A quick video showcasing the Raspberry Pi CM4 running God of War - Chains of Olympus, locked at 30 FPS at 2x native resolution using hacks.
It’s pretty impressive that a $35 PC can run this title, especially at 2x. Unfortunately my screen is only 800x480 however 2x is 960x544. I still think it looks fantastic. Note that Buffered Rendering is still enabled which is required for this game to display the correct graphics like bloom, blur and glowing effects. Without it the emulator doesn’t render the correct graphics properly although it does run faster, albeit far less accurately and causes graphical artifacts as well as flickering.
You do get the occasional dip here and there in frames. I tried some 60 FPS hacks and the CM4 does try its best, but unfortunately I couldn’t get it to run at full speed. Maybe the Pi 5 will get us there!
