Nice review. I am not currently looking for headsets but the detail in the review and the presentation still made it worth my time.

The only downside is that how far it extends out does look kinda weird. Great review i think i'll pick up a pair of these. Even 3 years later still one of the better cheap options

I’ve had these since I was 10 bought em at Hastings, I’m 13 now, I’ve used em violently and they still sound as good as ever. They cost 55$ on amazon at the moment, definitely gonna try to pic up another pair.

I got these that way I can switch from my PC to my ps4 and they are amazing. Although you can use Razer synapse to use virtual surround sound, I can't because synapse screws up my spirit on my mamba te in the middle of a CSGO comp game which ruins my game. But still they are great stereo headphones and I can still tell where enemies are coming from.

I mean this video is as old as the hills now but by far my favorite headset, I use a portable AMP with these bad boys, obviously not needed as they don’t require a lot of juice to power them but it’s just that extra little bit of sound quality you get out of them.

so does the mic and stereo bothe work with the 7.1 v2 version on ps4?

From someone who's owned these for a little over a year... allow me to tell you some things about these headphones. (Pros & Cons) For starters, the headphones begin to feel uncomfortable if you use them for long periods of time. I'm talking about the band on top of the head. As for the earpads, they sit comfortably and do a good job in their own regard. Also, I have not received any negative comments when using this mic, other than sometimes people mentioning it's a little low (Volume-Wise)- which could have been my own PC settings - but other than that, no other complaints that come to mind from other people when using both Discord chat, and in-game callouts. The sound is pretty standard and does its job just fine, but they can be tweaked with the use of *Razer's Surround Sound program to modify some aspects of virtual surround sound. If you do enable this surround sound, make sure to take your time calibrating it to really maximize a nice setup with them. As for the quality, these headphones are still holding up perfectly. No tears from the leather vinyl, no looseness in the stretching out of the headphones, and overall no sound degradation over the amount of time I've had these. As for how I use these headphones and take care of them: I generally use them for games such as PUBG, CS:GO, Fortnite BR, GTA, Forza Horizon 4, etc. Also for Discord as mentioned above. As to how I've handled these, I generally leave them alone (exposed on top of a desk) and never mishandle them (I.E throw them out of rage or bend them in ways they shouldn't). I treat them regularly, without extra precaution or being too rough. If you just lay them down after use and keep them clean without throwing them/ letting them fall, they should generally hold up a very long time for you. * : Razer's Surround Sound Program came with Razer Synapse for me as a 'gift' that allowed me to enable virtual surround sound for these headphones. *tl;dr* These headphones are amazing in many aspects, but if you're looking for comfortability for long use, I'd suggest looking elsewhere.

Would you recommend this, or the Razer Threshers? I've been getting mixed answers on which of the two to get, people have been telling me to get the more expensive option if I have the budget for it but then I also see reviews saying that the krakens have THX surround sound unlike the Threshers and the mic on these are supposedly far better.

I've bought this razer headset for the xbox one. I have a mixamp that came with a set of turtle beaches so I decided to use that with it. And everything seemed to work perfect, but I noticed when I would talk in a party chat. I could hear myself echo. But it was only audible to me and nobody else. Dont know what it could be. They worked fine on the ps4, with no echo

The volume wheel goes up one way, and down another, thats not gonna be a problem when you are gaming and just want to adjust the volume without looking

I really wanted to get these but unfortunately they have issues with the PS. Once I found out about them not working for the PS I talked to a rep about this and was told that they really dont want to trouble shoot any issues that I would have to go to Razer to get anything done. And I could not get ahold of anyone at Razer to get some answers about this. So I just decided not purchase them. A very well thought out review. Nice work.
