Thank you, Thank you, thanks you. I've never worked on a car or truck before and saved a ton of cash!!! I didn't even have car ramps and had it done in 45 minutes. My wife was so impressed she dropped her dress.
I can't thank you enough, I followed your instructions last week to replace pressure solenoid & sensor in my 01 Dakota and since then have driven 400+ miles with no problem, and no "1763" error code! You guys rock!
Thank you so much for your video. I was afraid of tackling this on my own but after I found out how much a technician would charge, it pushed me to DIY it. You have been a tremendous help!!! Thank you again for doing this for us.
Thanks for the video. My local Ringgold Dodge dealer wanted $1000 to change these parts. After watching the video I decided I can do this on my own and did and saved a ton of money. It took me about 2 hours from start to finish dropping the pan and cleaning it up and replacing the parts then closing it back up. The truck shifts great like it should.
I ordered the master solenoid kit for my 48RE from you guys a few days ago, and just recently installed it. Transmission works like it's supposed to now. The kit was great! Good packaging, included all the parts and gaskets. The small things make all the difference - including the misc gaskets and whatnot. The only notable difference is my torx bolts were T25's, not T20. The 48RE is mated behind a 5.9 diesel out of a '04 Ram 2500.
HUGE thanks to you for doing this video the way you did. Showing how the wiring harness was connected and should be disconnected really made my repair easy. Videos like this are what we need to help people.
Thanks for posting. Replaced both the solenoid and transducer yesterday, all for price of parts (about $112), avoiding likely a $800-$1,000 bill from the trans place. Excellent and clear instructions - Thanks again for helping me save $$$
Excellent video. I only lightly dispute the 25-30 minutes. Doing this on your back with constant dripping makes this unpleasant, but your video is really great.
Andy Roby Thanks for the kind words and Support ! We work hard to keep the price down , and work on volume while offering and keeping the items good quality. Many of the other parts companies have gone to all Offshore China components.
Hi, I feel so happy I found this video. I have a 2005 slt dakota. Transmission is 5 speed. Some times the check engine come up and I feel a hit in the transmission and it stay on 3er speed. Normally if it happens when I am doing a stop, I set 2nd and drive to a parking lot and turn it off, wait a minute and start over, set D and problem solved. Thanks for helping me with some idea about what to do to solved permanently this problem. Thanks.
Did all of this and adjusted my kickdown cable and my transmission seems fine! Only now am I reading about band adjustments that I was apparently supposed to do :/ What's the harm if I don't do them?
You'll notice 2nd to third shift will slip sometimes, especially under acceleration These bands grip a drum when applied and hold the drum stationary to complete the shift. Slipping bands will wear out and score the drum.
Thank you so much for posting this video and taking the time to answer questions posted on here. I called to buy some parts form you guys and the service was EXCELLENT. If there was a rating I would rate you guys 10 out of 10. Thank you!
Very Informative, Thank you very much. Just got done doing this work today after ordering parts online. Your information here saved me lots of money and more importantly time and backache by describing the exact size of the nuts and torques that way I could grab every tool i needed before sliding under the truck rather then getting up and down 15 times to get the right sizes and tools. Much appreciated and again Thank you!!! (also fixed the issue i was having, truck was reving but not shifting properly and 3rd gear was all but useless, at high speeds would try to speed up and truck would go to 3rd only to switch to 2nd and redline in acouple seconds. All seems to be operating properly now 'knock on wood' and would not shift out of any gear unless at or above 3.5k rpms, was rather annoying and gas consuming,)
first and foremost has a service ever been done to it ? often if the fluid is even half a qt low these units can react quite strange. I would eliminate these aspects first before replacing parts. Feel free to email me further through our site
Bought my governor sensor and transducer from Cascade. Came in 2 day to New Jersey. I just changed them with the help of this video. 07 ram 5.9 Cummins shifts like new with 101000 on the odometer. No more shutter shifting between 1st and 2nd. Down shifts into as it should as well. Thank you Cascade. I highly recommend.
I was called when the transmission gets hot and kicks itself out of overdrive. Your transmission cooling lines might be clogged. There's a check valve somewhere so you can check that.
I purchased a 42re HD overhaul kit from you and would like to say thank you for the quick shipping! as I was installing these parts I did a quick search for tutorial videos and was very happy to see that your company provided detailed instructional videos like this one. I will absolutely use cascade again and recommend you guys to friends and family. thanks again for excellent customer service!
I bought a 1999 DODGE DURANGO slt plus 5.9 for 850$ the shop told the owners it needed a complete rebuild, but im a MOPAR guy and knew what it was, with one of your kits for the 46re I got a nice truck with leather, power 3rd row seating tow package, well kept truck, cheep.THANK YOU!!!
WOW you made it Sound and look very easy every other person I seen do this job on RU-vid made it seem very difficult but in this video you just showed me the 100% Truth on how to get this so called Big Job Fix in The lowest time. Thank you So much for all of the information. I decided to do this job on my 99 Dodge Ram 1500 myself because a lot of mechanic shops out here in Atlanta Georgia or nothing but rip offs. I put $1,400 down to get this job done and they still did not fix my problem and lie to me so I'm very fed up with taking it to a shop
Thank you very much... I have a 2002 dodge 2500 5.9L Cummins, It was starting out in 2nd gear and skipping over third. I put in the Governor Solenoid and Tansducer using your video and now it runs like scalded dog. Thank you Mr. You Tube Mechanic Man, We Salute you. If i were close I would buy you a beer.
Thank you, you were thorough, I was focused on the overdrive solenoid because I think that’s my problem. My 2002 newer gen takes long to drop into last gear, but if I let off gas it immediately goes into the gear. If I don’t let off gas it won’t go to next gear until I let off gas. Great video, you know a lot about Chrysler/dodge transmissions….
Thank you for this great video. It gave a great view of what I would see once I drop the transmission pan on my 96 Dodge B3500. I am hoping that I don't have to replace the governor or control solenoid, but if I do I know this video will be a great help.
really well put together. thank you for sharing your knowledge. i have a 99 dodge ram 1500 5.2L that i need to do this with. as well as a filter replacement.
I am waiting on my part from Cascade Transmissions and they seem to be the real deal i mean i was responded to by email and minutes later by phone and ended up talking to the guy 3 times that day about parts for my vehicle overall i believe they are the best and will use this company again.... Thanks
+ThePieGuyIsI Hello - Please be sure to give us a thumbs up and subscribe to our channel , we have more videos on your truck coming soon - Thanks for the kind words ! !
it does help thanks, I also just seen your other video on master solenoid kit, I just looked at my truck and its gonna be a piece of cake job, Thanks for your great videos,
I purchased the complete governor solenoid, gov sensor, TC and OD solenoids with harness, Output Speed Sensor from Cascade Transmission fir a 95 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.0 42RE... Received the parts shipment in 3 days. Excellent Customer service, simple website layout and good youtube videos. Recommended for all who are looking for transmission kits or single parts, books and tech manuals.
8-7-2014 I2001 Dodge Ram 1500 I had this problem a few months back, took it to a Mechanic, charged me 350 dollars and 17 dollars for a sensor. It was better but not right. It did it again, My friend told me about your video. I bought the two parts from Auto Zone, 197 dollars plus oil, gasket and filter. It took me about what you said to do the work. Set up, drain, gasket and filter another hour. I ran it 3 miles with no problem. I drove it home, 23 miles and it shifts like a charm. I don't know what the guy I took it to put it, but it wasn't these two parts., I will never use him again. Thank you for your time it took to make the video and your knowledge you shared.
Great info... Thanks.. Got an Auto 42RE that when warmed up(when cold, no problem!!!) will not easily shift into the next gear after stoping at a red light. It starts in the very lowest gear and then gradually shifts, which means you BETTER NOT STOP IT ON A HILL GOING UP!!! It has only one speed sensor but I bet that solenoid needs replacing too. Mike in LA, Calif.
Doing my 1996 Grand Cherokee 5.2 mostly this weekend--Even though I just replaced filter and fluid about a year ago will replace w new, 150,000 miles and transmission fine except for that so no complaints
FYI for anyone looking to do this job. I bought the kit from Rock Auto with the manufacturer name of Tech Smart. The solenoid in the kit IS a MOPAR OEM part and the kit which comes with the solenoid and transducer (mine was 2001 diesel) is actually in the factory MOPAR wrapper so you are getting the SAME part for way less $$ than the dealer.
