In the haynes manual it says for the rear band to back off 4 turns (44RE V6) but for 46RE V8 it says back off 2 turns. I have a 5.2L V8 with the 44RE which one should i do?

Trans places already got me for $3000+ will never buy another dodge. I have a 2005 dodge ram 2500 cummins engine. Has 168,000 miles 20000 miles were put on without 2nd gear. I would Rev in 1st gear till recline and put in drive and be easy on gas pedal and it will go into 3rd. I parked it because I got a 1991 Chevy Silverado 100 bucks 4 year ago. We'll the silverado rear differential just failed. I need the dodge to get the rear end for the chevy. So I'm back to the dodge 😢. It's a Laramie quad door full leather it nice but issues with trans. Sitting for 4 years I took it for a ride and it still skipped 2nd gear lol😂. They want $3500 to rebuild it. I'll pass but I am going to try and fix it with help from this video.

Great videos. These provide a lot of good info. However, the tranny is on a bench. I had to adjust the bands with the tranny in the truck. Used a crow's foot wrench for the nut on the outside of the case. I put a piece of tape on my torx socket and marked it with a vertical line - so I could tell the rotation. Still not easy but doable. I did everything listed in the video, and my truck is shifting great.

wondering if this pressure solenoid went out could it cause my transmission not to go into 2nd we just swapped in a junkyard tranny, risky game, and it goes into reverse and drive and 2nd and 1st on the colum good, but it wont go into 2nd, or 3rd, were gonna try reseting the truck and see if maybe its in limp mode, but its weird because it didnt even attemp to shift into 2nd gear

Just curious has anyone see this part fail numerous times and find the reason why? Ive replaced it 3 times. The 3rd time the trans shop said it was because it wasnt a chrysler part. I paid the extra dough and guess what its failed again. P1754 code popped up cleared it and now hard shifting into 1st.

Yesterday I changed that resource, it was broken into 3 pieces, along with that, I changed the governor, pressure sensor, filter and everything else without removing the valve body... the only thing I noticed abnormal was the broken spring... Today it was driving very well, the changes felt smooth and it had super strength when starting... but after about 20 miles it went back to how it was before... again going from P to D hard hit, from 0 to 100 very slow and it already ran out of power again... I would like to know what would happen? If the resource broke again?
@Quadman808
@Quadman808 2 месяца назад
Not likely spring broke again but suggest checking fluid level while running In Neutral secondly where did you buy the parts ? fyi there is some sellers in U.S. selling bad offshore items * if same problem the seller should stand behind their items, unless other problem found --> a good pressure solenoid will ohm 4.2-4.3 Ohms , no way to test the sensor without a dyno

@@Quadman808 Hello... I checked the spring again and it was fine... I realized that the crankcase had a leak and I repaired it... I already put the correct oil level but it still has no power, the good thing is that the spring It is still complete and the other good thing is that the governor's fault code is gone... now I have to continue checking until I reach the fault (in fact I have a fault code P0601 indicating that the computer is damaged)

Hi Luke, the car had shown "Input/Shaft Speed Sensor No Signal" error and was recently fixed. The professional was not speaking English well and all I understood is that the input/shaft gear had to be adjusted to always send the signal to the "Input/Shaft Speed Sensor". I wonder could what you explained in the video be what he actually did to solve the problem. I would appreciate if you can point me in the right direction.

It's called Automatic Transmission Fluid, it's NOT called "Transmission Oil". And it's called the Transmission Fluid Cooler, it's NOT called the "Oil Cooler". I'm very disappointed you got these wrong. I'll keep searching for other companies. Thank you.
@Tetrony
@Tetrony 2 месяца назад
ATF is literally an oil... Also the oil cooler is the radiator, the thing with coolant in it that cools down the engine - oil - hence why it is sometimes referred to as an oil cooler In this instance he is speaking about the radiator flushing coolant into the transmission, so semantically speaking he is correct in saying oil cooler People use different terminology for the same thing, it happens all the time in blue collar work, it doesn't mean the guy doesn't know what he's talking about; it means he assumes if you're pulling out your valve body in the first place you can probably figure out what he means when he says transmission oil and oil cooler 😅
@YouDontTalkAboutFightClub
@YouDontTalkAboutFightClub 2 месяца назад
There does exist a time and a place where slang is accepted in a garage, of course. But a video like this needs to be correct. The guy sounds foolish calling it “Transmission Oil” and “Oil Cooler”. But I really don’t care that much at this point as I’ve already replaced my entire radiator, removed my valve body, replaced the low coast brake solenoid, cleaned all the pins on my TCM and I’m back on the road. You don’t really even need to purchase a rebuilt valve body.

Has anyone experienced rust or debris coming out when checking this 6L80 transmission fluid? First thanks for the video. It went smoothly. After i drove it and checked the fluid i noticed chunks of rust or some red or maroon colored thin chips or debris. I tried putting a magnet but didnt seem to stick. It almost looked like paint chippings but now im worried. It drives and shifts smoothly i did this out of preventative measure not from overheating. Again it just seemed the dipstick had brown sludge and maroon colored chipping. My vehicle is a 15 Tahoe 5.3L and is not rusted (Texas desert weather). Thanks!

I did my 1st transmission filter change today on my 96 Ford Explorer Limited with a v6 pushrod engine. I cleaned the magnet off mine was pretty full of slimy metal shavings. I used some brake clean to clean the inside of the pan and outside. Also, I used my angle grinder to clean up all the dirt and rust from the outside and repainted it.

I have a jeep renegade 2015 with what we believe is a bad speed sensor. Is this sensor on the outside of the transmission like the one you show him this video? If so, what is the part number that I need to replace and how easy is it to be done?

I have a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee. It won’t shift into 3rd gear. How do you know if it just need these parts or a new transmission.
