Rating Every Tactics Ogre Soundtrack Pt 1 (Air Land, Avilla Hanya, Unit March) 

I like hearing your thoughts on these, I'll for sure watch more videos if you make them. I like Reborn's OST the most, followed by PSP then SNES. With some of the other tracks, don't forget they have other versions (Ogre Battle which is on SNES, PS1 and Saturn as well as Ogre Grand Repeat). There's also the 1995 soundtrack for TO which is different from the SNES version. I don't know if you want to cover all of those because the videos could become really long if you did.

As someone who also passionately loves the soundtrack, and has listened to all the versions, I like certain versions of songs more. I think that no one can argue that the PSP and Reborn versions of Blasphemous Experiments are the best ones. Avilla Henya is perhaps my favorite song in the series, and I prefer the SNES version as the percussion is so much louder, and the more harsh notes in those single notes at the beginning fit the attitude very well as that song plays during some more dangerous battles. Some of the new songs from PSP and Reborn I also really love like Autumnal Sky. The psp and reborn do add what I'd call a "second act" to a lot of the songs, like Avila and Island Atlas, and I also enjoy that. One thing that might be cool is if someone talented would "demake" the PSP and Reborn versions of the songs so that the "Second act" of the songs would be in the old sound fonts. As always I am glad to find a channel that is as passionate about Tactics Ogre as you are, as this game has been a part of my life for the entirety of it.

Three Kings (midi version), Blasphemous (PSP), Cygnet (Reborn) are my favs. Also, Unsealed (both PSP and Reborn). Was trying just today to figure the notes of the melody of Unsealed, its unusual scales and patterns made me get frustrated at first try, but its sinister and intense vibes is enough to make me spend more hours trying to properly play it on Guitar.

Watching this video has me thinking that maybe the training music has had an influence on GameFreak's Pokemon Game OSTs for like traversing routes as an example, especially the older gen games. This is the kind of video I didn't know I wanted to vibe to, despite being a musician. Fun to hear the variations.

I was talking about it in the discord server the other day. Something about the older versions makes them easier on the ears. Maybe they used less instruments that make it more likely to be understood by the brain? Nostalgia? Whatever it is, the older songs are much nicer.

Yeah Reborn has some beautiful orchestral music but occasionally I miss the PSP versions.

I hate to be the one to go "well, actually", but Unit March was never the training theme in the "classic" version of Tactics Ogre. Harvest Dance was used during training before it was used for story fights in the remake. Unit March was used in an attract screen showcasing the different classes. The odd names for the Saturn songs are in-jokes by the composers. FFT's sound test in the Japanese version and War of the Lion has these as well.

Favorite songs in general? Mine are Showdown and Clash of Giants

I enjoy SNES Avilla Hanya better. One that only got better as time passed and new versions appeared is Three Kings.
