquiries about who she is and what she's doing there. It's also fascinating because she's not the typical "Sexualized" demon; she dresses and behaves quite conservatively and behaves professionally. Though of course she gambles and drinks a fair amount, to be fair all of the teachers have these same vices to some degree, so maybe it's just another explanation for why High Guardian Academy is such a messed-up place. Maybe she had a hand in that? Who knows. Though it would fit in well and even lend credence to the idea the 3 Headmasters and the Triumvirate are one and the same. I mean, like I said, *_she's a literal fucking devil._*
Olive power level entirely depends on if she is allowed to bring that stone spell. Rose certainly wouldn't have won their duel if Sage hadn't protected her from turning to stone. If she can't bring that spell, then there's no way Neppycat loses to her. He is scared of her, but I think it's because he's dumb (animal intelligence) not because he's weaker. The problem for Olive is that she lacks the stomach to kill (and also lacks the intelligence to attack from a distance...). Neppy would be too scared to fight back at first, but he can both dodge like a champ and take hits like a champ (like Thyme's arrows only affected him due to the napping potion), so it's not like Olive would instantly win even if he wasn't fighting back. But I think she would eventually corner him and force him to fight back. You know how house cats will hiss and scratch at you if you back them into a corner? Neppy would do that out of pure instinct and obliterate Olive, the same way he fucked up that tree.
Since this seems heavily inspired by DnD, I am going to say that Flowering Thorn would be able to harm the demon. Demons are traditionally immune to non-magical damage, but magically enchanted weapons count as magical damage. It's how melee characters stay relevant late game.
The Triad appear to be ONE PERSON split between a youthful version, a middle-aged version, and an elderly version of themself. All 3 have the same skin tone, the same hair (except for the elderly version who's hair has grayed), the same eye color, etc. If anything, they ARE the same person...who found a way to live forever via time manipulation.
These rankings are always weird, yes they are fun, but in reality the capacity to "beat each other" is very relative, and often works more like a rockpaperscissors mixed with skill and power levels, than just purely a power and skill level scale

It’s like the equivalent of kicking the opponents router while in an Online Match. Like if possible, a Wish can defeat Goku immediately by having him turn to non sentient dust.

She’s a color-swapped Zinnia, a character who appears in the episode about the healing water and leaves after learning about the danger! These guys were so lazy they just color swapped one character and gave her a new name!
And they do it in the same damn episode (Disorientation Day) so really they just didn’t care. At least in MLP:FIM, they are prerigged models, but here they literally hand-drew the character into the frames! Btw, because of this recolour fiasco, I’ve rewritten Zinnia to be a chameleon person who specialises in enchanted blacksmithing. Think of that what you will 🤭
If you could pick out any characters from fiction to replace the teachers at the academy, who would you pick? I actually did a mini-script of Balthesar Gelt in Caraway's position giving Sage a "grow-up" speech under Lobster Hero's last video. I'd like to see what people could do with other characters and how they'd educate these kids.

I feel like that even without the ability to counter the demon's hax abilities, it could still basically be defeated by a character strong enough to one-shot it.
I wanna comment who I think is the strongest but I haven’t seen a single episode, but don’t care to start but find your videos very fun, and good for getting an idea what the quality of this show is, as well with every other video I’ve seen with honest reviews and unsurprisingly all of them using their brains and common sense that is have said it to be hot garbage only worthy of existing to show how to not make a show. But in the end I just wanna say beans.
I enjoyed this. Also loved the KunPow Enter the fist reference. While I was serving it was the only movie I watch cause my PS2 wasn't feeling like letting me watch another other movies so I ended up watch that movie easily thousand times. I'd just have it on repeat....anyway so this video reminded me of the boys vs HGS and I got to say.....sweet really enjoyed this. Thanks again for the great content. Can't wait to see what you got in store next.

I really like this video concept and I really like how you ranked these, though I'm not too sure about the dragon. 🤔 I assumed that the dragon turning into stars was a result to how it dies cause we don't see it past this point (I can't say for sure since it's not really explained what happened.) If this were the case: even if we saw this as an attack, it would be similar to ranking a Pokemon high solely based on the damage number on the move Self destruct or Explosion. You could also compare it to Kog Maw from League of Legends since he bares a surprisingly similar attack (just way stronger)? Idk. Just food for thought. I guess I'd still rank the dragon above the diamond guys but possibly under the Triad for this reason. Either way it doesn't actually matter that much in the grand scheme of things, awesome video. 👍
The point is that when the dragon dies it creates 5 stars. Stars have so much energy that a supernova can wipe out an entire universe. That Dragon had enough energy to create 5 of those. xD
If you ever wanna do another powerscailing/vs video on HGS, you should do a video comparing them to other similar series in terms of power. seeing how they stack up against other "bunch of teens go to special school" series would be cool

It amuses me no end that you've put more effort into this channel than anyone working on High Guardian did with their own work. From the biggest piles of shit grow the best mushrooms.
I dunno about Rosemary, I think I would place her lower. The reasoning behind that is that she varies between useless and competent and not in any logical way. One minute she can easily beat Olive, the next she stumbles on her own sword. At her best she is pretty powerful but she is rarely at her best. That do pose the question why she can be so powerful one second and on par with Aster in the next. Yeah, the answer is really poor writing. I can't think a single reason otherwise, it isn't like any exterior force seems to affect her competence or anything. But in the shape she is at about 80% of the time, I think Olive would beat her and people lower on the list too (like Amaryllis). At here best she is in the right place though. I am not so sure about Sage either, yeah, her incompetence killed the sea dragon but she is just as dangerous for her friends as her enemies and she could just kill herself trying spells she hasn't really mastered. You are assuming she can repeat that cheat spell she uses in the last episode but it honestly feels more like a fluke then competence and she almost killed herself with her terrasphere earlier. She is a danger to everyone including herself. Having her on your side in a fight is kinda like teaming up with Groo the wanderer, you are just as likely to get accidentally killed as winning. I do see why both of these characters are very hard to place though, they are basically bumbling themselves through 11 episodes and suddenly seems pretty powerful in the last one, which could mean they skipped the character development that made them competent but I doubt that. If they ever make a second season I would assume them to be just as incompetent in that season too, so I am going for it being a fluke and they both got lucky.
I more surprised Rosemary is in the middle of list, I expected her higher due to her plot armor and being main character, but for a main character, she's so weak lol
You know it would be weird AND stupid if it turned out that the Triad and the Triumvirate were all siblings and this whole show was just one big sibling rivalry AND boys vs girl thing between the six of them.
Okay, not that I think the list is wrong, but I have a possible explanation for why the diamond guards and the dragon were so high up(maybe even the triad?). There's clearly some serious power in the mineral water, which seems to have some correlation to life energy. Methinks that the guards and the dragon were empowered by the water, allowing the near invulnerability we see. Specifically, the long lifespan of a dragon being sped through artificially could've caused all the power from that possible lifetime to surge and create the stars. This might also explain why the skeleton could move, as it still had life energy in it's bones and just chose to keep living for some reason. As for the triad, they knew the location of the super water and wanted the students to seek it out. Dretch is also aware of it and is the person in charge of the hunt. I believe that the reason that the triad cut open a hole to the demon realm, and have a demon with teleportation powers employed, is that they look out a demon who had those abilities, and promised them a place to stay if they would teleport into a room and take some water for them. The guards only seemed to react due to the door, so the triad might've been aware of the guards, and thus sent in a bunch of kids to seek out the water. They can get it anytime, but it weeds out the kids who have a functional self preservation drive, and if a kid has the skills to survive the cave, they are allowed to keep the water. Those that drink it, in pursuit of greater power, get taught by either the triad, or end up joining the triumvirate like lavender. Just a crazy theory, but I though of it and wanted to share.
Consider that when the demon regenerates he two things happened: 1°- It wasn't instantaneous, it was unnaturally fast but if you just kept attacking you probably could kill it. 2°- It looked like that tired the demon and wasn't effortless, on a battle of endurance it would still probably be killed
So in any other show I would agree with these reasonings. But in this show I have to wonder if Mandrake, for example, was actually that strong or if he could take a laser beam to the face because the plot needed him to. Nothing else in this show is consistent so it’s wouldn’t be a shock to me if these characters are buffed/nerfed/ as the plot needs them to be
I think the inclusion of the demon demonstrates that trying to quantify characters on a linear scale won't work well. There's more factors involved in a fight.
Note that the dragon is not necessarily THAT strong. It only has to LOOK like a star from whatever planet they're on. You can see the ISS from Earth with your naked eye and it looks like a star (in fact, if you can only see one "star" up in the sky because of light pollution, that's the ISS). You can achieve a similar effect by putting a large reflector into geostationary orbit. Problem: that's still pretty OP. The ISS solar panels are around 8600kg and it orbits at around 400km. Geostationary orbit is a bit under 100x further out. Luminosity decreases with the square of the distance, so to look like the ISS does in orbit, you'd need 10000x the mass, so say 80 million kg. Plugging in the numbers, that's around 38 TJ, or 9 kilotons of TNT. For one "star". Put into context, the first atomic bombs were around 20 kilotons of TNT in yield. So yeah, the dragon explodes into two and a half nukes and a mass the size of... a 500m cube of silicon. In theory you could cheat the numbers a lot by just putting up a bunch of highly reflective foil instead, but I honestly doubt the writers put half the amount of thought into that scene that I did into back of the napkin calculations.
