The time when I either dunk on people OR get dunked on, it’s absolutely unexplainable. My players are suddenly in the most open spots to take bangers and other times I can’t even get past my half. I can’t explain it.

Yesterday i was winning 8/0 against a very casual player. At 75 minuts of the game he left his controller and i manage to score only one goal because the AI defending was way waaay better then my opponent defense. Embarasing

I have worked in QA for several game development companies before and the people most responsible for this bad gameplay are the PM's(Product Managers) and not the developers. The bugs are already reported by QA in Jira, the PM's gets to decide on the severity, priority or just waive off the bug completely, with their main focus on the cost of the fix, Promoting IAP's and adding new features into the game.

For me, rebounds and lost touches have been the biggest killer in eafc 24 for me.

I consider myself an average player skill wise and a casual player in general. This isn't my main game, I play it for the love of football. I'm currently division 6 as someone who only plays 5-7 games a week. Even when climbing from 10 to 6 thought I haven't been below 7 in a long time, there was meta teams with custom YT tactics and parking the bus. I personally think ranks below 5 are average players at best and then decreasing from there. Its wild that the meta is that deep in low ranks, which in term kills the game for ppl who aren't YT viewers. You know ppl with little time on their hands and they aren't spending money, so they are running 86 overall teams or 87 overalls at best and just getting hammered bc so many ppl in Division 9 has TOTY Icons, TOTY Mbappe, etc.

don't even get me started on the AI congestion and press. I pass to my CMs or full backs and as soon as they take a touch (heavy touch ofc cuz bad gameplay) I am swarmed by 2 to 3 players who are already breathing down my neck before I can even dribble. no passing options except for the dumb meta plays

some games my team is amazing with good movement, and they feel responsive and some games they are clunky, not making runs, no man marking and missing easy chances. You literally flip a coin when you load in for a match to see if you're gonna get good gameplay or not, usually it's bad especially after the patch smh

In past FIFAs I got to Elite, and rank 3 - rank 1 in Champs consistently with half fun / half meta teams (not full meta is what I mean) and I did really well. In this FIFA my team is well behind the curve because of a break I took and I get COOKED by people I feel like just aren't as good as me and it's so infuriating, but they have the most META teams. Are players in this FIFA really that important? I thought I was going nuts because against these good teams the entire midfield is completely locked up, and I thought my opponent just had some god tactics? Or am I wrong idfk

I don't even have to check what platform the opponent is on 99% of the time, when I'm against someone on PC they're players react so much faster and the dribbling is so much tighter it's almost impossible to beat them if they're half decent and this is coming from someone who went 19-1 last weekend with cross platform on.

Have you been running the same formation this year like Boras 4321 or have you been switching it up?

It’s getting to the point where I only play squad battles and ngl I honestly feel like even there it’s really annoying because the everyone still runs the meta tactics witch the ai look like they then do And I’m someone who doesn’t buy packs and doesn’t run the meta and it’s really hard to play but we don’t have anything else to play Literally had a game tonight where I passed and like 15 times it passed right to the opponent and I’ve also noticed can no fkn goal keeper actually catch a ball

The midfield is very congestive as soon as you get the ball whilst playing career mode 3 CPU players are literally on you.. and finding players in space is impossible!!

Yeah I've noticed the change in ball control and the ball just wondering away from a player when trying to control a pass, why did they even touch the game i liked it a month and a half ago during toty, the composure change has ruined most players in the game ive noticed most players without 90+ composure there not turning correctly or shooting on target when theres more than one defender in ge box 😢

3:25 I just packed Birthday Butra and I was so hyped to use him but so far every time I dribble with him or try to meg a player he just makes a horrendous touch and I lose possession. I've tried this before and it's never been this bad.

Question, besides content wise, in terms of gameplay what makes this Fifa better than Efootball? Efootball stinks of content, but the game is free and updates like this Blue Lock one is refreshing. This week they even added a big patch which improves the fluidity of the ball which lots of players have enjoyed

So this is my problem. I lost 8 games in a row yesterday. Couldnt get near the goal and the other side walked through my defensive lines like a warm knife through butter. I manual defended.. so i will try to let AI do it from now on.

Hey Nick I agree! I love eFootball precisely because of passing through the centre space. Actually having high dribbling stats and one touch pass, the way the players move forward is a total joy. Gameplay offensively is leagues above where Fifa is in enjoyment. They just need a lot more daily content!! (Please try 3.4 new patch soon)

I mean I’m far from top level, Div 3 when I actually try. But I’m able to use “non meta” because I feast on headers and crossing and corners. But the game makes it impossible to just play any style you want. You can be a cutback guy, a wiggle forward and backwards guy, or a header guy. You can’t just freeball it, but you don’t have to use Messi etc if you’re willing to learn to head

A couple weeks ago I finally had a team that I was happy with because i had players I liked in every position. I felt really good and was able to pass the ball around the way I wanted to. This week I can feel how sluggishly everyone moves. I just completed TOTY Sawa because I needed a new CM and I'm japanese so I thought it would be cool to have an icon from my country. I used her loan last week and she felt like a cheat code. Yesterday I played and she felt so much worse. I've been annoyed by offensive AI this whole damn decade but I had to fucking drag every single player manually into position. I was not playing football, I was playing custom tactic simulator with the Soccer Manager 2008 DLC installed. I want to be excited for this game but it's such a hassle.

The defending is atrocious though. The AI defense is just overpowered, but if you actually try to defend yourself, you'll get run through.

I don’t get how people couldn’t see from day 1 that the gameplay would be the worst ever. The way the players act is so unnatural and it’s just massively off putting.

I uninstalled the game now, it’s not worth it anymore, the gameplay has been trash since launch and half way through the year they still haven’t made it any better, I don’t have any ‘meta’ players, never have, I like using players I WANT to use, not who I HAVE to use. Picked up Football Manager 2024 on sale and was the best decision I’ve made.

It feels like everyone is playing the same tactics overloading midfield choking your team to the point you can’t get out of your half without giving away a simple pass

Lets not forget the packweight is so terrible too. I barely pack a 88 plus player. Only time i have is when i bought fifa points or spend my saved coins on those ridiculous store packs.

I literally just let Cannavaro and Bastoni 91 AI defend and they get so many interceptions. I hardly lose letting the AI do the work. The only time I concede is due to something really jammy like the ball bouncing off someone 18 times in a row. Power shot from 9 miles away or aerial power header slabheads.

I was never a good player, this year I’ve put in the work and I’m a division 2 player rank 1, I’m miserable, I hate the extra touches so so much, whyyyy, why if I wanna pass quick I need to see myacalister wait an hour before he passes??? It’s garbage and I’m sad

Theyve just made all mechanics without Playstyles fundementally worse. So the game flow and patterns just break constantly. Delay + animations make it hell to plan anything.

Big ups to Inception & Nick for calling out all the bull in this (anti)football game. Animation delay is absolutely awful & you don’t get rewarded for playing proper football. The menu’s are propping up the poor gameplay more now than any other year

We need to Go back to manual defending took me 2 years of fut back in 10/11 learning the game in and out to feel I was a good player now I can't get past the 3rd win in rivals without getting bored of the midfield play and having every opponent score cut backs just not a fun experience anymore :(

Last year during july - august the game became unplayable, after TOTS. But atleast it was playable for the whole year... this year seems like just RNG everything - PS. 2K new gen has been unplayable since it came out , it has a faulty contest system and they removed core defensive and shooting badges that used to balance that shit, so now they just use lower difficulty online instead of actually balancing the game. Its fundamentally broken still !

And we haven’t even touched cosmetics and other things like boots, gloves, clothing styles, tapes, etc. Tell me how gameplay feels completely different depending on the game locked you’re on. UT, Career mode, and kick off gameplay feel gapped in difference. Like completely different. The most balanced gameplay you could have gotten was in the World Cup mode in fifa 23. But even then it’s no guarantee of consistency.

Now the FC24 is given penaltis for every contact in Goal Area... defense is impossible to do. As soon as you stole the ball you lose the ball.! !! the adversary is at ground, and out of nowhere he is there to fight you and get the ball back!??? WFK??

I usually manually defend on every game but this year is so much worse to do that if im playing someone good i concede 5+

E-football pitches is actually just bigger, in fifa the pitch is like 40*75 or sth, you can see ea vids of scan players and in game side by side you will see irl pitch was bigger.

This game has been a button masher’s wet dream since FIFA 13. I don’t know how I keep getting sucked into buying this abomination of a product year after year. Albeit I’ve only been buying it when it goes on huge sales in the past 5 years - like over 50% off - not because I can’t afford it but because it’s my principal not to support 💩 in general. I have so many saved videos of not only my opponents but also myself scoring absolutely MINDLESS GOALS. Like I’m talking get tackled, have the ball go back to an attacking teammate, have that guy take an ill advised shot that gets blocked… only to have it bounce directly onto the feet of yet another teammate - shoot on a wide open net and score. This stuff happened once in a while back in the heydays of like the mid 00s FIFA titles all the way up to FIFA 12. Yes it happened HERE AND THERE. But for the most part a good player was going to dominate a bad one. I’m ranked top 300 in Madden. I’ve been ranked in the top 100 in various other sports games in the past including some of the older FIFA titles. This isn’t a skill issue. This is a fn game issue. For the record I don’t like it when I score garbage goals either. The whole experience is bad. That’s what I’m talking about. The entire EAFC experience is a nightmare.

this is what happens when you take something like "first touch" and make it a playstyle - players with the trait are just back to the baseline, the rest of the players are nerfed.

For me a big problem is goalkeepers and poor finishing from strikers. Goalkeeping has been a problem since the start. Ai defending and blocks is also terrible. I think only a player your controlling should be able to tackle or block. But seriously finishing is so bad i can dominate players and their keeper will make 10 saves. I'm talking as a more casual player not as someone in div 1 or elite. But i am in div 6 i just returned after months away i left before TOTY. So many people complained about keepers and they just got buffed to the sky. Also yes it is definitely impossible to use fun teams when u verse puskas,ronaldo,ronaldinho,garincha,best etc all these top cards. My vidic, koeman cb partnership is not good enough to even handle these players. And on the other side my fut birthday van nistelrooy upfront he misses so many chances and isn't good enough to beat these toty cechs with van dijk and toty ferdinand etc.

rivals is hard enough but fut champs is literally unplayable for me because of credit card fc. the inconsistent game play, my players standing still, slow turning, slow shooting reactions if i just want a quick tap in. THERES NOT EVEN A POINT OF MANUAL MARKING PLAYERS, just let ai defend and cut off passing lanes.

UFL is on the rise! Still needs polished but there is hope!!!! Been playing the beta for a few months and they have made insane upgrades each month! Not FIFA level though but it’s coming around!!!!
