I mean, isn’t arcanisaur more then just a board clear? It’s an elemental that deals damage. So if you have Frost Litch Jaina up, that means arcanisaur can also be a Reno heal up? Similar to a baron geddon?
But the taunt isnt a beast. So witching hour will still summon Hadronox. But the taunts that Hadronox summons will be slightly worse if that taunt minion died. It will have way more impact in Big Priest I think.
11:50 *YET ANOTHER ASSASSIN HAS BEEN CRAFTED TO TARGET MY CULTISTS AND I, TO THWART OUR PLANS. PERHAPS I WILL CONSIDER THIS A COMPLIMENT, AS SURELY MY POWER IS KNOWN AND FEARED BY THE LOOKS OF THINGS.*
*MIGHTY MECHA'THUN. GREETINGS. YOUR POWERS ARE, INDEED QUITE DANGEROUS. I WILL VERITABLY BE USING GRIFTAH TO PROTECT MYSELF FROM YOUR CULTISTS. THEY PLAGUE THE MORTAL LADDER, AND THIS COUNTER HAS BEEN LONG IN COMING. NO LONGER WILL I BE FORCED TO RELY ON PUNY MUKLA TO DEFEND AGAINST YOU. NOW, HAKKAR AND GRIFTAH MUST CONSUME MY 3200 DUST, AND ENTER EVERY ONE OF MY DECKS THEREAFTER, DESTROYING YOU UTTERLY.*
Since when is Trump relevant again wtf? He was watchable during the beta, yes. But since two or three years there is nothing but noob explanations and false predictions. He's also long gone from the tournament scene... Tl;dr: I don't get this comment, sorry. Didn't know it was 2k14 again. Next thing you say is let's watch a Noxious card rating.
Miles Davis it's still a bad card. Smite was only played in Velen Oriest which never was tier 1, in fact, was a bad deck until nowadays with the resurrect effects. Kripp said Totemic Smash is bad and will only be used for Malygos decks. The OP commented that it's better than smite. When you're only using it with Malygos, it's actually the equivalent. A bad card. All these cards are bad cards; just because it's an essential card for a tier 3 deck built around another card it doesn't make it good
I think a cool Shaman loa could be something like 8, 9, 10 mana that adds another copy of every spell in your deck to your deck (but with a better description than that)
Are you sure that's how Spirit of the Frog works? It reads like, play a spell - draw a spell. The best use I can see of it would be with unstable evolution to draw all your 2 cost spells in one turn
Ok, I completely misread the Shaman spirit. I thought it was like a Gadgetzan Auctioneer that debuffed the mana cost of drawn spells by 1. That would have generally sucked. But now that I understand it, I think it's meta defining. Super super cool card that requires some smart build around strategies. It's going to enable a OTK deck somehow - maybe even with the new Champion who casts on three.
Oh boy call me crazy but I'm really exited for predatory instinct. Control druid is actually the only druid I play since I feel dirty doing anything else and that slots in just nicely. Some testing needs to be done to see how much it conflicts with hadronox but I'm optimistic.
the quests are leaving. so blizzard doesnt care if they become op for a few months. they just want them to be played. lakari sacrifice will be played for sure.
Talanji + dragon priest. Put in some Bone drake in there can be a huge deal. Maybe bring them back with Twilight call or copy them to put more dragon to your hand. Then Talanji become and 8 mana 7/7 Dragonlord except it is battlecry!!
Would Griftah be viable with someone like "Discover 3, give one at random to opponent"? Or, "discover 2, give a copy of one at random to opponent"? And maybe tweak the stat line?
Priest's spirit shuffles a copy of a dead minion in your deck, since they didn't start* in your deck, you can pull em all with bwonsamdi and then summon with talanji. Lil' complex but clearly its a support to priest's spell dmg combo
Because you have to play the spirit when the minion on board dies, and draw out the cards from your deck, which could take awhile. Thoughtsteal and stonehill defender put cards right in your hand.
because , turn 6 -7 you look around , opps two doomguard crashes you and you died. or whatever druid bullshit and you died , it doesnt matter how many card you draw , you died. well played
It's really not worth mentioning why would I play Talanji when I could kill my opponent with a combo with the rest of my mana plus maly/velen. Why would I play talanji in when all the BIG cards cost 1 already. Much better to use her as a backup and zola combo pieces etc. Then play her to get cards that aren't reduced cost.
Saronite Taskmaster is actually a pretty good fit in a lot of aggressive decks: Most of them have a lot of minions that deal 3 damage in the early game, and the ability to straight up win the board on turn 1 is really valuable for those decks. (Read: Flame Imp)
Hey Kripp how's it goin', guys here -- just wanted to say thank you for always posting videos so consistently and with such high quality. Rania does some excellent editing and PS work as well, love watching her stream too. Cheers guys~
Haunting Visions: Much more than Glyph, this is a true 0-mana card. It is 0 mana as long as you plan to play a spell that costs 3 or more mana on this turn - then you can just throw visions in there and be happy. Of course, wouldnt be played just for that - but if the synergy strikes home, it is definitely a good card.
SPIRIT OF THE FROG: makes a deck with multiple low cost spells good. Just think about it as having 3 cost spells as the highest combined with some 0/ 1 /2 mana spells for boardclear / single target damage spells. Combine it with malagose shaman for draw with the cheap spells. Might work I think??? Or the other option: agro shaman: 1 mana Lightining bold / 2 mana crackle / 3 mana lava burst + The frog minion = 6 mana deal 8 + 3-6 damage. If you have a single spell totem on the board it get big and hurts a lot. Not to talk about the turn after: your opponent still needs to clear the frog or else;-) So in short: 4 stars wild mode for sure I think.
I disagree with the 1-star rating on Griftah. When you're playing aggro or zoo, getting a whatever minion with your yeti is pretty good. And giving your opponent a whatever card (as long as it's not taunt or removal or stuff) isn't useful for them at all.
It's 2 simple. For one turn you summon spirit of the frog then w8 till next turn since it's stealth and only zoo locks and shity druids are your opponents and cannot kill it.Next turn you play euryka and guess what start to obliderate him with drawing spell after spell :)
Frog is great, it is faster than the card you compare it against. And it tutors your deck. You want 4 manaspell, play 3 mana spell. Want 2 mana spell play 1 mana spell. Want two rockbiters and windfury, play unstable evolution enough times. Need hex to survive play a 3 mana spell.
Now zentimo with two rockbiters and windfury. Nice 36 damage combo if you have 3 zero attack minions on board at the start of your turn. Or just use rockbiter and windfury with leeroy, for 18 damage. Don't think you have good enough probability to draw unstable evolution, then add 0 mana spells to your deck until you are satisfied with the probability, or add more 1 mana spells to draw those 2 mana spells instead. Playing frog and bunch of spells gives opponent information that they will need to have counter play for your combo every single turn.
Arcanosaur seems pretty bad... You have to play minions in order to activate an effect that hurts your own minions. That's entirely counter productive. In general though, the elemental mechanic revolves around preemptively playing cards in the hope that the effects you can trigger the next turn will be relevant. That's partly why they fail so hard. If I play a tar creeper on turn 4 because I want to activate my bonfire elemental on turn 5, and then my opponent plays a Cobalt Scalebane, now I have to abandon my gameplan and fireball the thing instead, wrecking my elemental synergy. Arcanosaur receives this same problem, but the effect is amplified because you have to predict when a board clear will be useful, and usually by the time you can do that, you need a board clear to play immediately, not the next turn. Not only that, but since most of the value is packed into the battlecry, the punishment for mistiming the elemental synergy is devastating. I don't see this card being played, EVEN if elemental mage becomes a thing.
5:44 The none loa legendary class cards are called the champions. Edit: BTW... I do not think any minion based Aggro deck is gonna see much play. Thanks to all the mage cards we have seen. Not even zoo.
OMG, how can you miss the fact that Griftah is awesome in zoo. When you play against a slower deck, card draw for you is a lot more valuable than for your opponent. The stats are pretty good, it give a card to your opponent that they won't need, but the card you get is always valuable because all you want to do is dump stuff on the board and refill.
Wow I am usually calling out Krupp on misreading cards, but I think he just clarified a card to me that I misread. I thought spirit of the frog made it so that you would draw a spell from your deck, and it would then cost 1 more. Like cast a hex, draw lighting bolt but make it cost 2. Cast that bolt and you get a volcano but it costs 6. And wow, I was really wrong. Can anyone confirm that Kripp is describing it correctly? I'm not very confused on this one.
I really like Griftah. There's a lot of strategy to playing it, it's got some anti-combo potential, the potential to mill, it's ridiculously strong in Warrior, with their high synergy requirement class cards... I wouldn't be surprised to see this as a high skill tech option in a lot of control decks, honestly. I'd also like to acknowledge Totemic Smash has great card art. It's never seeing play, but I love the card art.
I could see Saronite Taskmaster being used in some degenerate Deathrattle combo hunter to flood your opponents board while killing your opponent with face damage. it certainly wouldn't be good or fun to play against, but I bet it'd be fun to play.
Spirit of the frog is gonna be insane. You don’t have to chain it. If you have a big hand you can theoretically play three one cost spells in a row and draw three two cost spells. You might even be able to guarantee frostwolves to protect it
I don't really like the spirit of the raptor unless you can get at least 2 cards out of it. You're most likely to be getting the kill early on with your hero power, but it doesn't really make sense to hold this card in your opening hand since you'd much rather just have an actual card that does something. You also don't want to draw it late though because even if you draw it at a time when the 1 mana doesn't matter, you're not necessarily going to be able to kill anything on the board with your hero power. That being said, it might be fine with the druid DK since your hero power will be quite a bit stronger meaning it might actually be more useful late game than early game, so I guess we'll see.
No Likey Gs Omnipresence it depends if you are decent at arena or not Arena can always be better than buying packs otherwise you should just buy a few packs when you have extra but never spend all of it
The best thing a f2p player can do is get off their ass and mow a lawn. It takes 30 minutes. You can buy an entire xpac for 30 minutes worth of getting off your ass. And while your at it, wash it while its up.
he did pronounce it, just not in the american "dsh" way which is just a mangled version of that letter ^^ but yeah if blizzard itself pronounces that name that wrong, then thats the way to pronounce it i guess
@@Maric18 If a character is named Talanji, and the people who named her that pronounce it a specific way, then that is the correct way to pronounce it. Blizzard doesn't pronounce the name THEY created wrong. that's not how names work.
@@TheyCallMePhinq if i may quote myself "then thats the way to pronounce it i guess" so i already agree with you on the facts i was just saying that just because the creators of a name have created in in a speech impediment of a language that rapes and pillages other languages, doesn't mean that the languages that name sounds similar to can't pronounce it like they would pronounce similar names. Basically if ol' murica gets to say heckler and cock cause ch is just too hard, then everyone else gets to pronounce stuff the way it feels natural as well.
Kripp, you forgot to consider that Arcanosaur has good synergy as a 6 mana alternative or addition to Baron Geddon with Frost Lich Jaina. Not that I think it's that good, it's a potentially worse version of Dread Infernal, but that synergy does make it better than you might expect.
Minion elemental mage is pretty solid. Arcanosaur is better than people give it credit for, it's just it only works in that deck and only when it's a decent enough deck to fight the meta
hey kripparian! I've been watching your videos for a few months now and noticed that you don't have substitles going on.. :/ Would you mind me translating your vids into Greek so the people of my race can also enjoy your channel?
Griftah, without comparing the mana cost and body of the two, is still a lot better then Spellslinger. First you could pick cards that profit you more then your opponent, second you could pick cards, that don't benefit neither of you but for him to hold the card hurts him more then for you, third you know what card your opponent holds. But I guess Spellslinger is also a 1-star card anyway.
I dont get it why would be oaken summon gain 6 armor and summon a 3/6 taunt(often how it's use) would be played and not a summon a 3/24 taunt which seems pretty op???!
The problem with the arcanosaur is that you can't reliable play elementals to satisfy it's requirement. When you need it you won't have elementals and people can just flood the board if you didn't play any elementals the previous turn
It's Kripp we're talking about. He's always going with his gut feeling and I'm not saying it's always wrong, he's obviously very experienced player, it's just he could at least make some effort and do some research apart from top 10 Reddit posts. Too frequently he just forgets about the existence of certain cards and has no clue about meta since at the time of new expansion hype he's already playing arena since two months, even if at the expansion launch he has been legend and had solid understanding of what's going on in constructed.
Griftah is a slightly interesting card, the interesting part is that you will probably pick the worst card in both discovers, not the best one, to ensure that your opponent does not get a good card, so you want to discover 2 cards that are worse than griftah, because if you discover 2 cards that are better than griftah, it is possible you cannot play your discovered card, because you already spend mana on griftah, while your opponent gets to play their discovered card first, and possibly kill griftah, essentially making griftah counter itself griftah most likely wont be a good card and it is probably not worth crafting it, but for the sole purpose of encountering unique situations and generally experiencing something slightly different, because you have to consider the state of the game, the worth of either cards ending up in either players hand, and possibly consider your plays and reevaluate the plays of your opponent based on the fact that you exactly know one of their cards, it is probably worth it to play this card if its available to you
Everyone reviewing spirit of the frog wrong. You don't need nor have to chain draw. It's essentially whenever you cast a spell draw a spell (if you have a spell that cost 1 more in your deck). But you can play several spells in your hand and draw another several ones. No special order needed. You focus too much on the chain mechanic that forget the other case scenarios
Pretty much all of what you said about Spirit of the Frog made no sense with what the card says. You cast 1 cost, it will draw a 2 cost if you have it. You cast another 1 cost...it draws another 2 cost if you have it. There is no chain anything, no reset anything. cast 0->1 then cast 4 -> 5 then cast 1 -> 2 all perfectly fine.
12:35 how would you be giving them an advantage half the time? Shouldn't it be you get an advantage half the time and the other half you go even with them? If one card has power level 7 and the other has power level 3 and you choose 7, you will either go even or +4.
I agree with Kripp that Saronite Taskmaster aint that great. It is way overhyped. Haunting Visions seems pretty weak. Like why would you want to spend 3 mana to save 3 mana? Just play Far Sight. I can't think of any kind of Shaman deck that would care about playing random spells. Also I think playing an Elemental the previous turn is an easier requirement than holding a Dragon.
Talanji seems good, but in standard, with Frozen Throne rotating out soon, I fear it won't see much play as Benedictus and Devour Mind will be gone. Still, might see decent synergy with Ysera.
There's still a 4 month period where Benedictus and Devour Mind will be present. I wouldn't dismiss it. But I doubt it would be good to use it that way to begin with.
